The human ambition for achievements beyond what is possible and fluid in nature is dressed up in this film. Elsa and Clive are a couple of brilliant scientists who experiment with creating "new beings". The primary intentions are that in the future they can be a focus that would revolutionize the pharmacological industry as a result of synthesizing proteins or discovering answers that help them to be the cure for degenerative diseases of humanity. Initially they experiment with a couple of beings that actually look like a big meat riot, but wanting to take things to another level, they become wacky scientists playing gods and giving birth to a different species that goes off the deep end. hands.

Splice is not a copy of other movies like Evolution (2001), where science fiction meets comedy. In this film, the true mixture of an ambition-driven plot, the inordinate splicing of carnal emotions and horror comes together. Elsa and Clive involve their DNA in the second round of artificial creation of a being, a kind of hybrid that fuses a large host of genes, which in the end do not even know themselves the characteristics that are ready to develop. The birth of the being, which they called ** Dren **, was spectacular from the beginning, being conceived in a kind of artificial womb and when she promptly begins labor, Elsa inserts her hand to verify the internal situation and is injured . At first, Dren seemed like some kind of mutagenic squirrel, but he soon grows up and develops a bond with Elsa, who keeps him hidden in the lab. Because in the end, playing gods in this way is illegal. Dren with Elsa's help develops basic knowledge faculties, and under this fact she develops a kind of maternal love, since she and Clive had no children of their own. On the other hand, Clive sees this as increasingly dangerous, since they could go to jail. Dren mysteriously fell ill, a kind of cold, the fever did not stop and a cold water bath was going to become the means of death, Clive tried to suffocate him, but as a quick event it happened that Dren was breathing underwater and everyone barely discovered him. In the same thread of this event, they later decide to take Dren out of the laboratory and take him to an old farm where Elsa had been raised. They set the barn, for a "teenage beast", but this as the first indication when she sees freedom she feels crazy and kills a forest animal. The blood and his smile for having done it, unleashed that he wanted to eat more than just tofu. Dren had reached a kind of adult stage, he understood many things, including carnal desire and what an enemy is on the ground. Elsa becomes his enemy and tries to kill him, at the tip of her tail she had a kind of poisonous sting with which she tried to hurt him. WTF? What is this? haha, I really can't help but remember the movie Species (1995), where there were these kinds of interspecies sexual scenes and it gave that touch of morbidity. Clive is apparently a thinking man, but he kneels before carnal desires and to make matters worse, Elsa arrives at that moment and surprises him. She obviously runs away upset, but the man tries to excuse himself. Wasn't she supposed to be like her daughter? Re-turbid.

But, I think that from now on comes the craziest part of the film, or the most creative. Elsa and CLive decide to murder Dren, believing they have done so they commonly bury him. Before long, Dren, who was assumed by the action to be female, changes on a hormonal level and develops a male version of himself. Just like animals with the ability to change sex, he is now a male and kills Clive and other people. He takes advantage of the event to rape Elsa, circumstantially she is the murderer. Dren impregnates him, because in the end, there was not only DNA from animal species, but also human.

Next, as the final scene, Elsa appears signing a juicy contract in exchange for giving the baby to science to be studied.

The film brings together scenes of disaster, because they are humans wanting to be Gods creating strange and confusing species. Anxiety for success at all costs makes the main characters blind and they carve out a path of death with a species that only attends to beast accents: compete, kill and reproduce. It is not a common science fiction film, it involves plot scenes mixed with suspense. Honestly if you leave the expectation and there are no strange jumps in the development, but rather a harmony mixed with intrigue. On the other hand, the attended call of Dren's growth, in addition to the factions and characteristics aligned to * "his kind of him" * allude to the detail and care of the directors for the magnification of the character.

What didn't I like?

The interspecies gap jump was a bit abrupt, but it still adds the icing on the cake. I think that beyond just a fiction, human beings enjoy the thought of events like these, they are fetishes. My thinking is not only limited by this film, but also by the existence of genres such as: Hentai- tentacles in any of its versions and others.

At another point, the continuation of a story that did not arrive. Splice comes to light in 2009, however its ending alludes to a second film. What happens to the son of Dren and Elsa? Is he human or is he a notorious hybrid? Does Elsa survive the birth? The second film never arrived, nor did the directors allow it to be covered by just anyone. Splice then is a book that closes and drowns in the doubt of after.

La ambición humana por logros más allá de la naturaleza posible y fluida, se viste de gala en este film. Elsa y Clive son una pareja de científicos brillantes que experimentan creando "nuevos seres". Las intenciones primordiales es que puedan a futuro ser un foco que revolucionaría la industria farmacológica a raíz de sintetizar proteínas o descubrir respuestas que los ayuden a ser la cura de enfermedades degenerativas de la humanidad. Inicialmente experimentan con una pareja de seres que parecen en realidad un gran tumulto de carne, pero al querer llevar las cosas a otro nivel, se convierten en científicos descabellados que juegan a ser dioses y dando origen a una especie diferente que se sale de las manos.

Splice no es una copia de otras películas como Evolution (2001), donde se unía la ciencia ficción con la comedia. En este film, se une la verdadera mezcla de un trama impulsado por la ambición, los empalmes desmesurados de las emociones carnales y horror. Elsa y Clive involucran de su ADN en la segunda ronda de creación artificial de un ser, una especie de híbrido que fusiona un gran albergue de genes, que al final no saben ni ellos mismos las características prontas a desarrollar. El nacimiento del ser, al que llamaron Dren, fue aparatoso desde el inicio, siendo concebido en una especie de útero artificial y cuando prontamente inicia el trabajo de parto, Elsa introduce la mano para verificar la situación interna y es herida. Decidieron asesinar el ser, pero no tuvieron el valor de deshacer lo "habían avanzado" y como a su vez, este presentaba una aceleración de envejecimiento o un crecimiento disparado, prefirieron observar el desarrollo de "la nueva vida".

Al inicio Dren parecía una especie de ardilla mutagenica, prontamente crece y desarrolla cierto vinculo con Elsa, quien la mantiene oculta en el laboratorio. Porque a la final, jugar a ser dioses de esta manera, es ilegal. Dren con ayuda de Elsa desarrolla facultades de conocimientos básicos, y bajo este hecho desarrolla una especie de amor maternal, puesto que ella y Clive no tenían hijos propios. Por otro lado, Clive ve esto cada vez más peligroso, puesto que podrían ir presos. Misteriosamente Dren enferma, una especie de catarro, la fiebre no cesaba y un baño de agua fría se iba a convertir en el medio de muerte, Clive intentaba asfixiarle, pero como suceso rápido acontece que Dren respiraba bajo el agua y todos lo descubrían apenas. En el mismo hilo de este suceso, después deciden sacar a Dren del laboratorio y llevarle a una granja antigua donde Elsa se había críado. Ambientaron el granero, para una "adolescente bestia", pero esta como primer indicio al ver la libertad se siente alocada y asesina un animal del bosque. La sangre y su sonrisa por haberlo hecho, desataron que más que solo tofu deseaba comer. Dren había llegado a una especie de etapa adulta, entendía muchas cosas, entre ellas el deseo carnal y lo que es una enemiga en el terreno. Elsa se convierte en su enemiga e intenta asesinarle, en la punta de la cola tenía una especie de aguijón venenoso con la que intentó herirle. La científica amaba a Dren, pero aún así la ató y la mutiló. Y es que no solo ella podría correr peligro, sino todos en cuestión. Elsa se ausenta del granero. Pero Dren aprovecha de seducir a Clive, quien se remide a sus deseos carnales y termina teniendo sexo con Dren.

¿WTF? ¿Qué es esto? jaja, realmente no puedo evitar recordar la película Especie (1995), donde había este tipo de escenas sexuales interespecie y daba ese toque de morbo. Clive aparentemente un hombre pensante, pero que se arrodilla frente a los deseos carnales y para más mala suerte, Elsa llega en ese momento y lo sorprende. Obviamente huye molesta de allí, pero el hombre intenta excusarse. ¿No se supone que era como su hija? Re-turbio.

Pero, creo que de ahora en adelante viene la parte más loca del film, o la más creativa. Elsa y CLive deciden asesinar a Dren, creyendo haberlo hecho le entierran comúnmente. Al poco rato, Dren que se suponía por la acción que era hembra, cambia a nivel hormonal y se desarrolla en sí una versión masculina. Así tal cual como los animales con capacidad de cambiar de sexo, ahora es macho y asesina a Clive y otras personas más. Aprovecha el suceso, para violar a Elsa, circunstancialmente esta la asesina. Dren le deja embarazada, porque a la final, no solo había ADN de especies de animales, sino también humana.

Seguidamente, como escena final, aparece Elsa firmando un jugoso contrato a cambio de dar el bebé a la ciencia para ser estudiado.

El film reúne escenas de desastre, porque son humanos queriendo ser Dioses creando especies extrañas y confusas. La ansiedad por el éxito a toda costa pone ciegos a los personajes principales y estos labran un camino de muerte con una especie que solo atiende tildes de bestia: competir, matar y reproducirse. No es un film común de ciencia ficción, conlleva escenas de trama mezcladas con suspenso. Sinceramente si deja a la expectativa y no hay saltos extraños en el desarrollo, sino más bien una armonía mezclada con intriga. Por otro lado, el atendido llamado del crecimiento de Dren, además de sus facciones y características alineadas a "su especie" aluden al detalle y cuidado de los directores por la magnificación del personaje.

¿Qué no me gustó?

El salto de brecha interespecie fue un poco abrupto, pero igualmente le da la cereza al pastel. Creo que más allá de solo una ficción, los seres humanos gozan el pensamiento de sucesos como estos, son fetiches. Mi pensamiento no solo se limita por el presente film, sino también por la existencia de géneros como: Hentai- tentáculos en cualquiera de sus versiones y otros.

En otro punto, la continuación de una historia que no llegó. Splice sale a la luz en el año 2009, sin embargo la terminación de la misma alude a una segunda película. ¿Qué sucede con el hijo de Dren y Elsa? ¿Es humano o es híbrido notorio? ¿Elsa sobrevive al parto?. La segunda película nunca llegó, tampoco los directores dejaron que se versionara a manos de cualquiera. Splice entonces es un libro que se cierra y se ahoga en la duda del después.
