I just wanted to do a quick post about Hivefest, sitting at my PC at 5 AM in the morning sick and dealing with jet lag.
This will be one of those posts put together poorly with an insignificant number of good jokes.

What can I say...

Hivefest, like every year was great. It was all well organized and enjoyable. Not having Roeland at the helm might have been slightly odd for some people but Matt and Detlev did such a good job that you couldnt say anything was lacking in regards to quality of hosting. The presentations were engaging and people in a generally good mood.
The area we were in was definitely different than the one from last years Hivefest in Amsterdam. I personally didn't leave the confines of the resort further than 100 meters.
Seeing a 5 man armed patrol in a pickup truck with machine guns passing by the hotel every day is something I did not appreciate one bit. It definitely does not motivate you to explore. 😅

The Mexicans I met were generally warm and cordial people.
The food was decent although the portions are extremely small for some reason. Strangely small. I found that extremely odd. And its everywhere you order, same thing.
Just make the tortilla bigger. Put more stuff in it.😅
The food is definitely different tasting then what Im used to but I found it pretty enjoyable trying it all out. I wouldnt say I would eat it on a daily basis but I would recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new.

When it comes to drinking:
I have to be honest and say that the beer every bar and restaurant offered, called Modelo, was just terrible and 1 glass of white wine gave me acid reflux so bad on the last day that I literally ran from the bus into a pharmacy to pick up anything that could save me.
The Mojitos and Margaritas on the other hand are definitely the way to go. Some of the best Ive ever had.

The Freechain premiere went amazingly. Matt honored everybody with a red carpet as well. 😎
Quite an experience.
Me and Jovan were extremely happy with how the film was received and with the comments we got. Im still looking for some videos from the Q&A so you guys see the initial responses but there is a livestream available, taken by @neopch where he asks questions of the people leaving the premiere.

I wont go into much detail, you can watch the video for that.
Right now we are working to get the film seen by a wider audience, talking to distributors to see if theyre interested in picking up the film. At the latest you will be able to watch it during some of the upcoming film festivals I will share in future updates.

Some other things that were interesting.
Blocktrades literally destroying everyone at table-tennis. I kind of felt bad for his opponents.😅
Hes like this calm guy usually. Ping-Pong turns him beast mode.
TCMDan lost a poker tournament which surprised me. (I think he let them win😉)

The heated pools were really fun. Last 2 days I think we just sat in them until we were cooked and couldnt move anymore. Me and Jovan shared it with 2 Susans one evening. American retirees living in Mexico. They tried to get us drunk.

The castle we went to for drinks after the film was gorgeous. I kind of wanted to see more of those kinds of things. I love historical looking buildings. It gives you a taste of the culture.

Ill probably think of some more things over time. I didnt want to ping everyone since the post isnt my best work 😂 but in case some of them read it... yeah... the guys organizing this did an amazing job, put in so much effort and it showed. Matt, Dan, Dans wife, Eddie, etc... everyone involved.

What a great organozation HIVE Fest is. People go to it also experince the culture of the country where it is held. I hope I will be able to join it some day when it is held somewhere in Europe.

Thanks for the post!

The only way possible to honor the work you and @little.lamb did at the fest was with a red carpet and live stream interviews. Loved your interview with @neopch too. Unfortunately the live stream of your after premier questions didn't air, but we do have the recording, so will be great content. Stay tuned, we will handle it with due time.

Really appreciate you coming and your work on Freechain certainly did the community justice. Respect!

At times, I get jealous of people who attended the Hivefest, lol
I wish I did
Nice pictures!

Sounds like a missed a good one. It looks like there were less people there, but I'm sure the conversations were great anyway. Hivers are cool people.

Wishing you all the best with the film.

The event looks amazing in photos, I can't imagine what it would have been like to be there.

The photos you share with us are very nice. Seeing the picture of the Mojito made me want to have a drink. 🤭🫣

Greetings! ✨

Glad to hear everything went fine, security would be one of my concerns in that area as well. Hoping to be able to see the masterpiece in a near future! !BEER

It's an amazing piece of work. I can't wait for the bigger audience to see it and hear what they think of it. And I'd actually pay money to see Justin's face when he sees it...
