Go-Toubun No Hanayome Movie - The End Of A Story With Five Different Perspectives [ENG -ESP]
Romantic comedies have always been among my favorite anime, and although they always entertain me, sometimes the story can become a little monotonous as it progresses, or simply no longer evokes the same emotion. That's exactly what happened to me with Go-toubun no Hanayome, the series about the quintuplets. The first season was one of the anime series I remember liking the most, and I watched it almost in its entirety in a single day. However, as it progressed, I lost interest to such an extent that its movie has been out for a few years now, and it was only very recently that I finally decided to watch it. I even watched it in a couple of days because I couldn't get into it.
This movie was released in 2022 and concludes the story of the Go-toubun no Hanayome series. For those who don't know it, in a nutshell, it's about how five quintuplet sisters are really bad at school, and their stepfather decides to hire a tutor from their own school, Fuutarou, who has the best grades in the institution and now has to try to help them improve, All this is surrounded by many inconveniences, while at the same time he grows fond of them all and learns to understand their views on life. And like all harem romcoms, in the end they all develop romantic feelings for him. Something that was entertaining at first, but the ending of the movie felt improvised.
The story of the film begins with the preparations for the school festival, everyone's last big experience before leaving for college, and where we already had the premises of romantic declarations and approaches from Miku, Ichika, and Nino, each striving to win Fuutarou's love. At first, we see how Fuutarou and Yotsuba are in charge of preparing for the festival on behalf of their class and end up taking on many responsibilities while helping everyone else.
Initially, we are shown all the events leading up to the start of the festival, where, after the first day, Fuutarou promises them that he will respond to their declarations and tell them who he is in love with, but at the end of the festival. This begins a narrative style that is not very common, but although it is interesting, it can also be a little monotonous, as it tells the story of the school festival from the perspective of each of the quintuplets: Miku, Itsuki, Itchika, Nino, and Yotsuba. Although it allows for different perspectives from each of them and enables us to appreciate how each one really feels, in the end, I found it somewhat monotonous, as several scenes were repeated with the others present and only the protagonist changed.
Although this film is a bit long, lasting over two hours, it still feels like some stories or elements are a bit rushed, considering that it is the end of the story. I could feel this with Itsuki's perspective, where the quintuplets' biological father appears for the first time and tries to explain why he left and what his relationship with their mother was like. Although it is interesting, it is very brief and feels improvised, although it fulfills the objective of showing Itsuki's determination and making her decide on the direction she wants to take in her life. Similarly, another character appears who was Fuutarou's childhood friend, a character with such a brief appearance that they try to give her so much importance that the result is not entirely pleasing.
The ending of this film is quite peculiar. At the time, it was widely discussed and even questioned, and to my taste, it felt quite unexpected. To avoid spoilers, I won't mention who the quintuplet is that Fuutarou falls in love with, but personally, I found the development of their love to be extremely rushed and even absurd. Until practically the end of the last season, they showed no great interest in each other, and the final outcome is largely attributed to the fact that she was the one Fuutarou met as a child for one day. We can even see how she herself remains undecided about whether to accept his feelings and how her sisters, despite being sad about being rejected, support her in finding the confidence and even, in a way, force her to agree to go out with Fuutarou.
Without a doubt, Go-toubun no Hanayome is a very popular romantic comedy anime that I really enjoyed, although in a way, the ending feels like many aspects were left undeveloped. There were even moments where I felt the story was so forced that I simply stopped watching it to continue at another time. Similarly, the movie has some pretty funny moments and scenes, as well as incredible animation quality and very striking, colorful, and emotional scenes, especially in the final part of the movie. Perhaps the story could have been better for my taste, but it did fulfill the ending of the quintuplets' story.

I have never seen this many lol, it looks like a good story but average as you talked about the endings. It's not UpTo my taste but still I am curious and ready to explore it, thanks for the honest review it helps a lot.
The theme of quintuplets is peculiar, haha. I think it's not that common in harem anime. The story is interesting, although to be honest, the ending left me wanting more. I'm glad you liked the review :D
I don't appreciate harem that much, but if the storyline is good then I might watch it.
Is this a thriller or drama anime series? It seems pretty good, though
It's a harem romcom, it has two seasons and this movie, which is the end of the story. It's actually quite short and easy to watch :D
Productions with hasty closures are a disaster. It was unfortunate that this one had that outcome.
I really would have liked them to take the time to explain the characters in this movie more, and at least make a third season before this movie, showing how the quintuplet who marries the protagonist gradually develops her feelings, instead of making it seem like everything was hidden and then appeared improvised in the last few minutes.
