Nothing is what it seems | Courage under fire Movie Review (En-Es)

Many years ago I saw a film that I liked a lot, even though the genres of violence and war are not my favorite, today in search of something to watch on TV I found it on a cable channel. I can't understand why on Sundays they always show only old but very good and blockbuster movies. However, I enjoy them, as they usually make me evoke some anecdote from my life. The year 1996 was the best year of my life, as my son Jesus was born in December.
It was also a very good year for the seventh art, with blockbusters and classics. Even though Courage Under Fire was not very successful, I liked it. This film shows the dark side of the human being that manifests itself at some point in life and that for a few minutes can change the destiny of other people. We are capable of lying to survive. I am not the one to criticize these situations, I only insist that history is told by the winners and those who die are forgotten.
Nobody cares about the losers, however, it would be very interesting at some point to discover the feelings of the one who was on the other side. I believe that in the end what matters is to accept that we were wrong and to have the courage to accept it. I know that this does not bring him back to life, but it calms the conscience and soothes the soul. This film is one of the few I have seen about wars, because I don't like them. Wars lead to nothing and there are no winners or losers. It is preferable to love and wave the flag of peace.
Denzel Hayes Washington in his role of Lieutenant Colonel Serling, is going through a trauma, because he mistakenly gives the order to attack an allied tank, where his best friend, Captain Boylar dies and this unbalances him emotionally and also professionally. He makes the decision because the enemy tanks had infiltrated. He is dismissed and sent to work at a desk. He is put in charge of the investigation of Captain Walden.
In the course of the film you can see how they start to put obstacles and take him off the case so that he does not continue investigating. However, he wants to find out the truth and what really happened? And whether Captain Walden deserves the Medal of Honor. All the characters have internal conflicts; Serling is torn between telling the truth to his friend Boylar's parents or hiding it. Still, he decides to find out the truth about Waldem, as he finds many contradictions in the report. The conflicts of the characters make it evident that despite all the good part struggles to come out and tell the truth, those involved do not resist the pressure of what really happened.
Montfriez was the traitor and coward, as I said before, it is not for me to judge, but this character is the one who has more conflicts and fears. This leads him to suicide in order not to face military justice and society. Finally, during the investigation it is discovered that they lied and that they left her to die alone and did not come to her aid when the helicopter arrived. They preferred to accept Montfriez's version, to keep quiet and say that she was dead. In the end everything comes to light and the truth is discovered.
Waldem was a good daughter, an exemplary woman and professional. She was also a great mother.

In 1996 some blockbuster films were released, such as Independence Day, Jumanji, Toy Story, Mission Impossible, Courage Under Fire, among others. Courage Under Fire was released in October 1996. It is an action, drama and war film. It was directed by Edward Zwick and lasts approximately 1 hour and 56 minutes. It had excellent actors such as Denzel Hayes Washington, Matt Damon, Lou Diamond Phillips, Meg Ryan, among others not less relevant.
I found it very interesting how a group of surviving soldiers ruin Captain Walden's honor and life's work just because she is a woman. And nothing is what it seems, they go so far as to invent that she was a coward.

Sometimes nothing is what it seems. However, we must take into consideration that life is a sequence of events, one after the other, and a lie will only result in more lies. It is essential not to cause harm to other people and much less to try to extinguish their light. And if you are no longer able to defend yourself, it is terrible. Friends of the #Movies&Shows Community I hope you like the review of this movie, Courage under fire. It's oldie, but very good and this is why I recommend it.

Hace muchos años vi un filme que me gustó mucho, aun cuando los géneros de violencia y guerra no son mis preferidos, hoy en busca de algo para ver en la tele la encontré en un canal por cable. No logro entender por qué los domingos siempre pasan solo filmes viejitos pero muy buenos y taquilleros. Sin embargo, los disfruto, ya que generalmente me hacen evocar alguna anécdota de mi vida. El año 1996 fue el mejor año de mi vida, pues nació mi hijo Jesús en diciembre.
También este fue un año muy bueno para el séptimo arte, se presentaron películas taquilleras y clásicos. Aun cuando Valor bajo fuego, no fue muy exitoso, sin embargo, a mí me gusto. En este filme se evidencia el lado oscuro del ser humano que se manifiesta en algún momento de la vida y que por algunos minutos puede cambiar el destino de otras personas. Somos capaces de mentir por sobrevivir. No soy quién para criticar estas situaciones, solo insisto en que la historia la cuentan los vencedores y los que mueren se olvidan.
A nadie le importa los perdedores, sin embargo, sería muy interesante en algún momento descubrir el sentir del que estuvo del otro lado. Considero que al final lo que importa es aceptar que nos equivocamos y tener el valor de aceptarlo. Sé que con esto no se le devuelve la vida, pero tranquilizamos la conciencia y apaciguamos el alma. Este filme es uno de los pocos que he visto sobre las guerras, ya que no me gustan. Las guerras no llevan a nada y no hay ganadores ni perdedores. Es preferible amar y ondear la bandera de la paz.
Denzel Hayes Washington en su papel del teniente coronel Serling, está pasando por un trauma, porque él por equivocación da la orden de atacar a un tanque aliado, donde muere su mejor amigo, el capitán Boylar y esto lo desequilibra emocionalmente y también de manera profesional. Toma la decisión porque los tanques enemigos se habían infiltrado. Es destituido y enviado a trabajar en un escritorio. Es encargado de la investigación de la Capitana Walden.
En el transcurso de la película se puede observar como comienzan a poner trabas y lo sacan del caso para que no siga investigando. Sin embargo, él quiere encontrar la verdad y ¿Qué fue lo que en realidad sucedió? Y si la capitana Walden merece la Medalla de Honor. Todos los personajes tienen conflictos internos; Serling discrepa entre decir la verdad a los padres de su amigo Boylar u ocultarlo. Aun así, decide descubrir la verdad sobre Waldem, ya que encuentra muchas contradicciones en el informe. Los conflictos de los personajes evidencian que a pesar de todo la parte buena lucha por salir y decir la verdad, los involucrados no resisten la presión de lo que verdaderamente sucedido.
Montfriez fue el traidor y cobarde, como dije anteriormente, no me toca juzgar, pero este personaje es el que tiene más conflictos y miedos. Esto lo lleva al suicidio para no enfrentar a la justicia militar y a la sociedad. Finalmente, durante la investigación se descubre que mintieron y que la dejaron morir sola y no fueron en su auxilio cuando llego el helicóptero. Prefirieron aceptar la versión de Montfriez, callar y decir que estaba muerta. Al final todo sale a la luz y se descubre la verdad.
Waldem fue una buena hija, mujer y profesional ejemplar. También una gran madre.

A mí me pareció muy interesante como un grupo de soldados que sobreviven echan por tierra el honor y el trabajo de toda la vida de la capitana Walden solo por ser mujer. Y nada es lo que parece, llegan hasta el punto de inventar que era una cobarde.

Algunas veces nada es lo que parece. Sin embargo, hay que tomar en consideración que la vida es una secuencia de eventos, unos tras otros, y una mentira solo traerá como consecuencia más mentiras. Es fundamental no ocasionar un mal a otras personas y mucho menos tratar de apagar su luz. Y si estás ya no pueden defenderse estos es terrible. No conocía esta película y se nota que es excelente! Me gustan mucho las historias en donde se abordan los traumas desde el grupo social, como algo “no visto” o estigmatizado, creo que abre las puertas al debate, tanto personal como con alguien más si compartes la producción.
