I was curious about how they were going to make the scenes under the sea, because the actors were not comic book on this occasion, I know that there are special effects and live action animations but I wanted to see how they had managed to present the final product, I think that the companies in charge of the animations like Industrial Light & Magic and Moving Picture Company did their job well although sometimes the scenes resembled the AI images that in my opinion are usually very artificial but I think they fulfilled the objective.
The character that I enjoyed the most in live action animation was Sebastian, in fact I was also curious about how they were going to manage to give life to this peculiar little crab and I think they adapted him very well from a real crab, in relation to Flounder this time I was not convinced, he did not stand out as he did in the previous film, the little fish of the original cartoon was full of life, more mischievous and scary in this remake I think he did not stand out as the one in the initial version.
Now I am going to focus on the controversy generated by the actress for her colour phenotype that is very different to the initial character of the cartoon, personally I am not complaining about the colour of the skin of the actress, I think she has a very nice skin colour and a healthy body and as it is a remake I think there can be some changes, however I have to emphasize that they should have paid more attention to the hair of the actress, I don't understand why they let the actress show a messy hair, the colour should have been red, I think that a good stylist would have achieved a more beautiful hair, they should also have made up the actress a little more, especially the eyebrows and fix her teeth a little bit.
With respect to the music, it didn't call my attention, they should have put a more current music, sometimes I felt a note too high for my taste, a little shrill, I really wasn't convinced by the music, I think they could have done a better job in my opinion.
Some characters in the story did not convince me, like the role of Queen Selina who was the adoptive mother of Prince Eric, I did not agree that the role was played by a woman of colour, it seemed a little out of context, her role was not credible, Noma Dumezweni did not fit the role, she did not resemble a queen, she looked more like a lower class lady who goes shopping at the market, but she didn't look like a queen, I think they forced the story there, another thing that I looked at with astonishment was the costumes that they put on Queen Selina and Ariel, for God's sake with so many world class fashion designers they couldn't get a better model of dresses for them, when I saw them with those dresses it seemed like rare.
Continuing in the line of the characters I think they got it right with the character of Ursula, played by the actress Melissa McCarthy, here they looked for a similar phenotype that resembles the character of the original film, I think the actress did a wonderful job and above all credible, I liked her a lot, her make-up was impeccable.
The prince, the actor Jonah Hauer King was in accordance with the character, unfortunately the script was quite outdated, I think that if they had given him a touch of actuality and more realism he would not have supported the same worn out tale of the blue princes, however, the actor shone with his character of adventurer and explorer of the seas.
As for the plot in general, they stuck to the original story that most of us who saw the Little Mermaid already know, such as Ariel's determination to know the world outside the sea, to the point of becoming obsessed with humans, deciding to sacrifice her kingdom and leave her family to become human, She also entrusted her future to her aunt Ursula, who was banished by King Triton, disobeying and distrusting her father's decisions, turning her back on all the care and life she had under the sea for a man she had barely seen.
Overall I enjoyed seeing the Little Mermaid again with real actors and actresses however I thought the story was going to be a bit different and updated, but despite all the aforementioned blunders I thought actress Halle Bailey did a good job, for me she was believable, I thought every actor did a good job, unfortunately the only character that didn't fit well in my brain was Queen Selina and Flounder.
I particularly enjoyed the film and had a lot of fun even though I keep the thoughts of the prince and princess stories a little outdated, however, watching The Little Mermaid brought back fond memories of when I was a little girl and firmly believed in the fantasies that Disney instilled through their animations.
If I had to give you my honest opinion I don't understand the reason for so many criticisms and dislikes made to the film and especially to the character played by the actress Halle Bayle just because of how she looked and not because of the development of her performance that in my opinion was credible giving life in a sincere way to her performance.
If I had to give the film a score I would give it an 8 out of 10 and not for the performances themselves, but for the predictable flaws that the director had by not taking care of simple aspects that could have made the difference and the lack of daring to incorporate a touch of actuality to the story, but otherwise I think that an effort was made for the remake of The Little Mermaid that I hope can raise all the funds invested in the making of this film.
As a final fact it is necessary to point out that Disney's president of diversity and inclusion Latondra Newton was fired from her position due to the poor reception given to this film by the public and thedue to the constant exaggerated changes she has made in the films incorporating inclusion in an explicit way which led to the rejection and failure of each of the films in which she was involved for 6 consecutive years, let's hope that Disney improves and offer the public new stories full of emotion as we have been used .

No podía dejar pasar esta oportunidad para escribirles acerca de mis pensamientos con respecto a la tan cuestionada película La Sirenita, en realidad tenía mucha curiosidad por ver la película ya que quería averiguar el por qué de tantas críticas y los más de tres millones de dislikes que obtuvo la película señalando a la productora de Walt Disney Pictures desatinada en la realización de algunas películas que han tenido un fracaso en los últimos años.
Tenía curiosidad de como iban a realizar las escenas bajo el mar, porque los actores no eran de comiquita en esta ocasión, sé que existen los efectos especiales y las animaciones en live action pero quería ver cómo se las habían ingeniado para presentar el producto final, creo que las empresas encargadas de las animaciones como Industrial Light & Magic y Moving Picture Company hicieron bien su trabajo aunque a veces las escenas se asemejaban a las imágenes de IA que a mi parecer suelen ser muy artificiales pero creo que cumplieron con el objetivo.
El personaje que más disfrute en animación de live action fue a Sebastián, de hecho también tenía una curiosidad inicial de cómo se las iban a arreglar para darle vida a este peculiar cangrejito y creo que lo adaptaron muy bien de un cangrejo real, en relación a Flounder esta vez no me convenció no sobresalía como lo hizo la película anterior, el pececito de la comiquita original era más lleno de vida, mas travieso y asustadizo en este remake creo que no se destacó como el de la versión inicial.
Ahora me voy a enfocar en la controversia generada por la actriz por su fenotipo de color que es muy diferenciado al personaje inicial de la comiquita, personalmente no me quejo del color de tez de la actriz, creo que tiene un color de piel muy bonito además de un cuerpo saludable y como es un remake creo que pueden haber algunos cambios sin embargo tengo que destacar que debieron poner más atención al cabello de la actriz, , con tanta tecnología a nivel capilar y tanto cabello hermoso, liso y largo que venden por allí no entiendo porque dejaron que la actriz mostrara un cabello desarreglado, el color debió ser rojo, creo que un buen estilista hubiese logrado un cabello más bonito también debieron maquillar un poco más a la actriz, sobre todo las cejas y arreglar un poco sus dientes.
Con respecto a la música, no me llamo la atención, debieron poner una música más actual, en ocasiones sentí una que otra nota muy alta para mi gusto, un tanto chillona, realmente no me convenció la música, creo que se pudo hacer un mejor trabajo según mi opinión.
Algunos personajes de la historia no me convencieron, como el papel de la reina Selina que era la madre adoptiva del príncipe Eric, no estuve de acuerdo que el papel lo realizara una mujer de color, me pareció un poco fuera de contexto, su papel no fue creíble, Noma Dumezweni no encajaba en ese papel, no se asemejaba a una reina, se parecía más a una señora de clase baja que va de compras al mercado, pero porte de reina no tenia, creo que allí forzaron la historia, otra de las cosas que mire un poco con asombro fue el vestuario que le pusieron a la reina Selina y a Ariel, por Dios con tantos diseñadores de moda de talla mundial no pudieron conseguir un mejor modelo de vestidos para ellas, cuando las vi con esos vestidos me parecieron raros.
Siguiendo en la línea de los personajes creo si atinaron con el personaje de Ursula, realizado por la actriz Melissa McCarthy , aquí si buscaron un fenotipo similar que se asemeja al personaje de la película original, creo que la actriz realizo un trabajo maravilloso y sobretodo creíble, me gustó mucho, su maquillaje fue impecable.
El príncipe, el actor Jonah Hauer King estuvo acorde al personaje, lamentablemente el guion era bastante desactualizado, creo que, si le hubiesen dado un toque de actualidad y más realismo no hubiese soportado el mismo cuento desgastante de los príncipes azules, sin embargo, el actor se lució con su personaje de aventurero y explorador de los mares.
En cuanto a la trama en general, se apegaron a la historia original que la mayoría de los que vimos a la Sirenita ya conocemos, como el empeño de Ariel por conocer el mundo fuera del mar, al grado obsesionarse por los humanos decidiendo sacrificar su reino y dejar a su familia por volverse humana, además de confiar su futuro a su tía Ursula que estaba desterrada por el rey Tritón, desobedeciendo y desconfiando de las decisiones de su padre, dándole la espalda a todos los cuidados y vida que tenía bajo el mar por un hombre que apenas si había visto.
En términos generales me gusto ver la Sirenita de nuevo con actores y actrices reales sin embargo pensaba que la historia iba a ser un poco diferente y actualizada, pero a pesar de todos los desatinos antes mencionados creo que la actriz Halle Bailey hizo un buen trabajo, para mí fue creíble, creo que cada actor realizo un buen trabajo, lamentablemente el único personaje que no encajo bien en mi cerebro fue el de la reina Selina y Flounder.
Particularmente disfruté de la película y me divertí mucho a pesar de que conservo los pensamientos de los cuentos de príncipes un poco desactualizada, sin embargo, ver La Sirenita trajo a mi mente buenos recuerdos de cuando era pequeña y creía firmemente en las fantasías que inculcaba Disney a través de sus animaciones.
Si tuviera que darles mi opinión sincera no entiendo la razón de tantas críticas y dislikes realizados a la película y sobre todo al personaje que interpreto la actriz Halle Bayle solo por como lucia y no por el desarrollo de su actuación que a mi parecer insisto fue creíble dando vida de una forma sincera a su actuación.
Si tuviera que darle un puntaje a la película le daría un 8 de 10 y no por las actuaciones en sí, sino por las fallas tan predecibles que tuvo el director al no cuidar aspectos tan sencillos que pudieron hacer la diferencia y la falta de osadía para incorporarle a la historia un toque de actualidad, pero por lo demás creo que se realizó un esfuerzo por el remake de La Sirenita que espero que pueda recaudar todos los fondos invertidos en la realización de esta película.
Como dato final es necesario destacar que la presidente de la diversidad e inclusión de Disney Latondra Newton fue despedida de su cargo debido a la poca acogida que le dio parte del publico a esta pelicula y a los constantes cambios exagerados que ha realizado en las películas incorporando la inclusión de una forma explícita lo que llevo al rechazo y fracaso de cada una de las películas en las que intervino por 6 años consecutivos, ojala Disney ofrezca al publico nuevas historias llenas de emocion como nos tenia acostumbrado en los años pasados.
