Hola mis queridos amigos, amantes del medio audiovisual, deseando que les vaya bien, dando pasos firmes hacia las metas que se han propuesto. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi experiencia, viendo esta película llamada Old, estrenada este año y dirigida por M. Night Shyamalan, y déjenme decirles que me movió lo más profundo de mis fibras, aunque no para llorar, pero sí me hizo reflexionar sobre el costo de todo lo que hoy tenemos y no nos detenemos a pensar lo que implica tenerlo hoy a nuestro alcance.

Hello my dear friends, lovers of the audiovisual media, wishing you well, taking firm steps towards the goals you have set. Today I want to share with you my experience, watching this movie called Old, released this year and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and let me tell you that it moved the deepest of my fibers, although not to cry, but it made me reflect on the cost of everything we have today and we do not stop to think what it entails to have it today at our fingertips.

No hay una sola persona en el mundo que no sufra una patología, por simple que sea una migraña, o que tenga un familiar que desgraciadamente haya perdido en la muerte por culpa de ella. Sé que comparto que todos haremos lo posible para que este problema desaparezca o al menos se minimice al máximo, y para ello recurriremos a cualquier tratamiento que la ciencia nos proporcione hoy en día, pero ¿nos hemos parado a pensar en las circunstancias de estos estudios?

There is not a single person in the world who does not suffer from a pathology, no matter how simple a migraine, or has a family member who has unfortunately lost in death because of it. I know that I share that we will all do what we can to help this problem to go away or at least to minimize it as much as possible, and for this we will resort to any treatment that science provides us today, but have we stopped to think about the circumstances of these studies?

Quiero expresar que ver esta película me hizo reflexionar sobre la delgada línea que existe entre nuestros sentimientos y lo que es correcto, donde la ética parece ser solo una palabra a la que muchos no le dan importancia cuando se trata de conseguir sus objetivos o dinero sin escatimar el dolor o las muertes que esto pueda causar, me transporto a la época en la que la historia denomina los avances más notorios de la medicina y me refiero a los nazis, donde se practicaban operaciones que hoy en día son comunes y salvan muchas vidas, pero en esa época las practicaban en contra del paciente haciéndolo sufrir al máximo.

I want to express that watching this movie made me reflect on the thin line between our feelings and what is right, where ethics seems to be just a word that many do not give importance when it comes to achieving their goals or money without sparing the pain or deaths that this may cause, I am transported to the time when history calls the most notorious advances in medicine and I am talking about the Nazis, where they practiced operations that nowadays are commonplace and save many lives, but at that time they practiced them against the patient making him suffer to the maximum.

Un tema muy delicado ya que los sentimientos juegan un papel muy importante y esta película me lo transmitió, y pensar que en muchos casos hemos sido conejillos de indias y para colmo sin darnos cuenta, es cierto que durante estas pruebas algunos pueden reaccionar bien, pero un gran número hasta millones son pruebas sustituibles que acaban muriendo, prueba y error. Quiero terminar con una reflexión, en mi caso como padre buscaría el mejor tratamiento que se me ofrezca hoy para ayudar a mis hijos. Pero ¿Cuántos niños tuvieron que morir en esas pruebas? O peor aún si mis hijos estuvieran en ese grupo de niños.

A very delicate subject since feelings play a very important role and this film transmitted it to me, and to think that in many cases we have been guinea pigs and to top it off without realizing it, it is true that during these tests some may react well, but a large number up to millions are replaceable tests that end up dying, trial and error. I want to end with a reflection, in my case as a parent I would look for the best treatment offered to me today to help my children. But how many children had to die in those tests? Or even worse if my children were in that group of children.

Quiero aclarar que no estoy en contra de la ciencia ni de sus tratamientos, porque hoy en día muchas vidas se han alargado gracias a su uso, pero no he podido evitar ser realista de todo lo que su éxito conlleva hoy en día, ver su lado turbio. Por eso, amigos, les invito a ver esta película donde afloran nuestros sentimientos y donde, en algunos casos, podrán entender mi reflexión.

I want to clarify that I am not against science or its treatments, because today many lives have been extended by its use, but I could not help but be realistic of all that its success entails today, to see its murky side. Therefore, my friends, I invite you to watch this film where our feelings come to the surface and where, in some cases, you will be able to understand my reflection.
