Ratatouille Enseñanzas e Inspiración por parte de Disney | Ratatouille Teachings and Inspiration by Disney

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

No siempre.

Hello friends, good morning everyone and welcome to this post of appreciation to what is currently one of my favorite animated films, and I'm talking about nothing more and nothing less than Ratatouille without further ado, let's savor this article and let's get to it.

The first meeting wasn't so good.

Well, just as you read it, despite the great appreciation I have for this movie, at first I didn't think it was a big deal, for me, it was just another Disney and Pixar movie, but after watching it a few more times and a few years went by, I finally understood many of the messages, reflections, inspirations and teachings hidden in this great work and even so, I think I haven't discovered them all yet.
But what happened that made me appreciate this production more?
The answer is simple, I grew up and started working as a cook, thanks to my experiences when I was a cook I could understand the plot even better, this because it became easier for me to identify with each of the characters and identify other people I met while working with other characters, now, I have mentioned a lot about the teachings and inspiration, but what are these? Well, let's describe them below

Always, wherever you go you will be underestimated.

This is made very clear to us at the beginning of the movie, From Remy who is underestimated by his father, Linguini by Chef Skinner and the other cooks, Collete who despite being able to take the reins of the restaurant, is the one who is put in charge of the rookies, and basically all the small restaurants in the area are looked down upon by Ego, the culinary critic.

Surprises come when and from where they are least expected.

This is the central theme of the film and we see it throughout the film, Whether good or bad surprises don't wait for you to be ready to receive them, they just come without warning and it's something that this production makes very clear to us, just to mention a few are: Linguini watching a rat cook, Remy discovering how to control Linguini's body so they can both fulfill their dream of being able to cook, Collete falling in love and leaving Linguini only to return, Chef Skinner discovering Remy, Linguini finding out that Gusteau is his father, and on and on and on. What a roller coaster of emotions.

Cash is king, even if it shouldn't be.

During the movie we see Chef Skinner neglecting the restaurant and letting it fall into bankruptcy for him to sell Gusteau's image as a fast food brand, he also starts to notice Linguini only after learning that this is Gusteau's son, as his plan is in danger, here obviously this character represents the greed of those who occupy high positions in the working world and see to it that those in lower positions remain stagnant.

Envy does not only come from above.

You can also contemplate how the cooks and especially collete gradually develop some envy and resentment towards Linguini, this is what motivates them to leave him alone when he could not with the pressure of having the restaurant full and he did not know what to do because he did not have Remy to guide him.

Fame is a demanding lady.

As Linguini becomes more known and famous he becomes more and more lonely, and this is because not everyone knows how to handle fame since linguini is going to his head to such an extent that he tells Remy (to whom he partly owes everything) that everything he has he has earned by himself, which is not so, which is why Remy abandons him and subsequently the cooks of the restaurant.

Family comes first... Not always.

We have all been inculcated from a very young age that family comes first, but this is not always true, as there are times when the same does not do its job of supporting you, sometimes they do it with good intentions, sometimes not, there are situations where they simply do not support you because of your thinking outside the box.

This is the case with Remy, his family didn't support him because he didn't want to be a rat who would only eat garbage and discarded food scraps, he also didn't want to waste his gift by just being a poison detector, he instead wanted to be a great chef and cook for his family and his diners.

There will always be someone to lean on.

This movie reminds us that there will always be someone who wants to help you, and even if there are rough spots along the way, these can be overcome, sometimes it will be the same person who supports you through everything, just as different people may support you at different times in your life.

Give a man a fish and he will eat once, Give a rat a piece of cheese and they will follow you forever.

Here something curious happens, The scenes in which Remy gives food to Emile and he later returns with more and more rats is a social criticism, since there is a large part of the population that wants to get the same thing that another obtained with much effort and hard work but in an easier way and without so much effort, and for that they don't care if they must take it away from those who deserve it.

It doesn't matter how good you are if you're alone.

Again I speak of the scene where Linguini was in charge of the restaurant which was full of people with pending orders and the biggest culinary critic who had previously taken a star away from Gusteaus, Here Linguini is left alone and Remy arrives to fix things, but its too late, Still Linguini and Remy reconcile but Remy knows that only he and Linguini will not be able to meet the demand, So Remy finds a solution.

Everything can be achieved by working as a team.

Remy, Collete, Linguini and Remy's family (an army of rats literally and figuratively) managed to overcome the adversities that kept coming up Teamwork.
Thus they managed to: Satisfy the diners and all their demands, Get all the orders out Quickly, Please the culinary critic Anton Ego, stop the health inspector and the former chef Skinner.

During my Time as a Student of Media Arts, I learned that a movie is no good if it leaves you with nothing. And seeing all the teachings that this this movie left me (And the ones I didn't list because I didn't forget) I can say that without any doubt it's a great masterpiece of animation, since that's another point, the level of detail that there is in all the animation is very well done, especially in the food.
And to close I will touch on the phrase around which the story revolves.

Can anyone cook?

Every time I see this work I question a lot this phrase Gusteau Since no, not everyone can cook, much less do it well, Working in kitchen I affirmed it, there were colleagues or even superiors who did not understand how they got to where they are if they can neither can nor know how to cook properly, because of this I identify with Ego. And for this reason I love it The reflection that he leaves us towards the end, although I have already quoted it in a previous article, I will do it here again, because let's be honest, if I don't do it, this review would be incomplete.

In the past, I have never hidden my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto: 'Anyone can cook'. But at last I realize what he really meant: 'Not just anyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.
