Hi Beautiful People of Hive, this is @mairaj.ansari from Karachi, Pakistan.

Since my childhood, I like the character of Rambo. I am a big fan of Rambo I, II and III movies as all are treat to watch. Out of these, I like the story of Rambo II the best.

Today is Sunday and last night I thought to watch a movie. After careful consideration among many, I decided to watch Rambo: Last Blood (2019)? The trailer looked really exciting, so I hit play.

Man, the action, the explosions, the bow and arrow, the weapons and ammo and of course Rambo’s classic tunnel-making skills, you have to give him credit for that. The typical Rambo style, using the bow and arrow and that deadly knife (which you don’t really see any modern hero using anymore), is what makes him unique. That’s Rambo’s real specialty and versatility.

The story starts with Rambo shown as an older but still strong and experienced man. He’s living on his old family ranch near the Arizona-Mexico border. Along with him is his longtime friend Maria and her granddaughter Gabriella, who is like a daughter to Rambo.
Gabriella, who was abandoned by her father at birth, has only one wish in her heart, to meet him, ask him why he left her, and maybe find some closure. In this struggle, she connects with a Mexican friend online who helps her find her father’s whereabouts. Despite Rambo and Maria warning her not to go, she crosses the U.S. border and heads into Mexico. And from there, the drama begins…

Well, like always, I won’t give away too many spoilers. But what I do want to say is that Hollywood directors really need to move beyond their typical mindset. What I mean is, they always show that once you step outside the U.S., every country is lawless, full of thugs and criminals. But in reality, that’s not the case. Yes, crime exists, corruption exists, but there’s also a certain order in place. In this film, just like many others, they’ve exaggerated the “outside the U.S. = chaos” idea.

A lot of action, sheer killings but I really didn’t like the story of the movie and therefore, I wouldn’t recommend my readers to watch it. But if you have already watched the movie, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
