You must have noticed that I really like to watch horror movies because I'm always watching movies of this genre and since I started watching Bring Her Back I got the impression that I wasn't about to watch the classic cheap horror movie, far from it. It's that from the beginning I felt that weird atmosphere, I don't know if it has happened to you, it's like when you enter an old house and the air gets heavier, the energy is like dark and you feel uncomfortable, well that's what got me. This movie may not be the most terrifying, but several times I got goosebumps and I was watching the TV wanting to cover my face because of the brutal things that happen, I thought the directors did a great job in the theme of pain and suffering, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. The film starts with the story of two stepbrothers, one with a tough attitude and the other one without seeing, each one with his traumas and a marked life, now they arrive at a house with a very strange lady and I already felt that something ugly was there, for me everything is very real and very raw, this is not a movie with an easy ending or with an optimistic moral, here what there is is pain, discomfort and a lot of things that leave you thinking.

Se deben haber dado cuenta que me gusta mucho ver películas de terror porque siempre ando viendo pelis de este género y desde que comencé a ver Bring Her Back me dio la impresion de que no estaba a punto de ver la clásica peli de terror barata, ni mucho menos. Es que desde el inicio sentí esa atmósfera rara no sé si les ha pasado es como cuando entras a una casa vieja y el aire se te hace más pesado, la energía es como oscura y te sienes incomodo bueno esto fue lo que me atrapó. Puede que esta peli no sea la más terrorífica, pero varias veces se me puso la piel de gallina y estaba viendo el televisor con ganas de taparme la cara por las cosas tan brutales que pasan, me pareció que los directores se lucieron en el tema del dolor y el sufrimiento, como si fuera lo más natural del mundo. La película arranca con ese rollo de dos hermanastros, uno con una actitud dura y la otra sin ver, cada uno con sus traumas y una vida marcada, ahora llegan a una casa con una señora rarísima y ya sentía que algo medio feo había allí, para mi todo es muy real y muy crudo, esta no es una peli con final fácil o con moraleja optimista, aquí lo que hay es dolor, incomodidad y un montón de cosas que te dejan pensando.

I don't know how they did it but I felt that I was inside that sick story, the characters felt real with their mistakes and a horrible past and to top it off with a whole situation that is getting worse and worse, here there is no respite and everything is getting worse and worse. I thought Sally Hawkins as the adoptive mom stole the screen I didn't know whether to trust her or run away, she had a sweet face but carried a crazy load. The other one who does a great role is the one who plays Piper, the sister who doesn't see transmits a lot just with gestures and movements, it's impossible not to want her to come out well. Although I will warn that no one here is saved from having a bad time, even the guy who seems to be an ornament has his super disturbing scenes with things that not even in a nightmare you can think of, what I recommend is that you do not watch the movie while you're eating because it can turn your stomach.

No se como lo lograron pero yo sentí que estaba dentro de esa historia enfermiza los personajes se sentían reales con sus errores y un pasado horrible y para rematarla con toda una situación que cada vez es peor, aquí no hay ni un respiro y todo se va hunidiendo más. Me pareció que Sally Hawkins como la mamá adoptiva se robó la pantalla no sabía si confiar en ella o salir corriendo, tenía una cara dulce pero cargaba una locura. La otra que hace un papel buenísimo es la que hace de Piper, la hermana que no ve transmite mucho sólo con gestos y movimientos, es imposible no querer que salga bien librada. Aunque voy avisando que aquí nadie se salva de pasarla mal, hasta el chico que parece de adorno tiene sus escenas súper perturbadoras con cosas que ni en pesadilla se te ocurren, lo que te recomiendo es que no veas la peli mientras estes comiendo porque se te puede revolver el estómago.

It is a story where everything is breaking little by little, first the relationship between the brothers, then the ideas of what is right, then even the notion of who is good or bad, all that made me get more and more into that fucked up atmosphere until the end. Here no one is good or bad but everyone has their reasons and those reasons lead them to do wild things that even you find it hard to know who to support.

La trama va subiendo de tono porque primero parece que todo es un drama familiar raro pero de repente te vas dando cuenta que hay algo más turbio, con rituales locos, demonios metiéndose en los niños y una obsesión que es enfermiza por traer de vuelta a los muertos, todo mezclado con dolor y memoria, un rollo bien profundo sobre hasta dónde puede llegar el dolor de perder a alguien. Es una historia donde todo se va rompiendo poco a poco, primero la relación entre los hermanos, luego las ideas de lo que está bien, después hasta la noción de quién es bueno o malo, todo eso hizxo que me fuera metiendo cada vez más en ese clima tan jodido hasta el final. Aquí nadie es bueno o malo sino que todos tienen sus razones y esas razones los llevan a hacer cosas salvajes que hasta te cuesta saber a quién apoyar.

The best thing is that in the final part of the movie, there is more violence and each character makes super desperate decisions and the horror comes not so much from a monster, but from what the human being is willing to do because of pain or because he simply sees no other way out. The rituals and the logic behind the demons is a bit confusing, I understood certain things because I realized the urgency and desperation, but not everything is clear, this movie doesn't explain everything with little drawings. It reminded me a bit of other classic psychological horror movies with that twisted air where logic takes a back seat, what I can say is that it is a very bloody movie.

Lo mejor es que en la parte final la peli no se guarda nada, hay más violencia y cada personaje toma decisiones súper desesperadas y el horror ya no viene tanto de un monstruo, sino de lo que el ser humano está dispuesto a hacer por dolor o porque simplemente no ve otra salida. El rollo de los rituales y la lógica detrás de los demonios es medio confuso, entendí ciertas cosas porque me daba cuenta de la urgencia y el desespero, pero no todo queda claro esta peli no explica todo con dibujitos. Me recordó un poco a otros clásicos de terror psicológico con ese aire retorcido donde la lógica pasa a segundo plano, lo que si puedo decir es que es una película bien sangrienta.

My score for Bring Her Back is 7.5/10 because it talks about the terror of losing what you love the most and how far that desire to get it back leads you in a wild and tragic way that leaves you in shock, I didn't give it more points because of the direction the story took in the last minutes, it seemed to me that it went for a less pessimistic way out but it still fell like a bucket of cold water. The good thing is that the film conveyed what it wanted to and that is that mixture of fear, sorrow, disgust and sadness all mixed together. I have to say that Bring Her Back is not for everyone, don't expect something light with easy scares and an ending where everyone hugs each other, you have to be willing to endure and see the characters acting out of pure desperation with a backstory, it has good performances, the atmosphere is tense and if you pay attention you will discover the little details that will make you understand some things.

Mi puntuación para Bring Her Back es 7.5/10 porque habla de ese terror a perder lo que más quieres y hasta dónde te lleva ese deseo de recuperarlo de una forma salvaje y trágica que te deja en shock, no le di más puntos por el rumbo que tomó la historia en los últimos minutos me pareció que se fue por una salida menos pesimista pero igual me cayó como un balde de agua fría. Lo bueno es que la película transmitió lo que quería y es esa mezcla de miedo, pena, asco y tristeza todo revuelto. Tengo que adevertir que Bring Her Back no es para cualquiera, no estés esperando algo ligero con sustos fáciles y un final donde todos se abrazan, tienes que estar dispuesto a aguantar y ver a los personajes actuando por pura desesperación con una historia de fondo, Tiene buenas actuaciones, el ambiente es tenso y si prestas atención vas a descubrir los pequeños detalles que te harán entender algunas cosas.
