These days I have not been feeling very good health wise, I have had like a flu feeling and I don't know I still feel like I have a cold so I had not had the gasnas to watch a movie but when I recovered my energy I thought of watching nothing more and nothing less than 28 Years Later directed by Danny Boyle and this man again hixzo of his own, with this movie it seems that he sowed a lot of ideas for future sequels, I think Boyle had a kind of creative schizophrenia hehehe and wrote a pretty crazy and deep script. This new installment of the saga puts you in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has regressed to a kind of modern middle age, there are isolated communities and rules that are quite hard to survive, there are also the infected that could not miss and are like a 2.0 version are no longer simple zombies but much more brutal and grotesque creatures. I liked that Boyle mixes deep themes such as death, family and love with scenes that have a lot of blood and horror, without losing that touch of humanity that makes you care about each character. Throughout the movie I was always watching Spike, who carries the weight of the story on his shoulders.

Estos días no me he sentido muy bien de salud, he tenido como malestar de gripe y no se todavía me siento con resfriado así que no había tenido gasnas de ver una peli pero en lo que recuperé la energía se me ocurrió ver nada más y nada menos que 28 Years Later dirigida por Danny Boyle y este hombre otra vez hixzo de las suyas, con esta película parece que sembró un montón de ideas para secuelas futuras, creo que Boyle tuvo una especie de esquizofrenia creativa jejeje y escribió un guion bastante loco y profundo. Esta nueva entrega de la saga te mete en un mundo postapocalíptico donde la humanidad ha retrocedido a una especie de edad media moderna, hay comunidades aisladas y reglas que son bastante duras para sobrevivir, también están los infectados que no podían faltar y son como una versión 2.0 ya no son simples zombies sino criaturas mucho más brutales y grotescas. Me gustó que Boyle mezcla temas tan profundos como la muerte, la familia y el amor con escenas que tienen mucha sangre y horror, sin perder ese toque de humanidad que hace que te importe cada personaje. Durante la peli siempre estuve pendiente de Spike, que carga con el peso de la historia en sus hombros.

The story starts with Spike who is a young man played by Alfie Williams who lives in an isolated community on an island, here the rules are clear and to survive you have to follow those strict rules. Also Aaron Taylor Johnson appears in the role of Jamie, a guy who seems to have everything under control but hides dark secrets, all these characters plus all the family drama are the emotional center of the movie, there are conflicts that take you further and it's all about survival. As I told you these infected have evolved now there are different types of creatures, there are some that are the alphas that are more intelligent and brutal and there are the bloaters that are disgusting and crawl on the ground, every time they appeared my heart was in my throat. I liked that Boyle didn't just make a zombie movie, it leads to reflection on what it means to grow up in a world where death is ever present.

La historia arranca con Spike que es un joven interpretado por Alfie Williams que vive en una comunidad aislada en una isla, aqui las reglas son claras y para sobrevivir tienes que seguir esas reglas estrictas. Resulta que su mamá interpretada por Jodie Comer se enferma y el muchacho se arriesga y la lleva al continente en busca de ayuda médica. También aparece Aaron Taylor Johnson en el papel de Jamie, un tipo que parece tener todo bajo control pero que esconde secretos oscuros, todos estos personajes mpas todo el drama familiar son el centro emocional de la película, hay conflictos que te llevan más allá y todo es por la supervivencia. Como les dije estos infectados han evolucionado ahora hay diferentes tipos de criaturas, hay unos que son los alfas que son más inteligentes y brutales y están los bloaters que son asquerosos y se arrastran por el suelo, cada vez que aparecían el corazón se me cubíaa la garganta. Me gustó que Boyle no hizo una simple película de zombies, sino que lleva a la reflexión sobre qué significa crecer en un mundo donde la muerte está siempre presente.

My favorite character was Spike because he is of that generation that was born after the apocalypse and doesn't know the world before and sadly has to bear the consequences of his parents' decisions. When Spike and his mom arrive on the mainland they meet Dr. Kelson played by Ralph Fiennes, a character who seems crazy and lives surrounded by bones and skulls in a kind of macabre temple he built to remember the dead. The first time this guy appears you don't know if he's a dangerous madman or a wise man who understood something the others didn't and I quite liked that mystery. A Swedish soldier named Eric also appears and serves as a connection to the outside world, showing that the rest of the planet moved on while Britain was isolated and left to its own devices. The action scenes are good and brutal because every death leaves you shocked and is quite viceral. Another thing I liked was the pacing because it's not slow or fast paced, I felt that each scene made sense within the story.

Mi personaje favorito fue el de Spike porque es de esa generación que nació después del apocalipsis y no conoce el mundo anterior y tristemente tiene que cargar con las consecuencias de las decisiones de sus padres. Cuando Spike y su mamá llegan al continente se encuentran con el doctor Kelson interpretado por Ralph Fiennes, un personaje que parece loco y vive rodeado de huesos y calaveras en una especie de templo macabro que construyó para recordar a los muertos. La primera vez que aparece este tipo no sabes si es un loco peligroso o un sabio que entendió algo que los demás no y ese misterio me gustó bastante. También aparece un soldado sueco llamado Eric que sirve como conexión con el mundo exterior, mostrando que el resto del planeta siguió adelante mientras Gran Bretaña quedó aislada y abandonada a su suerte. Las escenas de acción son buenas y brutales porque cada muerte te deja impactado y es bastante viceral. Otra cosa que me gustó fuie el ritmo porque no es lenta ni va muy rápido, me pareció que cada escena tiene sentido dentro de la historia.

The third part is crazy with the appearance of a group of cultists led by Jimmy played by Jack O'Connell. The final scenes are pure violence and mayhem, the infected have developed a sort of primitive social hierarchy, with the alphas controlling the weaker ones. To me what I liked most about the ending is that it doesn't try to explain everything, it leaves a lot of questions open and makes you think about what you just saw, this I think is typical Boyle but makes it work well. Spike's character ends up joining this group and it seems to me that this is something that will be fleshed out in the next film, I really can't wait to see what crazy things Boyle comes up with for the sequel.

La tercera parte es una locura con la aparición de un grupo de cultistas liderada por Jimmy interpretado por Jack O'Connell. Las escenas finales son pura violencia y caos, los infectados han desarrollado una especie de jerarquía social primitiva, con los alfas y controlan a los más débiles. A mí lo que más me gustó del final es que no trata de explicar todo, deja muchas preguntas abiertas y te hace pensar sobre lo que acabas de ver, esto creo que es típico de Boyle pero hace que funcione bien. El personaje de Spike termina uniéndose a este grupo y me parece que esto es algo que se va a desarrollar en la próxima película, la verdad no puedo esperar a ver qué locuras se le ocurren a Boyle para la secuela.

My score for 28 Years Later is 8/10, this is a film that pulls no punches and takes you through a dark and dangerous world, in my opinion Danny Boyle proves that he is still a director who is not afraid to take risks and knows how to mix the grotesque with the profound and understands that horror is not just scares, but also thrills and why not some reflection. The story of Spike and his family with all those conflicts and secrets is the center of the movie and I liked that and even if the ending leaves you wanting more and with some unanswered questions, that only increases the anticipation for the next installments. I liked the character of Dr. Kelson and the strange band of cultists because it gives more of a touch of mystery and madness. The performances are good, the themes the movie touches on are original and it doesn't fall into genre clichés.

Mi puntuación para 28 Years Later es 8/10, esta es una película que no anda con rodeos y te lleva por un mundo oscuro y peligroso, en mi opinión Danny Boyle demuestra que sigue siendo un director que no teme arriesgarse y que sabe cómo mezclar lo grotesco con lo profundo y que entiende que el horror no es solo sustos, sino también emociones y por qué no algo de reflexión. La historia de Spike y su familia con todos esos conflictos y secretos es el centro de la peli y me gustó eso y aunque el final te deje con ganas de más y con algunas preguntas sin responder, eso solo aumenta la expectativa para las próximas entregas. Me gustó el personaje del doctor Kelson y la extraña banda de cultistas porque da más toque de misterio y locura. Las actuaciones son buenas, los temas que toca la peli son originales y no cae en clichés del género.
