Aki no Kanade - A Very Short Film But Full Of Drums [ENG -ESP]
Anime with a musical background are always interesting, although we can often find works that, in addition to having something related to music, also have a real background behind their development. Aki no Kanade is a bit difficult to categorize. Although it is labeled as a movie, it is difficult to consider it as such when it is only 25 minutes long. At the same time, it is an original story with no previous series to consider it an OVA or ONA. Something really curious is that Aki no Kanade belongs to a series of four short films financed by the Japanese government to promote the development of animators. Although they are short, it is still interesting that they were intended to help train future animators.
This short story introduces us to Aki Miyagawa, a young woman passionate about percussion and a member of a drum team in Tokyo who, despite doing what she loves, cannot yet make a living exclusively from her music. However, she now has the opportunity to return to her old town to help the high school drum group revive an old drum festival that was discontinued after an incident when she was just a little girl venturing into the world of drums.
As it is an incredibly short story, creating, developing, and finishing a story in 25 minutes is complicated, so everything is presented very quickly in the form of memories to learn a little about Aki's past, her passion for drums, and even the problems she had to face when she decided to dedicate her life to pursuing her dream of becoming a great drummer and making a living from her music. There is even a brief problem with her father, who apparently did not like drums very much.
Aki's past is interesting. It is admirable to see how she became passionate about drums from a young age and wanted to learn and practice as much as she could, even though it might not have been the most popular choice or something that her family, especially her father, fully supported. Her passion and dedication to music is admirable. The message it conveys is that you should be able to fight for and pursue your dreams, even if you know it won't be easy or that people close to you don't approve or don't think the same way you do. Despite having so few minutes to show her entire past, the result is quite entertaining and manages to generate emotions in the viewer. Although the ending may be somewhat simple and without major clues about what the future holds for Aki, it is more than understandable considering the limited time of the film.
Practically all the other characters are simply there to interact with Aki and fill out the story a bit. If there is barely enough time to show a little about the protagonist, creating stories for the other characters is simply impossible. Many have no more appearances than their introduction, and the vast majority are not even known by name. Despite being a work intended for the development of animators, the visual quality is quite good. The animator responsible, although perhaps not so well known, has actually created several anime that are quite good, at least visually, and Aki no Kanade is undoubtedly one of them. It is an entertaining story with an interesting background and very exciting scenes and moments, a film to watch at any time, especially considering its short length, comparable to a single episode of anime.

Los animes con algún trasfondo musical siempre son interesantes, aunque muchas veces podemos encontrar obras que además de tener algo relacionado con la música, también tienen algún trasfondo real detrás de su desarrollo. Aki no Kanade es una obra un poco complicada de catalogar, aunque está marcada como película es complicado considerarla una cuando apenas tiene una duración de 25min, pero al mismo tiempo es una historia original sin ninguna serie previa como para considerarla un OVA o ONA. Algo realmente curioso es que Aki no Kanade pertenece a una serie de 4 películas cortas financiadas por el gobierno japones para fomentar el desarrollo de animadores, aunque sean breves no deja de ser interesante que las mismas fueran destinadas a poder ayudar con la formación de futuros animadores.
Esta breve historia nos presentan a Aki Miyagawa, una joven apasionada por la percusión y miembro de un equipo de tambores de Tokio quien a pesar de hacer lo que ama aun no puede vivir exclusivamente de su música, pero que ahora se le presenta la oportunidad de volver a su antiguo pueblo para ayudar al grupo de tambores de la preparatoria a volver hacer un antiguo festival de tambores que luego de una eventualidad se dejo de hacer cuando ella era solo una pequeña niña que incursionaba en el mundo de los tambores.
Al tratarse de una historia increíblemente corta, el poder crear, desarrollar y finalizar una historia en 25min es algo complicado por lo cual todo se presenta de forma muy rápida en modo de recuerdos para conocer un poco del pasado de Aki, su pasión con los tambores y hasta los problemas que tuvo que enfrentar cuando decidió que su vida la dedicaría a buscar su sueño de ser una gran tamborera y vivir de su música, incluso se presenta una breve problemática con su padre quien al parecer no le gustaban mucho los tambores.
El pasado de Aki es interesante, ver como desde pequeña se apasiono por los tambores y quiso aprender y practicar tanto como pudiera, aun cuando podía no ser lo mas popular o incluso no ser algo que apoyara plenamente su familia en especial su padre, es admirable su pasión y entrega a la música, el mensaje que trasmite de ser capaz de luchar e ir en búsqueda de tus sueños así sepas que no será algo sencillo o que incluso personas cercanas a ti no aprueban o no piensa igual que tú, a pesar de contar con tan poco minutos para mostrar todo su pasado, el resultado es bastante entretenido y que logra generar emociones en el espectador. Aunque el final puede ser algo sencillo y sin mayores pistas sobre lo próximo que le depara el fututo a Aki, es algo mas que comprensible considerando el tiempo tan limitado de la película.
Prácticamente todos los demás personajes están simplemente para generar interacciones con Aki y rellenar un poco la historia, si apenas y hay tiempo para mostrar un poco sobre la protagonista, ahora el crear historias para los demás personajes es simplemente imposible, muchos no tienen más apariciones que su presentación y la gran mayoría ni se les conoce el nombre. A pesar de tratarse de una obra destinada al desarrollo de animadores, la calidad visual es bastante buena, la animadora responsable, aunque tal vez no sea tan conocida, la verdad tiene varios animes al menos a nivel visual bastante buenos y Aki no Kanade sin dudas es uno de ellos, una historia entretenida, con un trasfondo interesante y con escenas y momentos muy emocionantes, una película para ver en cualquier momento en especial considerando su duración tan corta comparable con un simple capítulo de anime.
