Greetings, HIVE friends. Today I want to share my experience with a movie that made me laugh and reflect on the importance of family and adventure. It is "The Croods", an animated movie that takes us back to the Stone Age and shows us the adventures of a caveman family struggling to survive and adapt to an ever-changing world. What a crazy ride this weird family has taken me on.

The film revolves around the Croods, a quirky family led by Grug, an overprotective father who would do anything to keep his family safe. Family members include Eep, the eldest and rebellious daughter; Thunk, the clumsy but lovable son; Sandy, the fierce baby; Ugga, the understanding and caring mother; and Gran, the grandmother who always has a quirky tip up her sleeve.

What really hooked me about "The Croods" was the dynamic between these characters. The curiosity and awkwardness between these and the beautiful graphics make you never lose interest in any moment. The relationship between Grug and Eep is especially touching, as it moves from being overprotective to one of mutual respect and trust.

One of the first things I noticed was the quality of the animation in this film. The prehistoric world we get to appreciate is full of detail and vibrant colors. The prehistoric creatures are imaginative and wacky, from crocodiles that look like a mix of dog and cat to birds with a mix of other species that constantly bring smiles to your face. Although I couldn't tell which are more rustic; the family or the animals themselves.

The prehistoric landscapes are breathtaking and make you feel like you are actually in that era. The animation captures the primitive beauty of nature.

Despite being a film aimed primarily at a younger audience, it seems to please; and appeals to a general audience; by not losing the humorous thread. As the Crood family is forced to leave their cave and venture into the unknown, they learn to adapt and trust each other more.

The adventure itself is exciting and full of unexpected twists and turns. From facing earthquakes to dealing with rival tribes, the Crood family doesn't have a moment's rest. Each challenge leads them to discover more about themselves and strengthen their family bonds. I was drawn to the feeling between Grug and Gran, the grandmother.
Humor and laughs:

One of the strengths of "The Croods" is its sense of humor. The movie is full of funny moments that made me laugh on several occasions. Gran, the grandmother, is a constant source of quirky advice and funny quips; she would be my favorite character. Thunk and his awkwardness are adorable and brought smiles out of me time and time again. But the undisputed champion of humor is Grug, whose over-the-top reactions to dangerous situations are simply hilarious.

Cast:
Nicolas Cage as Grug
Emma Stone as Eep
Ryan Reynolds as Guy
Catherine Keener as Ugga
Cloris Leachman as Gran
Clark Duke as Thunk Crood
Chris Sanders as Cinturon, the family pet
Randy Thom as Sandy

All in all, "The Croods" is an animated film that offers fun for all ages. With endearing characters, impressive animation and a message about bravery and adapting to change, this movie is a solid choice for a family night out or for those looking for a little adventure and laughs. It already has a sequel, although this one appealed to me much more as we had no idea what to expect.

So, if you are looking for a movie that will make you laugh and remind you of the importance of family and bravery, give "The Croods" a chance. You won't be disappointed and you'll have an entertaining time in the company of this peculiar prehistoric family.
