I finished watching it last night. The 2nd act is much better than the first and it in the end is a powerful film that I really enjoyed!
I'm glad you liked it. It has a very important message and, above all, it's very well made. Despite having to comply with Netflix's production standards, Guillermo del Toro managed to make a film with very artisanal details, excellent cinematography, and a wonderful story.
