While trying to finish Longing for you and waiting for the 2 final episodes, I came across Good Job, a south korean action comedy drama starring Jung Il-Woo. If you’re familiar with Stealer: The Treasure Keeper, it bears quite a bit of resemblance but in this Good Job, there's an element of fantasy added to spice things up. Good Job has 12 episodes and each episode runs about an hour. K-drama is also known to be on the forefront of tech culture and it is shown in this video where NFT, Web3 and AI was mentioned. Considering it was 2022, those three were the buzzwords and this drama features a fictional setting of a company who works in those fields. Without further adieu, let me tell you what this k-drama is all about and whether it’s worth your time or not.

A mysterious old man appears at an exclusive auction and is actually a man in disguise who tries to look for the rare jewelry. His name is Eun Seon-Woo who works with his partner, a hacker and cleaner Yang Jin-Mo who is also a lawyer by his day profession. They both were working to uncover the mystery of a murder that involves Seon-Woo’s mother and the necklace. But during the day, Seon-Woo is actually a successful businessman and runs Eun Kang Group. One day, he was bumping into Don Se-Ra(Kwon-Yuri) who was working multiple jobs and they met when Se-Ra was in her delivery job. Seon-Woo while running from gangsters chasing after him, he uses Se-Ra’s motorbike. They eventually met a couple of times by chance and it turned out that his partner Jin-Mo was a neighbor of Se-Ra’s friend who owns a bakery nearby. Although at first they all meet in a bad situation, they eventually work together as Se-Ra has a unique ability that was needed by Seon Woo. Will they be able to uncover the necklace mystery? Find out more as you watch this action packed yet comedic K-drama.

When I first watched the first episode, I was already laughing so hard because Jin-Mo (Eum Moon-Suk) and Seon-Woo had a lot of comedic lines that made you laugh. It features high-tech references, scenes and also action packed. The mystery is also there and it drives the course of the story. It makes you wonder why the main character’s mother’s killed and the necklace was taken away. I have to say that after watching Longing for you, it was a breath of fresh air to find something so funny and entertaining. When compared to Stealer, it’s definitely more funny to me personally because though the other one has comedic lines and scenes, it wasn’t able to make me really laugh freely like Good Job. Somehow, this also reminds me of a K-drama Terius behind me but obviously, they have a different plot, just similar comedy and similar action style. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for something fresh to watch.

Haha I love Korean comedy series, I'm definitely adding this to my watch list.
The lead guy looks familiar but I can't seem to remember the series I saw him in.

Nice review, will see it soon 💯

(Edited)

He's quite famous. Perhaps you've watched Cinderella or maybe Sweet Munchies?

I love Korean series..that's what drew me to your post🤭...I'll try this series 😊

avatar

What's your favorite one?

avatar

Hmm...hard to pick but let's say "Tale of a nine tailed fox" and I also really love "Suspicious partner"and "Law school" too🤭.

Greetings Mac, I am one of those people who watch series and movies for the actors even if they seem bad, haha I accept that, but I see that this is not the case, I love Jung Il Woo since cinderella and the 3 knights and what I like most about kdramas are always those doses of comedy between takes, I feel that I will like this series, thanks for recommending it, I was looking for something light to watch that would distract me, I will go for it!

Cheers Mac 💞

I watched that version of Cinderella like 1000 times haha. It's really nice to have that drama on while I am eating. So like you, most of these romcom is pretty much a distraction and just something to watch while I am doing something else.

Hahaha I don't know Korean, but I know the soundtrack Mac, I love that series, it's one of my favorites to relax, last night I searched for this one and downloaded the chapters 🤗🤗 Here waiting for a gentleman like that hahahahaha

Man, I have a hard time watching anything to do with Korean movies or series, I don't know why, I guess it's a bit of bias on my part because I feel like I'm going to find them cheesy no matter if they're comedies or dramas. I think I should leave those prejudices behind and watch something of this style, maybe I'll take advantage of this one which is a comedy and see if I get hooked.

Greetings my friend!

haha yeah, everyone has their bias until proven otherwise. For me, it's C-drama but after watching a few and finishing some, I learned that their production has evolved and the storyline is quite interesting. You should maybe check out non ROMCOM and more action or investigative k-drama, they are pretty good.

I don't know why I haven't watched any k drama, maybe it's because anything never actually caught my attention. But with this review I think I finally found something nice and entertaining. It sounds like a nice thing to watch and if you recommend it I'll definitely give it a try.

Thanks for sharing this!

There are good K-drama but also crappy ones. It's hard to judge just by watching one. Perhaps for me, it was because I grew up with it so watching it just like another tuesday and by now, I am quite picky with the drama I am watching unless it really caught my attention, I usually won't experiment too much with the genre too.

You are a Korean movie fan too?

We sure do have lots of k-pop fans on Hive, I love how you made the movie review look simple, I have been having issues myself on what a good movie or book review should entail, this was self explanatory.

Thanks for sharing dear !lady

avatar

Haha yes, I would not say I am a fan but I watched dozens of them by now 🤣

I don't think a movie review should be a lot complex with no value to add and rambling on the plot. keep it sweet and simple but most importantly, make a good distinction between if it's an on-going or a finished one. Then, just share your opinion and why you would want others to watch it.

This is also applicable to a book review right?

It looks good, plus I love these comedy series, as soon as I get the chance I'll be watching it. Thanks for sharing.

Ya, it has a good mix of serious and funny too!
