Star Trek Picard Season 3 isnt absolute horseshit.

I consider myself a big Star Trek fan. Over the years Ive probably rewatched all the series multiple times. Considering that "Deep Space 9" is the best of the lot I think ive watched it the most.

So when Picard was announced I was obviously excited. Little did I know that Star Trek Picard would be even worse than the Discovery abomination. Alex Kurtzman is the undertaker of franchises and he has almost put this one in the grave as well.

After season 1 and 2 of Picard, and Discovery how ever many seasons, I didnt think I would return to season 3. But like a beaten wife always returning to her abusive husband I always give Star Trek another chance.
Its going to be different this time.

Season 3:

After watching the first episode of this season I can say that they are starting off better than expected. My expectations were about as close to zero you can get so that might play a part in it but this still felt more like Star Trek than previous seasons.
Sure, everything is still stupidly dark to a point that you wonder how anyone sees anything on the bridge. The guy doing their color correction needs to be thrown out the nearest airlock. Picard is still mopey in his line delivery.
But the way the episode is structured visually is very Star Trek. Kurtzmans Trek always had idiotic filler dialog where everyone cries, is super emotional and annoying while nothing of any consequence is said. Here, the filler are beautiful shots like seeing the space station, or exiting the dock. There is a sense of awe.
You can actually see the ships, theyre not just a blur in the background and they look like Federation ships. That is what gives the universe of Star Trek life.

They dropped almost all characters from season 1 and 2. Rafi is still there to my disappointment since she was the worst of them. Her scenes slow down the plot a bit and I couldnt wait to get her off my screen.
Riker and Crusher both were convincing in their old roles. Out of the 3 TNG actors Picard is least like his old self. I mean Patrick Stewart is 82 years old so that might be partially at fault.

I wont go into the story too much but since the story arc is season long not much actually happened honestly. Picard and Riker met, boarded a ship and went of to find Crusher.

I still prefer episodic Trek but that kind of stuff is harder to write, im sure. Instead of 20+ stories old Star Trek had per season you just need 1 here in a 10 episode season.

Im still looking forward to seeing if this course correction continues.

I almost don't believe you, haha. I tried giving it a chance when it came out too, but I just could not get into it. I find I just forever cycle between TNG, DSN and Voyager.

Did you see Lower Decks too?

I havent watched the new cartoons that came out. No.
Strange New Worlds I watched last. This is at least on par with that.

I mean, I was surprised as well.

I haven't seen this season at first but the way you say you've seen it so many times means it's very interesting to hear and I'll try to catch it this weekend. Must watch on Amazon Prime. I'll let you know how I feel after watching it.

Interesting that this Star Trek Picard exists, and it already has 3 seasons 😮 . Too bad I don't have Amazon Prime to watch it 🥺. I liked reading about this series anyway, I've seen a few seasons of Star Trek especially on tv the old series.

Greetings and Blessings.
