"Stranger Things 4 " Review [ENG/ESP]

A pesar de que mi ansiedad y la universidad me han consumido casi por completo en esta primera mitad del año, me tome mi tiempo sin culpa alguna para observar la nueva temporada de Stranger Things como buena fan que soy luego de tanto tiempo de espera, y he de admitir que me mantuvo al borde de mi asiento en todo momento. Luego un largo tiempo sin hablar de alguna serie o película, hoy quiero compartirles que tal me pareció Stranger Things 4 (Vol 1 & 2)
Even though my anxiety and college have almost completely consumed me in this first half of the year, I guiltlessly took my time to watch the new season of Stranger Things as a good fan after such a long time of waiting, and I have to admit that it kept me on the edge of my seat at all times. After a long time without talking about a series or movie, today I want to share with you what I thought of Stranger Things 4 (Vol 1 & 2).

Luego de mudarse a California junto a Joyce, Jonathan y Will, a Eleven le cuesta adaptarse a su nueva realidad luego de perder sus poderes. Sin su figura paterna a su lado, y sufriendo de acoso en su escuela, Eleven enfrenta dificultades para vivir como una chica común y corriente.
After moving to California with Joyce, Jonathan and Will, Eleven has a hard time adjusting to her new reality after losing her powers. Without her father figure by her side, and suffering from bullying at her school, Eleven faces difficulties living as an ordinary girl.

De vuelta en Hawkins, el pueblo parece no descansar de las tragedias, pues ahora una nueva amenaza del pasado que siempre estuvo presente surgirá, cobrando la vida de estudiantes inocentes y cuya próxima víctima en la lista parece ser Max. Nuestro grupo de héroes ahora separados deberán encontrar una manera de vencer a este villano del Upside Down que asecha al pueblo y salvar a Max de una muerte segura, pero esta nueva amenaza será más fuerte que nunca.
Back in Hawkins, the town can't seem to rest from tragedies, as now a new threat from the past that was always present will emerge, claiming the lives of innocent students and whose next victim on the list seems to be Max. Our now separated group of heroes must find a way to defeat this Upside Down villain stalking the town and save Max from certain death, but this new threat will be stronger than ever.
Resumen / Summary
Tras la supuesta muerte de Hopper, Joyce decide adoptar a Eleven y mudarse junto a sus hijos a California, con la esperanza de que esto represente un nuevo inicio para su pequeña familia luego de todas las dificultades que han atravesado, pero adaptarse a esta nueva vida en un luego totalmente diferente no resulta fácil para Eleven y Will, ambos son vistos como chicos raros en la escuela, mientras que Will lidia con sus sentimientos no correspondidos, Eleven apenas logra adaptarse a una nueva vida sin sus poderes, y a pesar de intentar ser una alumna normal es intimidada por sus compañeros debido a su “rareza”, causándole inseguridades incluso en su relación con Mike
After Hopper's supposed death, Joyce decides to adopt Eleven and move with her children to California, hoping that this will represent a new beginning for her little family after all the hardships they have been through, but adjusting to this new life in a totally different then is not easy for Eleven and Will, both are seen as weird kids at school, while Will deals with his unrequited feelings, Eleven barely manages to adapt to a new life without her powers, and despite trying to be a normal student she is bullied by her classmates because of her "weirdness", causing insecurities even in her relationship with Mike.
En Hawkins, los cambios de la adolescencia comienzan a pasarle factura a nuestro grupo de héroes, Lucas comienza a distanciarse de Mike y Dustin al desarrollar nuevos intereses, y Max se ha alejado de todos sus amigos luego de la muerte de su hermano mientras intenta lidiar con todos sus problemas personales. Pero el pequeño pueblo de Hawkins parece estar maldito, pues pronto una nueva muerte impactara a sus pobladores y el principal sospechoso será Eddie Munson, vecino de Max y líder del Hellfire Club, un club de jugadores de Calabozos y Dragones del cual Lucas, Mike y Dustin forman parte. Esta nueva muerte y la rareza tras ella unirá nuevamente a Lucas, Dustin, Erica, Max, Steve, Robbin y Nancy a investigar lo sucedido y pronto descubrirán que no fue un simple asesinato como todos en el pueblo parecen creer, sino que quizás tenga relación con el Upside Down.
Back in Hawkins, the changes of adolescence begin to take their toll on our group of heroes, Lucas begins to distance himself from Mike and Dustin as he develops new interests, and Max has distanced himself from all his friends after the death of his brother as he tries to deal with all his personal problems. But the small town of Hawkins seems to be cursed, as soon a new death will shock its settlers and the main suspect will be Eddie Munson, Max's neighbor and leader of the Hellfire Club, a club of D&D players of which Lucas, Mike and Dustin are part of. This new death and the weirdness behind it will unite again Lucas, Dustin, Erica, Max, Steve, Robbin and Nancy to investigate what happened and soon they will discover that it was not a simple murder as everyone in town seems to believe, but perhaps it is related to the Upside Down.
Por otra Parte, Mike ha tomado unas breve vacaciones a California para visitar a Eleven, pero al darse cuenta de que esta le ha estado ocultando cosas sobre su nueva vida ambos tienen una discusión que los separa, mientras tanto, Joyce a recibido una pista sobre el supuesto paradero de a Hopper y decide ir a su búsqueda con ayuda de Murray, dejando a los chicos al cuidado de Jonathan, pero las cosas comienzan a salirse de control cuando dos grupos de agentes gubernamentales comienzan a buscar a Eleven, uno de ellos sospechan que ella es la causante de las muertes en Hawkins, mientras que el otro están seguros de que Eleven es la única capaz de detener a esta nueva amenaza, pero deberá ir con ellos en orden de recuperar sus poderes; Eleven abandona a Mike, Will y Jonathan al enterarse del peligro que corren el resto de sus amigos de regreso a Hawkins, y Mike junto a los Hermanos Byers deberán descubrir en donde se encuentra Eleven e ir a su rescate antes de que sea demasiado tarde
On the other hand, Mike has taken a short vacation to California to visit Eleven, but realizing that she has been hiding things from him about her new life they have an argument that separates them, meanwhile, Joyce has received a clue about the supposed whereabouts of Hopper and decides to go looking for him with Murray's help, leaving the boys in Jonathan's care, but things start to get out of control when two groups of government agents start looking for Eleven, one of them suspect that she is the cause of the deaths in Hawkins, while the other is sure that Eleven is the only one capable of stopping this new threat, but she must go with them in order to recover her powers; Eleven abandons Mike, Will and Jonathan when she learns of the danger to the rest of her friends back in Hawkins, and Mike and the Byers Brothers must discover where Eleven is and go to her rescue before it is too late.
Algo épico y real / Something epic and real
Si hay algo que puedo decir sin dudas es que esta temporada fue como un golpe directo a la cara en muchos aspectos. Siendo honesta, esperar dos años para ver una temporada puede generar tanta expectativa como desilusión, una estrategia algo arriesgada, aunque justificable (Por el tiempo de Producción y post-producción que toma), pero aun así Stranger Things se las ha arreglado para generar más impacto con cada temporada que revelan, y no es para menos, mientras que la segunda temporada genero expectativa tras el éxito que presento la primera, y en la tercera temporada nos deslumbraron jugando fuertemente con el factor nostalgia y con aspectos visuales vibrantes y llamativos, diría que el factor principal de esta cuarta temporada vendría siendo el plot-twist que nos presentan, el simbolismo, la acción más fuerte que nunca, y estos toques de “realidad” que hicieron de esta historia mucho más compleja.
If there is something I can say without a doubt is that this season was like a direct punch to the face in many aspects. Being honest, waiting two years to see a season can generate as much expectation as disappointment, a somewhat risky strategy, although justifiable (for the production and post-production time it takes), but still Stranger Things has managed to generate more impact with each season they reveal, and it is not for less, while the second season generated expectation after the success that the first one presented, and in the third season they dazzled us playing strongly with the nostalgia factor and with vibrant and striking visual aspects, I would say that the main factor of this fourth season would be the plot-twist presented to us, the symbolism, the action stronger than ever, and these touches of "reality" that made this story much more complex.
Ahora, Stranger Things es una serie de ciencia ficción, el realismo es algo que se agradece aunque no es el punto central de toda la trama, pero esta cuarta temporada nos ha ofrecido una perspectiva muchos más seria y real, abordando temas como la salud mental y los traumas, los tabús de la época, y la inclusión de personas de la comunidad +LGTBQ, fueron algunos de los detalles que ayudaron a construir una historia mucho más “rica” e interesante de ver y a su vez le añadió una capa más de complejidad a sus personajes.
Now, Stranger Things is a science fiction series, the realism is something that is appreciated although it is not the central point of the whole plot, but this fourth season has offered us a much more serious and real perspective, addressing issues such as mental health and trauma, the taboos of the time, and the inclusion of people from the +LGTBQ community, were some of the details that helped build a much more "rich" and interesting story to watch and in turn added another layer of complexity to its characters
El simbolismo tras esta nueva temporada fue tremendo (Personalmente) sobre todo en el factor musical, él como hicieron de la música parte fundamental de la historia y no solo un simple acompañamiento de fondo fue algo que me resulta fascinante de ver (Y escuchar!). Desde adaptar la canción de Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill” como una clase de himno oficial para la serie y ofrecernos una de las mejores secuencias de acción que he visto en un largo tiempo con esta, hasta una interpretación bastante genial de “Master of Puppets” en el Upside Down, sin duda fueron elementos que ayudaron a añadirle un toque “épico” que diferencia a esta temporada y probablemente de lo más memorable que nos ofreció Stranger Things 4
The symbolism behind this new season was tremendous (Personally) especially in the music factor, he how they made the music a fundamental part of the story and not just a simple background accompaniment was something I find fascinating to watch (AND listen to!). From adapting Kate Bush's song "Running Up That Hill" as a kind of official anthem for the series and giving us one of the best action sequences I've seen in a long time with it, to a pretty cool rendition of "Master of Puppets" in the Upside Down, they were certainly elements that helped add an "epic" touch that sets this season apart and probably the most memorable thing that Stranger Things 4 offered us.
Hablemos de los villanos, en este caso, de EL villano principal en esta ocasión, Vecna (para prevenir los spoilers evitare hablar sobre el origen de este personaje ya que es realmente una parte importante en la historia de esta temporada); Vecna es, en cuestión, un plot twist inesperado, tan inesperado que me tuve que preguntar dos veces si originalmente estaba planeado que este personaje existiera, pues si bien resulto poseer un desenlace bastante curioso de ver, cambio completamente la perspectiva de lo visto en las temporadas anteriores. Además de lo inesperado que me resulto la existencia de este “nuevo” villano, este no es mi único problema con dicho personaje, y esto me lleva al siguiente punto… ¿Por qué Vecna me recuerda tanto a Voldemort?
Let's talk about the villains, in this case, about THE main villain this time, Vecna (to prevent spoilers I will avoid talking about the origin of this character since it is really an important part of this season's story); Vecna is, in fact, an unexpected plot twist, so unexpected that I had to ask myself twice if this character was originally planned to exist, because although it turned out to have a quite curious outcome to see, it completely changed the perspective of what was seen in the previous seasons. Besides how unexpected I found the existence of this "new" villain, this is not my only problem with this character, and this brings me to the next point... Why does Vecna remind me so much of Voldemort?A esta sección de la reseña la decidí llamar “Harry Potter, Voldemort, y la fuerza del amor” pues aquí comenzamos con los patrones cuestionables de esta temporada. Primero comencemos con que Vecna y Voldemort se asemejan demasiado en muchos aspectos, tanto que cada vez que una nueva parte de la historia de Vecna era revelada lo primero en que pensaba era “¿Por qué Vecna me recuerda tanto a Voldemort?” es que las similitudes entre ambas historias, sus personalidades, sus ambiciones y las maneras en que fueron derrotados poseían muchas familiaridades (No son historias idénticas pero tampoco están lejos la una de la otra) incluso la manera en que sus principales contrincantes eran niños/adolescentes me resulta hasta gracioso, pero estas no son las únicas similitudes que guarda Stranger Things con Harry Potter, pues la fuerza del “amor” estuvo bastante presente en esta ocasión
I decided to call this section of the review "Harry Potter, Voldemort, and the power of love" because here we start with the questionable patterns of this season. First let's start with the fact that Vecna and Voldemort are too similar in many ways, so much so that every time a new part of Vecna's story was revealed the first thing I thought of was "Why does Vecna remind me so much of Voldemort? "The similarities between both stories, their personalities, their ambitions and the ways in which they were defeated had many familiarities (they are not identical stories but they are not far from each other either) even the way their main opponents were children/teenagers is even funny to me, but these are not the only similarities that Stranger Things has with Harry Potter, because the force of "love" was quite present in this occasion.
Esta temporada posee demasiadas ocasiones “sentimentales” cuestionables, algunas de estas escenas estaban de sobra, otras no tanto, pero todas tenían algo en común, y es que fueron manejadas de una manera muy vaga, casi como si los hermanos Duffer no supieran que hacer entre las interacciones con sus personajes en estos momentos (Desde las interacciones de Mike y Eleven, hasta el recuentro de Hopper y Eleven); y ya que nombramos por fin a los hermanos Duffer, vayamos al patrón más cuestionable y fastidioso de la serie, y es el afán por tener un personaje de sacrificio en cada temporada, quizás logre su cometido de destrozar emocionalmente a la audiencia, pero ciertamente lo considero como una mala costumbre que los Duffer han adquirido.
This season has too many questionable "sentimental" occasions, some of these scenes were too much, others not so much, but they all had something in common, and that is that they were handled in a very vague way, almost as if the Duffer brothers did not know what to do between the interactions with their characters in these moments(From Mike and Eleven's interactions, to Hopper and Eleven's reunion).; and since we finally named the Duffer brothers, let's go to the most questionable and annoying pattern of the series, and that is the eagerness to have a sacrificial character in each season, maybe it achieves its purpose of emotionally destroying the audience, but I certainly consider it as a bad habit that the Duffer have acquired.
La verdad que ame mucho esta temporada, he sido fan de Stranger Things desde sus inicios y prácticamente he crecido con esta serie por lo que ya le he agarrado bastante cariño y no siento culpa por ello; desde personajes únicos y carismáticos, actuaciones impecables, hasta la acción y la historia muy atractiva y nostálgica, hay muchas razones por las cuales esta serie se ha ganado su propio espacio en mi corazón. Stranger Things 4 Vol 1 & 2 me ha sorprendido más de lo que pensé que lo haría, con todo lo bueno y malo que ha traído, siento que con esta temporada la serie logro repotenciarse a sí misma y me atrevería a decir que volvería a ver todas las temporadas de la serie solo con tal de llegar a la cuatro y poder disfrutarla nuevamente.

I really loved this season, I've been a fan of Stranger Things since its inception and I've practically grown up with this series so I've grown quite fond of it and I feel no guilt about it; from unique and charismatic characters, impeccable performances, to the action and the very engaging and nostalgic story, there are many reasons why this series has earned its own space in my heart. Stranger Things 4 Vol 1 & 2 has surprised me more than I thought it would, with all the good and bad that it has brought, I feel that with this season the series managed to repower itself and I would dare to say that I would watch all the seasons of the series again just to get to season four and enjoy it again.

Tremenda joya de serie, y esta última temporada ha sido una de las mejores, pero no miento al decir que soy fan de todas las otras temporadas también.

También soy gran fan de la serie y de sus temporadas, pero creo que esta cuarta temporada me hizo darme cuenta de lo mucho que me asombra esta historia, sin duda tengo que volver a echarle otro vistazo pronto!

Hola, el primer capitulo me aburrio estaba en shock me preguntaba que es esto... donde esta la historia anterior sin embargo 1 mes despues la retome.

El primer capitulo tampoco es que me haya asombrado mucho al comienzo, pero ya tenía una idea en mente y sentía que el potencial estaba allí por lo que mantuve la esperanza y pronto me vi enganchada.
Mis personajes favoritos de esta temporada fueron Max(Desde que la introdujeron me gusto mucho también!) así que estaba feliz con el protagonismo que tuvo en esta ocasión, también le agarre bastante cariño a Murray con su personalidad y ver a Dimitri se me hizo super curioso por lo que espero que vuelva a aparecer para la ultima temporada la verdad.
Yo con Eddie no me vi muy entusiasmada al principio, ya luego me fue agradando y con ese tremendo solo de guitarra quede bastante asombrada jaja.
