RE: Death Note Review: Was Light Yagami Right All Along?
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
Death Note poses a very complicated dilemma: to what extent do the ends justify the means, and is the protagonist evil? If since its appearance, the crime rate dropped drastically all over the world.
This is why I was always team Kira, even though in the end I didn't really like what he was doing.
Personally, if I had a Death Note, the first name I would write would be Nicolas Maduro.
Excellent post, my friend.

Thanks for reading.
I love the anime because it pushes us to think beyond what we see.
If I had the death note, I think I will also do something to reduce the crime rate because its what is killing my country.
Indeed Death Note entertains viewers with intriguing moral dilemmas, but there is no question whether protagonist is evil or not: he is undeniably evil. He kills without hesitation, he kills innocents, he kills without due process, without Proportionality Principle (idea that punishment should be proportional to the crime), and he kills even those who were already convicted (e.g. prisoners). His sense of "justice" is certainly misguided.
