Debido a los recurrentes cortes de luz que hoy día estamos viviendo, me he tomado la tarea de mantener en mi teléfono una cantidad considerable de películas o series para ver en estos lapsos de tiempo en donde me encuentro sin electricidad, es por eso que mi abanico de reseñas se mantiene constantemente y puedo traerles éstos post con frecuencia. Resulta y acontece que después de Mulán yo me decepcioné de los live action de Disney y especialmente estuve un poco renuente a ver éste en particular, sin embargo cuando la película se estrenó mi tik tok se lleno de videos con opiniones realmente positivas hacía la película, así que eso me motivó un poco a verla, aún así no la fuí a ver al cine por en esas fechas se estaba por estrenar Barbie y yo tenía prioridades, sin embargo hace días pude descargar y verla y hoy les traigo mi opinión sincera sobre ésta película 🧜🏻♀️✨.

It just so happens that after Mulan I was disappointed with Disney live action and I was especially reluctant to watch this particular one, however when the movie came out my tik tok was full of videos with really positive opinions about the movie, so that motivated me a bit to see it, even so I didn't go to see it at the cinema because at that time Barbie was about to be released and I had priorities, however days ago I was able to download and watch it and today I bring you my honest opinion about this movie 🧜🏻♀️✨.
No creo que tenga que decirles de qué trata ésta película porque ya sabemos que es una adaptación a la película animada de disney, animación que también es la adaptación de un cuento que de hecho es muy turbio 🤣 pero que el día de hoy no viene al caso 🤣. Como deben saber nuestra protagonista es Ariel, la hija menor del Rey Tritón, y quien si mal no estoy informada representa al Mar Caribe, pues en el live action todas las hijas del Rey Tritón representan un océano o mar. Ariel es sin duda la mas aventurera y curiosa de todas sus hermanas, aunque no sabría decirlo con mucha seguridad pues aquí no hay demasiada interacción entre ellas, así que realmente vemos muy poco a sus hermanas, pero lo que si queda claro desde el inicio es la fuerte curiosidad que Ariel tiene por el mundo humano, tal cual ocurre en la animación. También queda claro desde el inicio el gran odio que siente el Rey Tritón por lo humanos, debido a que la mamá de Ariel murió a causa de ellos, y debo decir que no recuerdo si ésto se mencionaba en la película animada, pero aquí me llamó la atención y me pareció un detalle importante.
I don't think I have to tell you what this film is about because we already know that it is an adaptation of the Disney animated film, animation that is also the adaptation of a story that is actually very murky 🤣 but that is not the point today 🤣. As you may know our protagonist is Ariel, the youngest daughter of King Triton, and who if I'm not mistaken represents the Caribbean Sea, because in the live action all the daughters of King Triton represent an ocean or sea. Ariel is undoubtedly the most adventurous and curious of all her sisters, although I can't say for sure because there is not much interaction between them here, so we really see very little of her sisters, but what is clear from the beginning is the strong curiosity that Ariel has for the human world, as it happens in the animation. It is also clear from the beginning the great hatred that King Triton has for humans, because Ariel's mother died because of them, and I must say that I don't remember if this was mentioned in the animated film, but here it caught my attention and I thought it was an important detail.
La relación entre Ariel y Eric es definitivamente uno de los puntos fuertes de ésta adaptación, a diferencia de la película animada, aquí nos dejan ver una mayor interacción entre ellos dos y nos hace ver porqué al final son los protagonistas, hay escenas donde ellos mantienen un tipo de "conversación" que te permite empatizar con su relación, deja de ser solo una niña medianamente obsesionada con el chico humano y que deja todo por estar con él, a ser más la historia de una niña medianamente obsesionada con el chico humano que decide dejar todo su mundo para estar con él y en el camino descubre que tienen sueños e intereses similares, y que de alguna manera él no solo está medianamente obsesionado con su voz 🤣. Que hablando de la voz de Ariel, aquí si se hace referencia al canto de las sirenas y al poder que tiene éste sobre los hombres, en la película animada no tocaron ese tema y decidieron irse más por lo romántico, pero creo que todos sabemos que realmente Eric cayó bajo el encanto de la voz de sirena, me agrada que aquí sí se hable de ese tema porque justamente permite empatizar aún más con la relación que ellos dos construyen antes de que Ariel recupere su voz.
The relationship between Ariel and Eric is definitely one of the strongest points of this adaptation, unlike the animated film, here we get to see more interaction between the two of them and it makes us see why they are the main characters in the end, there are scenes where they have a kind of "conversation" that allows you to empathise with their relationship, it stops being just a girl mildly obsessed with the human boy and who leaves everything to be with him, to be more the story of a girl mildly obsessed with the human boy who decides to leave her whole world to be with him and on the way she discovers that they have similar dreams and interests, and that somehow he is not just mildly obsessed with her voice 🤣. Speaking of Ariel's voice, here there is a reference to the song of the mermaids and the power it has over men, in the animated film they didn't touch that theme and decided to go more for the romantic, but I think we all know that Eric really fell under the charm of the mermaid's voice, I like that here they do talk about that topic because it allows us to empathize even more with the relationship that they build before Ariel recovers her voice.
Y de nuevo hablando del tema de la voz, pasemos a aspectos que no me agradaron, lo primero fue Sebastián y Flounder, para empezar el segundo casi ni aparece en la película y esto ni siquiera tiene que ver con su apariencia medio extraña, y Sebastián no tiene su acento cubano 🙄, aunque debo decir que su apariencia y participación estuvieron bastante bien, esa parte no me molestó. Lo que sí me molestó fue lo que hicieron con Úrsula 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️, o sea ya está siendo una constante con Disney que ahora hacen a los villanos medio tontos, ya me pasó con Jafar en Aladdin y ahora me pasó con Úrsula que honestamente no me dió miedo ni cuando se hizo toda gigante, y no es que Úrsula me diera miedo en la animación, pero sí es verdad que tenía algo que hacía que fuese un personaje que te encantaba y al mismo tiempo odiabas, aquí fue solo una mujer resentida que usó a una niña para un plan que le salió mal 🤷🏻♀️, porque incluso la pelea final no fue para nada épica. Además otro aspecto que no me agrado fue el tema del reino, se notó demasiado que todo el presupuesto de la película se lo llevó el CGI, y eso hizo que los extras fuesen pocos, el reino terrestre tenía no más de 10 persona y absolutamente nada que gritara que eran un reino importante, y el reino acuático solo tenía peces, de hecho por un momento dudé que la población de sirenas solo lo conformaran las hermana de Ariel, el Rey Tritón y la misma Ariel, porque no es hasta el final de la película que vemos a más sirenas, o sea a lo que quiero llegar es que se nota que no hubo mucho presupuesto que les permitiera cuidar elementos importantes como la contratación de personal actoral 🤷🏻♀️.
And again talking about the voice, let's move on to aspects that I didn't like, the first was Sebastian and Flounder, for starters the second one almost doesn't appear in the film and this doesn't even have to do with his strange appearance, and Sebastian doesn't have his Cuban accent 🙄, although I must say that his appearance and participation were pretty good, that part didn't bother me. What did bother me was what they did with Ursula 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️, I mean it's becoming a constant with Disney that now they make half-witted villains, it already happened to me with Jafar in Aladdin and now it happened to me with Ursula who honestly didn't even scare me when she became a giant, And it's not that Ursula scared me in the animation, but it's true that she had something that made her a character that you loved and hated at the same time, here she was just a resentful woman who used a girl for a plan that went wrong 🤷🏻♀️, because even the final fight wasn't epic at all. Also another aspect I didn't like was the theme of the kingdom, it was too noticeable that all the budget of the movie was taken by CGI, and that made the extras were few, the land kingdom had no more than 10 people and absolutely nothing that screamed they were an important kingdom, and the water kingdom only had fish, in fact for a moment I doubted that the mermaid population was only made up of Ariel's sisters, King Triton and Ariel herself, because it is not until the end of the film that we see more mermaids, so what I am getting at is that it is clear that there was not much budget that allowed them to take care of important elements such as the hiring of acting staff 🤷🏻♀️.
Aún así, pese a todo lo que no me gustó, realmente fue una película que disfrute mucho y que sí volvería a ver (no como Mulán), y creo que principalmente éste gusto se debe a dos cosas, la primera la relación entre Eric y Ariel y segundo la relación padre e hija entre el Rey Tritón y Ariel, de verdad que fue de las cosas mas lindas de ver, porque al principio sí siento que al Rey le faltaban un poco de esa fuerte presencia que tenía su versión animada, pero en la escenas con Ariel y sobre todo las de despedida, me conmovió tanto que hasta lloré y eso no me pasa con la animada, así que creo que allí es donde están los puntos fuertes de ésta adaptación, en las relaciones afectivas, aunque me habría gustado ver más de las hermanas de Ariel, debo admitir que todo eso se borra cuando veo la dinámica padre-hija que lograron mostrarnos 💕.
Still, despite everything I didn't like, it really was a film that I enjoyed a lot and I would watch it again (not like Mulan), and I think that I like it mainly because of two things, first the relationship between Eric and Ariel and second the father and daughter relationship between King Triton and Ariel, it was really one of the nicest things to see, because at the beginning I feel that the King lacked a little of that strong presence that his animated version had, but in the scenes with Ariel and especially the farewell scenes, I was so moved that I even cried and that doesn't happen to me with the animated version, so I think that's where the strong points of this adaptation are, in the emotional relationships, although I would have liked to see more of Ariel's sisters, I must admit that all that is erased when I see the father-daughter dynamic that they managed to show us 💕.

Honestamente esta película tampoco me llamaba la atención o tenía fe para verla, más que todo por el hecho de que de los live actions de Disney ya espero más de lo mismo, pero por los puntos fuertes que comentas que tiene la película, creo que me animaré a verla. ¡Gracias por tu reseña!
Ya los live action de Disney están teniendo ese efecto 😕, es triste porque creo que la mayoría crecimos con éstas historias, pero de verdad que te la recomiendo, yo la ví con mis dudas pero esos puntos fuertes que menciono me hicieron conectar con la historia ✨, también te recomiendo verla subtitulada 🤣, porque hay una nueva canción del príncipe que al menos en español no tiene mucha rima 🤣, tal vez en inglés sí la tenga.
