"Who Are You: School 2015" REVIEW [ENG/ESP]
Hello Hive Community !
Ya he dicho esto en otro post, pero realmente soy fanática de las producciones coreanas y en este caso quería hablar sobre uno de mis dramas favoritos de todos los tiempos, Who are you: School 2015
I've already said this in another post, but I really am a fan of Korean productions and in this case I wanted to talk about one of my favorite dramas of all time,Who are you: School 2015.
Lee Eun-Bi is an orphan who will soon come of age and will be expelled from the orphanage where she has lived all her life but her problems are not only limited to that, but also in her school she is the target of the taunts and jokes of our antagonist Kang So Young and her group of followers who are determined to make her life impossible to the point of getting her expelled from school, with all the problems in the world on her shoulders Eun-Bi makes the drastic decision to end her life.
Go Eun-Byul was separated from her sister in childhood and raised in a loving home but she is still a serious girl with a strong reputation, not only is she the smartest girl in her class but she is also known to be an intimidating but still popular person, although her life is not as bright as she pretends, her best friend committed suicide and there seems to be someone after her seeking revenge for letting that happen, a school trip will change not only her future but also that of her twin sister forever. "Eun-Byul" loses her memory and with it drama and a love triangle ensues.
The series touches on various topics such as the standards imposed on young people to be perfect, bullying and suicide, as well as revenge and resentment, as its main genre indicates, it is a production full of drama that presents various mysteries throughout its 16 chapters. Although romance is still present during the series, what I liked the most is that they gave more importance to other aspects and problems of life, even giving us small romantic details between the main characters.
Another thing I enjoyed watching the series was the small diversity of characters we were introduced to, Eun-Byul as a more serious and cold girl, Eun-Bi as the counterpart to her twin, a more shy and friendly girl, Song-Joo The ambitious best friend with a flamboyant personality, Shin Jin A friendly enough girl but constantly doubting herself, Han Yi-An our co-protagonist and Eun-Byul's childhood best friend with a reserved attitude, Tae-Gwang a boy who is always causing trouble but still gets to be friendly and funny with the right people, and so they show us characters, that in my opinion, are better achieved than in comparison to many other teen dramas I have seen (like The Heirs or Boys over flowers for example). These characters are built in a more complex way, we can not only be able to love them but also hate them and finally understand that just like you, they are human beings capable of making mistakes and not making the best decisions (since that is the part of growing up).
The drama managed to become one of my all time favorites to the point that I still enjoy watching it to this day, it has a more than brilliant cast with some pretty well known actors in the Korean acting world such as Kim So Hyun, Nam Joo-Hyuck, Yook Sung-Jae. School 2015 was able to make me feel love, hate, frustration, sadness throughout its story as they show us what life is like in one of the most prestigious schools in Korea and all the drama behind each of the people involved with the school.
Kim So Hyun plays our twins Eun-Byul and Eun-bi and I love how she was able to bring to life both girls despite their differences, she manages to bring out the twins' strongest traits and let us know who is who in the moments that deserves to be known without being a very shocking or obvious change of attitude, not for nothing she is one of the most popular actresses and the truth is that she has more than deserved her fame.
Another performance that surprised me for good was that of our antagonist So-Young, played by Jo Soo Hyang, you can really despise this character at all times but it is not something forced, and you know as they say, if you hate a villain is because he did well his job.
I could review it in much more detail, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt so that you can discover for yourselves the whole story. If I have to recommend a dorama, it would definitely be School 2015.
Thank you very much for reading! Any advice is more than welcome
