CineTV Contest #76: My Favorite Pirate Movie - Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge

The movie I have chosen to talk about is called Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge released in 2017 as my favorite pirate movie.
When I was a child may be 11 years old I stumbled upon a vhs of Cutthroat Island (1995) which starred the then super star Geena Davis but it was not for her that I watched the movie as I was a little kid; I fact enjoyed the movie a lot and thought to my self back then that this was the best pirate movie I have ever seen well growing up I kept stumbling upon sequel after sequel of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise and somehow my favorite movie is the fifth movie in the series.

Main Highlights about the movie

• Well even though I hate Johnny Depp thanks to his personal life feud with Amber Heard I must say he is back as Black Sparrow and the usual comedic value is back as well his acting is simply superb some how people forget that he used to star in the tim burton movies this performance of his even over values all his previous performances to date really.
• The villain is top notch played by a great actor in this movie and has super natural stuff involved in it as well.
• All major previous cast members from the franchise are back in action which makes it quite entertaining.
• The plot is very good, entertaining and adventure-filled and you will really enjoy it.
• Kaya Scodelario plays a major role in the movie which is a delight for me as she is one of my favorite actresses.

Why I find the movie the most interesting in the franchise

• If you liked the movies and have some sort of connection with the cast of the previous movies then of course you will love this one as well, especially Jack Sparrow's pirate character.
• Javier Bardem as captain Salazar is a treat of a villain to watch out for and his interaction with the main character Jack Sparrow is some thing really to enjoy in the movie.
• The movie has a bit of a dark tone to it than the previous movies which means there are elements of comedy but the dark tone over takes that which means the movie becomes more gripping.
• The special effects team did a great job with this movie and you will enjoy the spectacle if you watch it.
• They never forgot to add the element of humor which made the previous movies in the franchise a success meaning the formula is not disturbed here as well.

According to the Box Office Mojo website this movie made 795 million dollars in the worldwide box office

Conclusion

The movie is well made and if you are into the pirate movies genre then you will love this one just make sure to watch in 4k to take full pleasure from the viewing experience.
