¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, ¿Alguna vez les ha pasado que ven un video edit de una película con dos actores que jamás pensaron que trabajarían juntos y eso los hizo buscar la historia?, pues justamente eso fue lo que me pasó a mí con la película de la que hablaremos hoy. Creo que todos conocemos a Tom Cruise pero ¿Conocemos su faceta de actor de entregas románticas?, porque yo no y que grato fue ver eso por primera vez, pero además creo que quienes somos seguidores del género romántico conocemos a Renée Zellweger, mejor conocida por ser Bridget Jones, y al menos yo jamás imaginaria que éstos dos actores trabajarían juntos, pero aunque ésto fue lo que me llevo a ver la película, no fue lo que me hizo disfrutarla y eso es lo que te comentaré a continuación 👏🏻.

Well, that's exactly what happened to me with the film we're going to talk about today. I think we all know Tom Cruise, but do we know him as an actor in romantic films? I didn't, and it was a pleasure to see that for the first time. I also think that those of us who are fans of the romantic genre know Renée Zellweger, better known as Bridget Jones, and at least I would never have imagined that these two actors would work together. Although this is what led me to see the film, it wasn't what made me enjoy it, and that's what I'll tell you about next 👏🏻.
💼 SINOPSIS || SYNOPSIS 🏈
Jerry Maguire es un exitoso representante de deportistas, ha construido una excelente carrera profesional llegando a alcanzar un número bastante elevado de clientes, sin embargo un día uno de sus representados se lesiona y ésto hace que se replantee si lo que está haciendo es lo correcto o no, así que en medio de una epifanía escribe un memorándum para la empresa en la que trabaja donde expresa no sólo cómo se siente, sino como debería ser el trabajo de un representante que realmente se preocupe por sus clientes, obviamente ésta acción trae consigo su despido casi inmediato por lo que ahora debe volver a reconstruir su exitosa carrera pero ahora de forma independiente, aunque al inicio parece sencillo la realidad es que todos sus clientes lo abandonan excepto uno, así que ahora solo cuenta con un cliente y la ayuda de Dorothy, una madre soltera dedicada a la contaduría que se ha sentido inspirada por las palabras de Jerry.
Jerry Maguire is a successful sports agent who has built an excellent professional career, acquiring a large number of clients. However, one day one of his clients is injured, causing him to rethink whether what he is doing is right or not. 💼 LAS PERSONAS SON MÁS QUE MÁQUINAS DE HACER DINERO || PEOPLE ARE MORE THAN MONEY-MAKING MACHINES 🏈
En ésta película tenemos a Tom Cruise, Bridget Jones y el hermano mayor de Stuart Little, no estoy exagerando ésta película reunió a varios actores que hoy día podemos reconocer por haber participado en alguna película que nos haya acompañado durante la infancia/adolescencia (incluyendo Jumanji 😂), y puedo decir que todos se complementaron para dar vida a éste drama deportivo, porqué sí, más que describir a ésta historia como un romance, lo que realmente representa es el drama laboral que hay detrás de los contratos deportivos de jugadores de alto y mediano nivel.
Aunque yo personalmente haya llegado por el romance, no puedo negar que lo que más me impacto de la historia fue conocer un poco de cómo es la forma de negociación detrás de los deportistas, qué papel juegan sus representantes, qué tanto tienes que hacer para alcanzar tu sueño y lo más importante, llevar el sustento económico a tú hogar.
In this film, we have Tom Cruise, Bridget Jones, and Stuart Little's older brother. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this film brought together several actors who we now recognise for having appeared in films that accompanied us during our childhood/adolescence (including Jumanji 😂). and I can say that they all complemented each other to bring this sports drama to life. Because, yes, rather than describing this story as a romance, what it really represents is the workplace drama behind the sports contracts of high- and mid-level players.
Although I personally came for the romance, I cannot deny that what impacted me most about the story was learning a little about how negotiations work behind the scenes for athletes, what role their representatives play, how much you have to do to achieve your dream and, most importantly, to bring home the bacon.
No todos los deportistas tendrán una carrera exitosa de miles de millones, algunos tienen como meta ganar el suficiente dinero para poder darle a su familia calidad de vida, y ésto es importante porque es lo que busca desde el inicio el único cliente de Jerry, él es un jugador de fútbol americano que si bien quiero el reconocimiento y la fama propia de su carrera, al final del día lo que más busca es estar con su familia y proveer los recursos económicos suficientes para vivir con tranquilidad.
La dualidad entre Jerry y su cliente se encuentra enmarcada en ésta incomprensión de Jerry de éste deseo, porque si bien Jerry quiere ganar dinero y está acostumbrado a hacerlo cerrando contratos millonarios, él no posee una familia que dependa de él enteramente y por eso el dinero y las personas son simplemente fichas de cambio, ésto cambia cuando llega Dorothy.
Not all athletes will have a successful career worth billions; some aim to earn enough money to give their families a good quality of life, and this is important because it is what Jerry's only client has been seeking from the beginning. He is an American football player who, although he wants the recognition and fame that comes with his career, at the end of the day what he wants most is to be with his family and provide enough financial resources to live comfortably.
The duality between Jerry and his client is framed by Jerry's misunderstanding of this desire, because although Jerry wants to earn money and is used to doing so by signing million-dollar contracts, he does not have a family that depends entirely on him, and so money and people are simply bargaining chips. This changes when Dorothy arrives.
¿Pero por qué cambia realmente?, pues porque Dorothy es una madre soltera que ha puesto su confianza en Jerry, ha dejado su trabajo para apoyarlo porque se ha sentido inspirada por las palabras que este ha plasmado en el memorándum, en el transcurso de los acontecimientos que viven ella se va enamorando y su hijo va conquistando el corazón de Jerry, y si notan aquí hay cierto orden en la explicación y eso tiene un significado importante, porque si bien Jerry ama al hijo de Dorothy, él no está del todo seguro de amar a Dorothy y por eso cuando el conflicto inevitablemente llega a su relación, a él le duele perder al niño y no tanto a ella.
Para Jerry no es complicado conectar con las personas, básicamente a eso se dedica, por eso no le es difícil encariñarse con el niño, ahora lo sí ha sido un conflicto para él siempre es aceptar que puede amar, decir te amo y no solo responderlo, y éste entendimiento solo lo adquiere cuando finalmente logra hacer que su cliente triunfe, porque ante semejante logro se da cuenta que la única persona con la que quiere celebrarlo es con Dorothy, pues es hasta ese momento que realmente alcanza el mensaje central del memorándum que la inspiró a ella: las personas son más que máquinas de hacer dinero.

However, it has always been a struggle for him to accept that he can love, to say ‘I love you’ and not just respond to it. He only comes to understand this when he finally manages to make his client succeed, because in the face of such an achievement, he realises that the only person he wants to celebrate with is Dorothy. It is only then that he truly grasps the central message of the memo that inspired her: people are more than money-making machines.
Las personas forman familias, brindan amor, compañerismo y lealtad, en Jerry hasta éste punto ya no hay más temor a la soledad sino pleno disfrute de la compañía, la epifanía que él había vivido ahora sí estaba siendo comprendida para él, porque Dorothy la entendió desde el inicio y por eso no teme renunciar a su trabajo para apoyarlo, igualmente pasaba con su cliente, él tenía muy claro lo que quería y en el camino hacía conseguirlo forma una amistad con Jerry, la cual transforma la manera en como se entendía el trabajo de ser representante, siendo así como ambos alcanzan el éxito que pedían.
Aunque haya llegado por el romance, fue la excelente construcción de una narrativa con un mensaje interesante lo que me hizo disfrutar la historia.
People form families, provide love, companionship and loyalty. At this point, Jerry no longer fears loneliness but fully enjoys company. The epiphany he had experienced was now being understood by him, because Dorothy understood it from the beginning and therefore did not fear giving up her job to support him. The same was true of his client. he was very clear about what he wanted, and on the way to achieving it, he formed a friendship with Jerry, which transformed the way he understood the job of being a representative, and that is how they both achieved the success they sought.
Although I came for the romance, it was the excellent construction of a narrative with an interesting message that made me enjoy the story.
