All the lights we cannot see is tremendously emotional, which can captivate and shake the heart of the hardest people.

Every night an illegal radio program is broadcast, where encrypted messages are sent revealing the positions of the Germans who have invaded France. In charge is a young blind girl named Marie, who has followed in the footsteps of her mentor the "Professor" to whom she listened fervently every night.

All the light we cannot see also follows the life of a young German boy forced to join the army due to his incredible talent he has with radios, the boy is labeled as a genius, both Marie and Werner share a passion for radios and both are unknowingly connected by the fact that both have listened to the Professor since they were children, thus their lives have been marked by the passion to seek the truth beyond what we are taught the truth is what it is and no dictator or war can change it no matter how hard we try.

Apart from the two young people listening to the Professor, who gave lessons of reason, philosophy and spoke of the truth, their life when a Nazi general wants to obtain a jewel in the possession of Marie's father. This jewel possesses a certain healing quality or property, but also a curse. Whoever possesses this jewel will be immortal, but will also see the person he loves the most die.

Here I want to mention Lars Eidinger who during the short 4 episodes of the series has the best performance of all, you can feel the desperation to get the damn jewel, it's a really unhinged performance that makes you hate the dying character.

Marie's character is a bit confusing to me let me explain why. While it's true that it tries to make Marie look pure, it doesn't give more depth to her character, who always appears on screen with simple shots that don't honor the character. Nor does it make it possible to see anything more of her. Marie is the purest thing in the world, but why, develop the character. The series falls short in this regard, perhaps the book is better developed.

I see that the series has been getting bad reviews for some performances where there is no depth and sometimes they are flat performances that don't offer more than what they have offered, sometimes it is true. Louis Hofmann's character doesn't offer much and always has this worried face where he's always being chased by someone, he's always prey.

The music is very good, the silences in the moments are always appropriate, maybe the dialogues feel a bit pretentious and sometimes forced a bit, but the truth is that they are fine if you don't care too much about that.

Perhaps a better job could have been done that would have done better honor to the Pulitzer Prize winning book, but the truth is that the miniseries is very good and deserves to be given a chance.

Todas las noches se transmite un programa ilegal de radio, donde se envía mensajes encriptados que revelan las posiciones de los alemanes que han invadido Francia. A cargo está una joven chica ciega llamada Marie, que ha seguido los pasos de su mentor el "Profesor" a quien fervientemente escuchaba todas las noches.

All the light we cannot see también sigue la vida de un joven alemán obligado a formar parte del ejercito debido a su increíble talento que tiene con las radios, el chico es catalogado como un genio, tanto Marie como Werner comparten la pasión por las radios y ambos están conectados sin saberlo por el hecho que ambos han escuchado al Profesor desde que eran niños, así sus vidas han sido marcadas por la pasión de buscar la verdad más allá de lo que se nos enseñe la verdad es lo que es y ningún dictador o guerra puede cambiarla por más que se trate.

A parte de que ambos jóvenes escuchaban al Profesor, quien impartía lecciones de razón, filosofía y hablaba de la verdad, la vida de ellos cuando un general Nazi quiera obtener una joya en posesión del padre de Marie. Dicha joya posee cierta cualidad o propiedad curativa, pero también una maldición. Todo aquel que posea dicha joya será inmortal, pero también verá a la persona que más ama morir.

Acá quiero hacer mención a Lars Eidinger que durante los cortos 4 episodios de la serie tiene la mejor actuación de todas, puedes sentir la desesperación por conseguir la maldita joya, es una actuación realmente desquiciada que hace que odies al moribundo personaje.

El personaje de Marie es un poco confuso para mí déjeme le explico por qué. Si bien es cierto que se trata de hacer ver a Marie como alguien puro, no se le da más profundidad a su personaje, quien siempre aparece en pantalla con planos simples que no le hacen honor al personaje. Ni hace que se pueda ver algo más de ella. Marie es lo más puro del mundo, pero porque, desarollá al personaje. La serie queda corta en este aspecto, quizás el libro esté mejor desarrollado.

Veo que la serie ha estado recibiendo malas críticas por algunas actuaciones en las que no hay profundidad y algunas veces son actuaciones planas que no ofrecen más de lo que han ofrecido, algunas veces es verdad. El personaje de Louis Hofmann no ofrece mucho y siempre tiene este rostro de preocupación en la que está siempre perseguido por alguien, es siempre una presa.

La música está muy bien, los silencios en los momentos siempre son adecuados, quizás los diálogos se sientan algo pretenciosos y algunas veces forzados un poco, pero la verdad es que están bien si no te importa mucho eso.

Quizá se pudo haber hecho un mejor trabajo que se le hiciera mejor honor al libro ganador del premio Pulitzer, pero la verdad es que la miniserie está muy buena y merece que se le dé una oportunidad.
