Gorya es una chica de clase baja que es aceptada en una prestigiosa escuela secundaria donde solo van las personas adineradas e influyentes, marginada por su status social pasa desapercibida entre los alumnos del lugar hasta que su camino se cruza con una nueva estudiante, quien parece no importarle la condición económica de Gorya y con la que se hace amiga instantáneamente, pero cuando un incidente lleve a Gorya a defender a la nueva alumna ante los F4, los cuatro chicos más populares, importantes y temidos de la escuela, su “tranquila” vida cambiara por completo al llamar la atención del grupo y sobre todo de su líder, Thyme, y pronto Gorya se verá siendo el objetivos de crueles actos de intimidación en su colegio tras recibir la tarjeta roja de los “F4”, pero ella no planea quedarse de brazos cruzados y perder la única oportunidad de un futuro estable para su familia, armada de valor se enfrenta a Thyme y a sus actos crueles, sin saber que tal acción uniría sus caminos.

Creo que si hay algo que caracteriza a BOF es tanto sus clichés como su toxicidad, ciertamente no es una novela moralmente ideal, esta versión de Boys Over Flowers no se salva de los escenarios tóxicos de las versiones pasadas, pero a diferencia de sus antecesoras, F4 Thailand no busca infantilizar o romantizar, y hacer de una comedia las partes más dramáticas y serias de la historia en una búsqueda por “Suavizar” la connotación negativa que pueden implicar dichas escenas, sino que más bien manejan toda la situación con una seriedad que no había visto en las otras versiones y logran esto sin que se sienta de una manera muy pesada.

Los malentendidos y los problemas son algo que ocurren a lo largo de la novela, ahora, esto es algo que forma parte de la propia naturaleza de la historia, sin estos momentos simplemente todo se resolvería muy rápido (lo que sería más “lógico”, pero aquí estamos por el drama y el romance, no por la lógica) y no le daría oportunidad a los puntos más fuertes de la trama ser mostrados, con F4 Thailand siempre trataron de entrelazar cada parte dramática de la historia para mantener cierta correlación a lo largo de la novela y en lugar de jugar con el clásico "¡Problema resuelto, problema olvidado, aquí no ha pasado nada!" le dieron su propio espacio a cada asunto para ser resuelto como se debe y nos mostraron como dichos problemas influían fuertemente la vida de los personajes incluso después de ser resueltos, lo cual es algo que le añade más valor a esta versión.

I think if there is something that characterizes BOF is both its clichés and its toxicity, it is certainly not a morally ideal novel, this version of Boys Over Flowers is not saved from the toxic scenarios of past versions, but unlike its predecessors, F4 Thailand does not seek to infantilize or romanticize, and make a comedy out of the more dramatic and serious parts of the story in a quest to "soften" the negative connotation that such scenes can imply, but rather handle the whole situation with a seriousness that I had not seen in the other versions and achieve this without it feeling too heavy-handed.

Misunderstandings and problems are something that occur throughout the novel, now, this is something that is part of the very nature of the story, without these moments it would simply all be resolved very quickly (which would be more "logical", but here we are for drama and romance, not logic) and wouldn't give the strongest plot points a chance to be shown, with F4 Thailand they always tried to interweave each dramatic part of the story to maintain some correlation throughout the novel and instead of playing with the classic "Problem solved, problem forgotten, nothing happened here!" they gave each issue its own space to be solved as it should be and showed us how such problems strongly influenced the lives of the characters even after they were solved, which is something that adds more value to this version.

Algo que ame en esta novela es que les dieron una evolución de personaje más firme a los protagonistas, los acontecimientos marcan sus caracteres poco a poco y no de manera casi inmediata, podemos observar un progreso genuino entre las batallas internas de los personajes y a su vez nos permitieron conocer más sus historias y crear “conexiones” con ellos, lo cual fue una jugada inteligente, sobre todo para aquellos que ya conocen la historia, pues a pesar de saber todos los posibles escenarios, los personajes se sienten totalmente nuevos y atractivos de ver. Otro aspecto que conseguí muy interesante de ver fue la inclusión de las redes sociales en los capítulos, la cual está bastante presente y aporta bastante entretenimiento a la dinámica de la historia, además de ayudarnos como indicador de los detalles más relevantes en la novela.

Something I loved in this novel is that they gave a firmer character evolution to the main characters, the events mark their characters little by little and not almost immediately, we can observe a genuine progress between the internal battles of the characters and in turn allowed us to know more of their stories and create "connections" with them, which was a smart move, especially for those who already know the story, because despite knowing all the possible scenarios, the characters feel totally new and attractive to see. Another aspect that I found very interesting to see was the inclusion of the social networks in the chapters, which is quite present and adds a lot of entertainment to the dynamics of the story, besides helping us as an indicator of the most relevant details in the novel.

Ahora, los puntos más débiles en esta novela para mi fueron los siguientes: Primero, la constante publicidad de diversos productos que aparece en los capítulos, llega a hacerse un poco tedioso y bueno, bastante obvio, eso sí, les doy crédito por siempre incluir los productos en escenas durante acciones que tienen algo de peso en la historia o en situaciones bastantes entretenidas, es un detalle que se aprecia. El segundo punto que no termino de cerrarme del todo fueron algunas actuaciones que se llegaban a sentir algo tímidas e incomodas, aunque en general, no fue nada que empeorara la experiencia (Miren que la razón principal por la que he abandona un buen puñado de thai-dramas en el pasado fue por las actuaciones pero F4 Thailand supero mis expectativas).

Now, the weakest points in this novel for me were the following: First, the constant advertising of various products that appears in the chapters, it gets a little tedious and well, quite obvious, but yes, I give them credit for always including the products in scenes during actions that have some weight in the story or in quite entertaining situations, it is a detail that is appreciated. The second point that didn't quite close for me were some of the performances that felt a bit timid and awkward, although overall, it wasn't anything that made the experience worse (look, the main reason I've abandoned a lot of Thai-dramas in the past was because of the performances, but F4 Thailand exceeded my expectations).

Esta novela fue hecha con amor, no tengo dudas en decirlo, pues realmente se esmeraron en hacer una versión que guardara características de las historias pasadas pero mejorándolas, buscando crear una relación genuina con el público y hacerlo lo más “realista” posible sin perder el “encanto” que caracteriza a esta historia

This novel was made with love, I have no doubt in saying it, because they really took great care in making a version that kept the characteristics of the past stories but improved them, seeking to create a genuine relationship with the public and make it as "realistic" as possible without losing the "charm" that characterizes this story.

Al ver este drama puedes casi que sentir como la dirección y producción en general se lo tomaron bastante enserio y cuidaron que cada detalles fuera significativo (como Gorya trabajando en una tienda de flores haciéndole honor al nombre por el que se le reconoce a esta historia) entregándonos probablemente, una de las novelas, cinematográficamente hablando, más bonitas que he visto en mucho tiempo (aun si no les gusta la historia, la estética de esta serie es realmente bonita, lograron un equilibrio perfecto entre mantener los detalles bien pulidos y agradables a la vista sin llegar a abusar del factor “artístico” para concentrarse solo en lo visual) y con un desarrollo de la trama realmente entretenido

Watching this drama you can almost feel how the direction and production in general took it quite seriously and took care that every detail was meaningful (like Gorya working in a flower store honoring the name by which this story is recognized) giving us probably one of the most beautiful novels, cinematically speaking, I've seen in a long time, (even if you don't like the story, the aesthetics of this series is really nice, they achieved a perfect balance between keeping the details well polished and pleasing to the eye without abusing the "artistic" factor to concentrate only on the visuals) and with a really entertaining plot development.
