As you can see in the title of the film, it suggests a mystery that surrounds the protagonist, which hooks you once the story begins, Adaline (Blak e Lively) can be seen in different historical times with very different lives and surrounded by friendships that as time goes by age as expected, but she, however, maintains her same appearance, so Adaline will do everything possible to keep her secret by changing her life every so often as well as her identity, which leads her to have a very long life, but without really being able to live it to the fullest. To hide her secret, she avoids getting intimate with anyone, making it impossible for her to have a lasting relationship, the only person she clings to is her daughter, whom she now presents as her grandmother.
