¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, hace unas semanas mi amiga @eldiariodelys me recomendó ver ésta película, básicamente porque ella sabe lo mucho que me gusta el género romántico y porque el protagonista es lindo 😂, así que ese mismo día que me la recomendó aproveché de verla porque justamente estaba buscando algo entretenido para mirar, la verdad no le tenía muchas expectativas porque me daba la impresión de ser como cualquiera historia genérica sin amor que hacen últimamente y que intentan colar como romántica, vaya sorpresa me llevé cuando terminé de ver la película, así que es por esa razón que hoy hablaremos sobre El Otro París 🐎💖.
Hello Hello Community! ✨, A few weeks ago, my friend @eldiariodelys recommended that I watch this film, basically because she knows how much I like the romantic genre and because the lead actor is cute 😂. So, the same day she recommended it, I took the opportunity to watch it because I was looking for something entertaining to watch. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations because it seemed like one of those generic stories without love that they make lately and try to pass off as romantic. What a surprise I got when I finished watching the film! That's why today we're going to talk about The Wrong Paris 🐎💖.
💖 SINOPSIS || SYNOPSIS 🐎
Dawn es una chica de pueblo que sueña con estudiar artes en París Francia, es la hermana mayor de 3 chicas que han tenido que vivir con su abuela en una granja debido a que sus padres fallecieron hace años, por lo que costear una carrera en el extranjero no es algo que se encuentre dentro de sus posibilidades económicas, sin embargo una escuela de artes le ofrece una beca de estudio pero ella debe encargarse de pagar su arriendo y el resto de gastos, así que para poder conseguir el dinero que necesita y no desaprovechar la oportunidad que se le está dando, decide participar en un reality show de citas que se llevará a cabo en París, pero para su sorpresa cuando llega al lugar de grabación se da cuenta que no están en Francia, sino en París Texas, específicamente en la granja de Trey McAllen es soltero por el que comenzará a sentir algo, ¿Podrá el amor ser más fuerte que sus aspiraciones académicas?
Dawn is a small-town girl who dreams of studying art in Paris, France. She is the eldest of three sisters who have had to live with their grandmother on a farm since their parents died years ago, so paying for a degree abroad is not something she can afford. However, an art school offers her a scholarship, but she must pay her rent and other expenses. So, in order to get the money she needs and not miss out on this opportunity, she decides to participate in a reality dating show that will take place in Paris. But to her surprise, when she arrives at the filming location, she realises that they are not in France, but in Paris, Texas, specifically on the farm of Trey McAllen, a bachelor for whom she will begin to feel something. Can love be stronger than his academic aspirations?
💖 UNA BECA DE ESTUDIO, UN REALITY SHOW Y UN ROMANCE INESPERADO || A SCHOLARSHIP, A REALITY SHOW AND AN UNEXPECTED ROMANCE 🐎
Arrancaré diciendo que esta película tiene los elementos mínimos que debemos esperar de una comedio romántica 😂, y con ésto realmente quiero decir que es bastante buena cumpliendo con el principal objetivo que a mí parecer se plantearon, el cual era entretener. Cuando arranqué a verla le ví demasiados aires a las típicas historias de Hallmark, que si bien no me molestan en su mayoría , es verdad que son bastante simples y que bien pueden estar solo de ruido de fondo; grata sorpresa me llevé cuando me dí cuenta que genuinamente estaba interesada en saber qué iba a pasar en la película, me ví riéndome varias veces de los acontecimientos que se mostraban e incluso llegué a frustrarme con algunas decisiones que se tomaron.
I'll start by saying that this film has the minimum elements we should expect from a romantic comedy 😂, and by that I really mean that it's quite good at fulfilling what I think was its main objective, which was to entertain. When I started watching it, I saw too many similarities to typical Hallmark stories, which, while they don't bother me for the most part, are quite simple and could easily be just background noise. I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that I was genuinely interested in what was going to happen in the film. I found myself laughing several times at the events that unfolded and even got frustrated with some of the decisions that were made.
Algo que me agradó desde el principio es que no tenemos a una protagonista femenina ni acomplejada ni “única y diferente”, es simplemente una chica de granja que tiene un sueño más grande de lo que su economía puede costear, pero más allá de eso no hay nada que la haga especial o sobresaliente, y eso me gusta porque facilita que como espectadora puedas conectar con ella y el trasfondo de su historia, el cual es de principio a fin su sueño de ser artista, no el de abandonar la granja porque “odie esa vida que le tocó”, sino simplemente explorar una faceta más de ella que la apasiona y se le da bien.
Something I liked from the start is that we don't have a female protagonist who is either insecure or “unique and different”; she is simply a farm girl who has a dream that is bigger than her finances can afford, but beyond that there is nothing that makes her special or outstanding, and I like that because it makes it easier for the viewer to connect with her and the background of her story, which is, from beginning to end, her dream of being an artist, not of leaving the farm because she ‘hates the life she has been given’, but simply of exploring another facet of herself that she is passionate about and good at.
Otro punto a favor que encuentro en todo el desarrollo de la historia es que los protagonistas se hayan conocido antes del reality (no sé si ésto cuente como spoiler, si así lo es lo siento), porque eso permite ver una interacción de ellos demasiado divertida, y además hace que la construcción de su relación se sienta absolutamente genuina y bien llevada, que ésto es algo que yo suelo criticar de las películas “románticas” actuales, y es que no suele haber desarrollo del romance, pero aquí el cuento es otro, no solo nos dan un hilo conductor que va uniendo románticamente a los protagonistas, nos dan personajes que tienen química entre ellos y a los que les crees que se estén enamorando, se nos da escenas preciosas donde comparten tiempo de conexión y la cereza del pastel, es que se nos presenta a dos protagonistas que verdaderamente se coquetean, es la fórmula ideal para una película romántica y no pienso discutirlo 😂.
Another point in favour that I find throughout the development of the story is that the protagonists knew each other before the reality show (I don't know if this counts as a spoiler, if so, I apologise), because that allows us to see their interaction, which is very entertaining, and also makes the development of their relationship feel absolutely genuine and well done, which is something I often criticise in current ‘romantic’ films, which is that there is usually no development of the romance. But here, it's a different story. Not only do they give us a storyline that romantically brings the protagonists together, they give us characters who have chemistry between them and who you believe are falling in love. we are given beautiful scenes where they share moments of connection, and the icing on the cake is that we are presented with two protagonists who truly flirt with each other. It's the ideal formula for a romantic film, and I'm not going to argue with that 😂.
Afortunadamente, la buena construcción del romance hace que se puedan pasar por alto la gran cantidad de escenas de cringe que tiene ésta película, porqué sí, es una historia que puede llegar a sentirse un poquito absurda con respecto a algunas escenas y decisiones tomadas, de igual forma ésto no es especialmente malo porque estamos hablando de una película que se sitúa dentro de un reality show y que apuesta a todo por ser cómica, así que desde ese punto de vista ya uno se imagina que en algunos momentos sentiremos pena ajena por la protagonista 😂.
Fortunately, the well-constructed romance makes it possible to overlook the large number of cringe-worthy scenes in this film, because yes, it is a story that can feel a little absurd in terms of some scenes and decisions made. However, this is not particularly bad because we are talking about a film that takes place within a reality show and goes all out to be comical, so from that point of view, one can imagine that at times we will feel embarrassed for the protagonist 😂.
Algo que mencioné anteriormente es que la protagonista femenina no se cree “única y diferente”, y quizás ésto pueda malinterpretarse pero realmente es un elemento que yo considero positivo, y es que honestamente estoy cansada de que esa premisa se repita en casi todas las películas románticas actuales, a veces yo solo quiero ver a una chica normal con la que me pueda identificar y ya está, alguien que destaca para el interés romántico solo porque comparten un estilo de vida similar, porque ser una chica de granja es justo lo que la hace resaltar entre todas las demás chicas del reality, y eso puede ser muchísimo más común que cualquier letra cualidad sacada del saco creativo que últimamente todos los guionistas tienen.
Something I mentioned earlier is that the female protagonist does not believe herself to be “unique and different”, and perhaps this could be misinterpreted, but it is actually something I consider positive, because, honestly, I'm tired of that premise being repeated in almost all current romantic films. Sometimes I just want to see a normal girl I can identify with, someone who stands out as a romantic interest simply because they share a similar lifestyle, because being a farm girl is exactly what makes her stand out from all the other girls on the reality show, and that can be much more common than any letter quality pulled out of the creative bag that all screenwriters have lately.
Y no conforme con ésto, me encantó ver que ella en ningún momento dejó de lado su sueño de estudiar en Francia, quizás debió manejarlo de una forma distinta porque realmente el conflicto de la historia se pudo evitar (aunque si se hacía no teníamos película 😂), pero aún así el hecho de que haya persistido hasta el final fue una decisión creativa que me hizo valorar ésta película.
Not only that, but I loved seeing that she never gave up on her dream of studying in France. Perhaps she should have handled it differently, because the conflict in the story could have been avoided (although if she had, we wouldn't have had a film 😂), but even so, the fact that she persisted until the end was a creative decision that made me appreciate this film.
