Muchas veces me he preguntado cuándo voy a dejar ir algunas series viejas, pero la verdad es que estas alturas ya no me preocupa demasiado. Varias veces les he comentado que una de las series de mi infancia, era el Winx Club. La cual he visto honestamente como tres veces, por lo menos hasta la temporada seis, cuando comenzó a dar cringe ya para la gente, un poquito más adulta. Esta es una serie animada que trata de hadas, pero los problemas que sucedían en la misma serie eran muy como para adolescentes, no era tanto para niñas, entonces eso generó un público bastante grande. Por eso es que yo le he visto como unas tres o cuatro veces, a lo largo de mi vida, la compañía de Netflix le trató de hacer un live action, que no tuvo vida porque duró solo una temporada, y aunque tenía muchísimos errores, podía funcionar como una serie independiente, pero le tuvieron miedo al éxito y la cancelaron.

I've often wondered when I'm going to let go of some old series, but the truth is, I'm not too worried about it at this point. I've told you several times that one of the series from my childhood was Winx Club. I've honestly watched it about three times, at least up until season six, when it started to get cringey for more grown-up people. This is an animated series about fairies, but the problems that happened in the series were very teenage-friendly, not so much for little girls, so that generated a pretty big audience. That's why I've watched it about three or four times throughout my life. Netflix tried to make a live-action version, which didn't last because it only lasted one season. And although it had a lot of flaws, it could have worked as a standalone series, but they were afraid of success and canceled it.

Ahora, los creadores de la misma serie, que es una compañía de Italia, si no estoy equivocada, sé que la persona como encargada que más se nombra es un señor llamado Ignio, decidieron hacerle un Reboot. Esto significa que iban a tomar la historia original, iban a animarla nuevamente y también le iban a cambiar algunas cosas. Obviamente, todo siendo muy crónicos, ya que son los creadores de la misma serie. Yo no sabía dónde verla, ya que eso sí iba a estrenar en otro lado del mundo, pero en Netflix subieron la primera parte, así que decidí verla un día que no tenía nada que hacer. No le voy a contar qué sucede en esta historia, porque es una serie viejísima, además, ya he hablado de ella, un par de veces, en términos generales, trata de un grupo de amigas, hadas todas, que cada uno tiene un poder particular, y obviamente todas tienen su historia y se hacen amigas en la escuela privadas de alfa. También hay especialistas, que son como chicos que entrenan para luchar contra las fuerzas del mal, pero sin poderes, y también están las brujas, que son como al lado maligno de la historia, pero que también tienen su escuela llamada torre nubosa.

Now, the creators of the same series, which is an Italian company, if I'm not mistaken, I know the person most named in charge is a man named Ignio, decided to reboot it. This means they were going to take the original story, reanimate it, and also change some things. Obviously, all very carefully, since they are the creators of the same series. I didn't know where to watch it, since it was going to premiere somewhere else in the world, but Netflix uploaded the first part, so I decided to watch it one day when I had nothing to do. I'm not going to tell you what happens in this story because it's a very old series. Besides, I've already talked about it a couple of times. In general terms, it's about a group of friends, all fairies, each with a particular power, and obviously they all have their own story and become friends at Alfa's private school. There are also specialists, who are like children who train to fight the forces of evil, but without powers, and there are also witches, who are like the evil side of the story, but who also have their school called Cloud Tower.

Entonces habla más de las principales diferencias. El cómo Bloom, que es la protagonista, descubre sus poderes, ya siendo una humana como muy corriente, según ella, ya que vivía en la tierra y no tenía conocimiento de hadas, es un poco similar. Pero el como llega a Alfea, cambia un poquito. El como las chicas se hacen amigas, también cambió bastante y obviamente la escuela y todo el sistema de magia lo cambiaron muchísimo. Ya que originalmente las brujas y las hadas estaban separadas, de hecho estaban peleadas, pero en este Reboot decidieron cambiar la historia dando entender que las fuerzas de la luz vencieron a la oscuridad, hace muchísimo tiempo, llegando a un tratado también en donde las brujas tienen que asistir a Alfea, caso de que todas existieran en paz, con su luz y su oscuridad. También nos introducen a hechiceros o hados (que antes no había) y especialistas mujeres que tampoco había. También otras criaturas mágicas que nunca antes habían sido mencionadas y obviamente, como las villanas en la historia original tenían su escuela parte, que eran las Trix (Icy, Darcy y Stormi) en este Reboot están estudiando en la misma escuela, entonces como se vuelven enemigas públicas, también sucede diferente.

Then it talks more about the main differences. How Bloom, the protagonist, discovers her powers, already a very ordinary human, according to her, since she lived on Earth and had no knowledge of fairies, is somewhat similar. But how she arrives at Alfea changes a little. How the girls become friends also changed quite a bit, and obviously the school and the entire magic system changed a lot. Originally, witches and fairies were separate—in fact, they were at odds—but in this reboot, they decided to change the story, implying that the forces of light defeated the darkness a long time ago, also reaching a treaty whereby witches have to attend Alfea, in case they all existed in peace, with their light and their darkness. They also introduce us to sorcerers or fairies (which didn't exist before) and female specialists, who also didn't exist. Also other magical creatures that had never been mentioned before and obviously, as the villains in the original story had their school part, which were the Trix (Icy, Darcy and Stormi) in this Reboot are studying in the same school, so as they become public enemies, it also happens differently.

Obviamente, también tenemos un montón de detalles que cambian muchísimo la trama original, como el hecho de qué Sky, que es el interés amoroso de Bloom, en esta Reboot tiene novia y en la historia original, no, o sea hacen novios sin ningún problema, luego si tienes algún problema, pero eso es otra historia. También el hecho de que los especialistas y las hadas de un principio, como que no tienen tanta confianza, y en la serie original, sí, de hecho, todos son amigos, y después todo se vuelven parejas. Aparte de que Bloom tiene como un secreto que ella no conoce, de su verdadero origen, de sus verdaderos padres, y todo eso, en esta historia tratan de adelantar un poquito eso, y también le incluyen un hermano gemelo, que obviamente, eso nunca existió. No me parece descabellado, no me molesta. Creo que lo que he visto, por ahora, no me molestaba demasiado, me ha gustado bastante y siento que puede funcionar como una historia independiente. A mí me gusta muchísimo separar las cosas, no me gusta pensar en adaptaciones ni cambios que afectan al canon original, cuando son historias que ya están demasiado establecidas y que sabemos que nunca va a ser igual. En este caso, me divertí, sentí que no fue tan malo y la animación no se ve para nada infantil. Yo voy a esperar que estrene en la segunda parte, creo que son 26 capítulos en total y me lo voy a ver para darle mis opiniones finales. Obviously, we also have a ton of details that change the original plot a lot, like the fact that Sky, who is Bloom's love interest, has a girlfriend in this reboot, whereas in the original story, she doesn't. I mean, they get engaged without any problem. Later, you do have some issues, but that's a different story. Also, the fact that the specialists and the fairies don't seem to have that much confidence in each other at first, whereas in the original series, yes, in fact, they're all friends, and then they all become couples. Aside from Bloom having a kind of secret that she doesn't know about—her true origins, her real parents, and all that—in this story, they try to tease that out a little bit, and they also include a twin brother, who obviously never existed. I don't think it's crazy, it doesn't bother me. I think what I've seen, so far, hasn't bothered me too much. I quite liked it, and I feel like it could work as a standalone story. I really like separating things. I don't like thinking about adaptations or changes that affect the original canon when they're stories that are already so established and we know they'll never be the same. In this case, I had fun, I felt it wasn't that bad, and the animation doesn't look childish at all. I'm going to wait for the second part to premiere; I think there are 26 chapters in total.
