Talking About "Michael " [2026] || The Origin of the Pop King

Greetings, fellow cinephiles! I am delighted to stop by this wonderful community to share my thoughts on a highly anticipated biopic about a massive music star the King of Pop. I was intrigued from the moment the film was announced, wondering what angle the filmmakers would take, especially given the rumors that it would address the controversies surrounding Michael Jackson's life. Ultimately, however, the story took a different direction, focusing primarily on his childhood—when the Jackson 5 rose to fame and his subsequent launch as a solo artist with the album Off the Wall. It also highlights the immense pressure exerted by his father and manager, who eventually had to accept that Michael was more than ready to forge his own path, apart from his brothers.

Su talento era tan grande que desde niño jamás pasaba desapercibida su voz y carisma lo que en mi opinión hizo que el grupo musical familiar "The Jackson 5" fuera un éxito con temas como "I want you back", "I'll be there", "Abc", los cuales salen al inicio de la película.

His talent was so immense that his voice and charisma never went unnoticed, even from childhood; in my opinion, this is what made the family musical group "The Jackson 5" a success with hits like "I Want You Back," "I'll Be There," and "ABC"—songs that appear at the beginning of the movie.

Uno de los aspectos que más resaltaron en la historia era la relación de Michael (Jaafar Jackson) con su padre Joseph Jackson (Colman Domingo), quien lo sometía a el y sus hermanos a largas horas de ensayo y posteriores grabaciones, siendo objeto de acuerdo a la película de maltrato físico por su propio padre, quien actuó de manager por muchas años sacando dinero del cantante y su grupo, sin importar sacrificar la infancia de sus hijos, exigiéndoles cada vez más en sus presentaciones; por otra parte se contrarrestaba la relación con sus madre, quien se mostraba amorosa con su hijo Michael, brindándole su apoyo y amor incondicional.

One of the most striking aspects of the story was Michael’s (Jaafar Jackson) relationship with his father, Joseph Jackson (Colman Domingo). Joseph subjected Michael and his siblings to grueling hours of rehearsals and recording sessions; according to the film, he physically abused his son while acting as manager for many years, profiting from the singer and his group without regard for sacrificing his children's childhoods as he demanded ever increasing effort in their performances. In contrast, this dynamic was balanced by his relationship with his mother, who was loving toward Michael, offering him her support and unconditional love.

Esta cinta fue dirigida por Antoine Fuqua, quien en mi opinión hizo un gran trabajo, ya que mostro los aspectos mas sensibles y personales del artista, logrando esa conexión emocional con el personaje quien fue magistralmente interpretado por su sobrino Jaafar Jackson quien me sorprendió gratamente por su compromiso en cada una de las escenografía que se incluyeron en el film como Billy Jean, "Thriller, Bad", "Beat it", entre otros; se mostro la parte caritativa del artista con la donación del dinero de sus contrataciones a los niños y hospitales, su problema de piel con el vitilingo, su motivación para iniciar sus cirugías plásticas, su amor por los animales, su mascota bubbles, ente otros.

This film was directed by Antoine Fuqua, who in my opinion did a fantastic job; he showcased the artist's more sensitive and personal sides, successfully forging an emotional connection with the character. The role was masterfully portrayed by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, who pleasantly surprised me with his commitment to every musical sequence featured in the film such as "Billie Jean," "Thriller," "Bad," and "Beat It," among others. The movie also highlighted the artist's charitable nature including his donations of performance earnings to children and hospitals—as well as his struggle with vitiligo, the motivations behind his plastic surgeries, his love for animals (including his pet, Bubbles), and more.

Mientras veía esta película me llevo a recordar el gran impacto que tuvo sus canciones y estilo musical en los años 80 y 90, ya que sus bailes y videos musicales sin duda influyo en mi generación y la forma como veíamos la música pop cambio gracias a él, llevando los estándares del genero a los más alto para los demás cantantes de pop, llegando a consagrarse como el Rey del Pop, ya que Michael Jackson se exigía a si mismo dar siempre más en cada álbum, en mi caso coleccione cada una de sus discos y disfrutaba cada una de sus presentaciones las cuales trasmitían por los canales de cable, siendo sus canciones la que me inspiraron aprender el inglés, aprendiéndome cada una de sus canciones, siendo mis favoritas Billy Jean, thriller, Bad, Heal the world

Watching this film reminded me of the tremendous impact his songs and musical style had during the 80s and 90s; his dance moves and music videos undoubtedly influenced my generation and changed the way we viewed pop music. He raised the genre's standards to new heights for other pop artists, ultimately cementing his status as the "King of Pop"—a title earned through his relentless drive to push himself further with every album. Personally, I collected all his records and loved watching his televised performances; his songs even inspired me to learn English, as I made a point of learning the lyrics to every track—with "Billie Jean," "Thriller," "Bad," and "Heal the World" being among my favorites.

Quedaron muchos aspectos de la vida de Michael Jackson que aún falta por contar, por lo que esta historia seguirá sin duda en un segunda y hasta una posible tercera entrega, las cuales prometen, ya que la historia queda hasta cuando el se independiza, dejando el grupo the Jackson 5, en la gira promocionando su primer disco, siendo el inicio de una gran carrera llena de Éxitos profesionales, envuelto de escándalos personales que estuvieron a punto de llevarlo a la cárcel, matrimonios controversiales, su cambio físico debido a las múltiples cirugías plásticas y su sorprendente muerte, que a todos sus fans nos causo gran dolor ya que una estrella como Michael Jackson no vuelve a nacer en mucho tiempo.

There are still many aspects of Michael Jackson's life left to tell, so this story will undoubtedly continue in a second and possibly even a third installment. These promise to be compelling, as the current narrative concludes just as he strikes out on his own leaving The Jackson 5 while touring to promote his debut album marking the start of a monumental career filled with professional triumphs, yet also fraught with personal scandals that nearly landed him in jail, controversial marriages, a physical transformation driven by multiple plastic surgeries, and a shocking death that caused immense pain to all his fans; after all, a star like Michael Jackson comes along only once in a very long time.

Antes de despedirme le recomiendo ver este film, espero que les guste tanto como a mi, y aunque observe cierto detalles que pasaron desapercibido como la relación con sus hermanos, y la excesiva dulzura del actor Jaazar Jackson al interpretar a Michael, exagerando a mi parecer en ciertas escenas, igual lo dejo a su criterio, y si ya vieron la película me gustaría me dejaran sus impresiones abajo en los comentarios, hasta una nueva oportunidad.
