I Finally Watched Crash Landing On You

After a few years being curious of this K-drama, I finally watched it. Crash Landing On You was quite popular back in the day. I kept hearing about it but only about a week ago, I got the time to. This romance k-drama revolves around a story of female CEO paragliding and lost into the north Korean territory. In North Korea, she meets Ri Jeong Hyeok, A North Korean captain who ended up protecting and helping her to eventually return to South Korea. This K-drama has 16 episodes starring Hyun-Bin and Son Ye-Jin as is available on Netflix.

This drama portrays the lives in North korea and how it’s seen through a South Korean socialite. Ye_jin plays as Yoon Se-Ri managed to experience what it was like living in North Korea. Since she is a south korean, captain Ri Jeong Hyeok had to conceal her real identity by saying that she's her fiancee who worked as an intelligent agent abroad. Eventually, Ye-jin got back to South Korea and the captain along with her teammate also went into the mission in South Korea.

One of the nice thing about this K-drama is the main characters and its development that are seen throughout the film. Many people I talked to also mentioned that this K-drama is quite iconic and now I can see why. It’s hard not to fall in love with the characters in the series. There were also good amount of laugh and banter among the characters that made this can be categorized as comforting K-drama. The chemistry between the actors were also unmatched and it was as if they were a real couple. In the past, I really thought this K-drama would be way too cheesy and typical. But apparently, not. It’s just wholesome in its own way. Unfortunately, it's a lot less memorable to me compared to other Korean series that I've been following lately such as Moving, The Killing vote as well as The Uncanny Encounter. However, I would definitely recommend this K-drama if you’re only starting to dive into south korean series.

back to K drama again :)

haha yeah! I've watched a few now but it's mostly not romcom and dramedies. More like action and thriller K-drama.

@macchiata you saw it! It is one of my favorite dramas, I loved with madness the group of military friends hahahaha they are too funny! this drama became very famous because "supposedly" portrayed how life in North Korea is developed, I do not know if it is real, but it scared me to think that here we can get at some point to that state 😵‍💫.

Certainly there are better ones, but especially the comedy that printed that group of military men, I loved it! I usually like dramas more for some supporting actors and even the antagonists instead of the protagonists 🙃.

I don't know why it's been so hard for me to get back into kdramas lately, I'm still into documentaries 🥹. I'll try to take a look at those you're looking at now.

Those were the funny part but north korea being quite develop is something I'd love to see. Honestly, if I were given the chance, I'd visit the country haha. It doesn't look that bad when you ignore the politics and everything else. I've been watching some documentaries on netflix but I still have to finish some of my series xD the list is literally super long!

I didn't watch this immediately while it was trending. Sometimes too much commotion about a drama disintetest me a little. I watch it later on and like everyone else, loved it. It is a comforting drama and knowing they end up together in real life satisfy the fantasy. 😄

avatar

Same here, I only watch after the hype ends. When it's trending I tend to avoid them at my best :D and like you said, it's one of those comforting k-dramas. Even for me, I watch them while eating hehe or just needing something cozy to watch.

avatar

Oh great! You finally did hehe
The couple in the series are real life couple but I'm not sure they starred in this series before their marriage.

Hmm this series isn't so memorable compared to Uncanny Counter? Are you on the first season or second season?

I've only seen the first season and yeah, it's a great series but I'm not sure I can compare both since they are of different genres 😅

The Killing Vote, will check that out... Seem thrilling!

avatar

I think they starred this before they got married? I already finished all season of Uncanny Encounter, it's average but a lot more memorable to me than this one :D The killing vote is still on going and so far it's pretty good. I can't wait for it to end.

(Edited)

Oh I didn't know the uncanny counter has ended, will start the next season soon.

One of the K Dramas I love. I miss watching this one. I fell in love with the characters and how they portray their roles as actors.

I didn't know that people actually love this k-drama :D

avatar

Yey, finally you watched this series! 😍 The main actors dated and got married. Such a beautiful story! One my fav k-drama.
