Vengeance Review ENG - ESP

I had been recommended to watch Vengeance which was a movie I like, one of those that go with my style and personality. "Vengeance" I thought it was one of those classic action movies. However, I was far from reality because, although the movie has action, it is not what you think it is.

Imagine you are a writer in New York, or some big metropolis, you are looking to stand out with a story that will catapult you to stardom, you live thinking day and night, but your ideas don't seem to be the great story you are chasing.

One day you get a call in the middle of the night saying that your girlfriend, the one you love so much, the one you are deeply in love with, the one you dream of marrying, has died. You have no idea what they are talking about, you have no idea which girl she is, because maybe you have only spent a couple of nights with her, nothing serious.

Without knowing how you get involved in a rather strange affair, a strange kind, but still agree to go to the funeral of this poor girl, your supposed girlfriend and then without looking for it the material for the story that you were looking for, comes to you without asking for it.

This girl's brother asks you to help him avenge his sister, because he has no proof but no doubts that his sister has been murdered, that the alleged reports that she died of an overdose are all a lie. It is here that the story of revenge begins and the story that will make everyone know you.

It is the best material for your Podcast, a story of a family looking for answers to their questions, people who because of their humble locality are not heard, who are colorful, who could have stepped out of some cartoon or something similar.

The creative style added to the stereotypes that can be detached from these people makes narcissism of this writer, who thinks he is a celebrity, see only the side that benefits him, because he believes that the story is developing perfectly, who cares about this girl, who cares about these people, who cares about the rest, he is self-absorbed, nothing else matters.

However, as the philosopher said, if you look too long into the abyss, the abyss will also look at you. For you will fall and become what you share it with. Ben doesn't realize when the abyss has looked back at him, and he feels that he already belongs to this community of cowboys full of stereotypes, so far removed from his reality.

Suddenly the story can wait, the podcast can wait, what he has come for was not a story with which to achieve fame, he has finally found himself, when his beliefs are confronted, when everything he believed in is brought down like a house of cards.

Suddenly he really wants to give a dignified closure to this case, he doesn't want this poor girl's death to go unpunished, like thousands of other cases just because they are in a far away place. He wants to get to the bottom of this once and for all.

This is the most cliché part of the movie where where everything goes right usually goes awry for the protagonist and he has to make more of an effort to get to the truth. Aunque no es malo es donde la película flaquea.

Veo creo que “Vengeance” es una de las mejores películas que he visto este año, es una película que quiere abarcar mucho, logra su cometido cumple y crees que aun pudo hacer más.

Me habían recomendado que mirara Vengeance que era una película de las que me gusta, de esas que van con mi estilo y mi personalidad. “Vengeance” pensé que era una película de acción de esas clásicas. Sin embargo, estaba muy alejado de la realidad pues, aunque la película lleva acción no es lo que se piensa.

Imagina que sos un escritor de Nueva York, o de alguna gran metrópolis, estás buscando como destacar con una historia que te catapulte que te lleve al estrellato, vivís pensando día y noche, pero tus ideas no parecen ser la gran historia que andás persiguiendo.

Un día recibís una llamada en mitad de la noche diciendo que tu novia, esa que tanto amás, de la que estás profundamente enamorado, con la que soñas casarte ha muerto. No tenés idea de lo que están hablando, no tenés idea de que chica es, pues quizás has pasado solo un par de noches con ella, nada serio.

Sin saber cómo te ves envuelto en un asunto bastante raro, un como extraño, pero aun así aceptar ir al funeral de esta pobre chica, tu supuesta novia y es entonces que sin buscarlo el material para la historia que tanto andabas buscando, llega a vos sin pedirlo.

El hermano de esta chica te pide que lo ayudes a vengar a su hermana, pues no tiene pruebas pero tampoco dudas que su hermana ha sido asesinada, que los supuestos informes que murió de sobredosis son toda una mentira. Es aquí que comienza la historia de la venganza y la historia que hará que todo el mundo te conozca.

Es el mejor material para tu Podcast, una historia de una familia buscando respuestas a sus preguntas, personas que por su humilde localidad no son escuchadas, que son pintorescas, que podrían haber salido de alguna caricatura o algo similar.

El estilo creativo sumado a los estereotipos que se pueden desprender de estas personas hace que narcisismo de este escritor, que se cree una celebridad, vea sola el lado que le beneficia a él, pues cree que la historia se va desarrollando a la perfección, que importa esta chica, que importa esta gente, que importa lo demás, el esta ensimismado nada más importa.

Sin embargo, como decía el filósofo si ves mucho tiempo al abismo el abismo también te mirará a vos. Pues caerás y te convertirás en aquello con lo que compartes. Ben no se da cuenta cuando el abismo lo ha mirado de regreso, y siente que ya pertenece a esta comunidad de vaqueros llenos de estereotipos, tan alejada a lo que es su realidad.

De pronto la historia puede esperar, el podcast puede esperar, lo que ha venido a buscar no era una historia con la que alcanzar la fama, finalmente se ha encontrado con el mismo, cuando sus creencias son confrontadas, cuando en todo lo que creía es derrumbado como un castillo de naipes.

De pronto de verdad le quiere dar un cierre digno a este caso, no quiere que la muerte de esta pobre chica quede en la impunidad, como miles de otros casos solo porque se encuentran en un lugar muy alejado. Quiere llegar al fondo de esto de una vez por todas.

Esta es la parte más cliché de la película en la que donde todo va bien suele torcerse para el protagonista y tiene que hacer un esfuerzo mayor para llegar a la verdad. Aunque no es malo es donde la película flaquea.

Veo creo que “Vengeance” es una de las mejores películas que he visto este año, es una película que quiere abarcar mucho, logra su cometido cumple y crees que aun pudo hacer más.
