No One Get Out Alive [Movie Review] ESP/ENG

Let's talk about this horror movie I found on Netflix last weekend. As usual, I came across a very promising trailer, with shocking scenes that made me want to watch the film, so when I decided to watch it... What do you think I found? Was it good or bad?
Hablemos de esta película de terror que encontré en Netflix el pasado fin de semana, al igual que siempre me encontré con un trailer muy prometedor, con escenas impactantes que me invitaban a ver el film, así que cuando decidí verla... ¿Qué creen que encontré? ¿Fue buena o mala?
Overview/Resumen
Ambar is a young woman who has recently arrived in Cleveland, USA, from Mexico. She has no documents, so she does everything she can to obtain them while working in a factory. This leads her to an old Victorian mansion run by a somewhat strange man who has divided the rooms into apartments. Ambar doesn't like it much, but at least the place is cheap. However, little by little, she begins to notice things that aren't right: screams, strange visions, tenants who suddenly disappear, and so on. But everything changes when she discovers a stone box that the owner of the property and his brother kept hidden in the basement.
Ambar es una chica recién llegada de México a la ciudad de Cleveland, Usa, ella no tiene documentos así que hace lo posible por conseguirlos mientras trabaja en una fábrica, de esta manera llega a una vieja casona victoriana regentada por un hombre medio extraño que dividió las habitaciones en departamentos, a Ambar n le gusta mucho pero al menos el lugar es barato, sin embargo poco a poco ella va percibiendo cosas que no están bien: gritos, visiones extrañas, inquilinas que de pronto desaparecen, en fin, pero todo cambia cuando ella descubre una caja de piedra que el dueño de la propiedad y su hermano mantenían oculta en el sótano.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
Okay, let's see where we begin. I suppose you can already guess that I didn't like the movie. Every time I see new films, I'm more convinced that nothing is the same anymore, and that's why I much prefer the movies of the past. Horror cinema stopped innovating and became more reliant on jump scares. But when they don't use jump scares, they throw in so many plot twists or character changes that they end up confusing the audience. And that's precisely what happened with this movie. I think they overused the protagonist's hallucinations to the point where the plot became too confusing, and it was almost impossible to tell what was real and what was fantasy.
Ok, veamos por donde empezamos, supongo que ya ustedes deben intuir que la película no fue de mi agrado, y es que cada vez que veo nuevas películas confirmo más el hecho de que ya nada es lo mismo y por eso prefiero mil veces las películas de antes, y es que el cine de terror dejó de innovar y se apegó más a los sustos rápidos generados por Jumscare, pero cuando no lo hacen meten tantos giros de trama o de personajes que terminan confundiendo a la audiencia, y fue precisamente esto último lo que sucedió con esta película, pienso que abusaron del recurso de las alucinaciones de la protagonista hasta el punto en el que la trama se volvió demasiado confusa y ya era casi imposible saber qué tanto era realidad y que tanto fantasía.
I don't know if they wanted to give the film a more philosophical meaning, representing in that Aztec deity or entity the entire system of abuse that the protagonist experiences since emigrating (labor exploitation), but what's annoying is that at the beginning they were giving the film a focus, making us believe that it was about ghosts and apparitions, but then, without leaving the paranormal realm, they come out with a creature that is actually an Aztec deity (which, needless to say, does not correspond to the geographical environment).
No sé si quisieron darle un sentido más filosófico a la película, representando en esa deidad o ente azteca, todo el sistema de abuso que vive la protagonista desde que emigró (explotación laboral) pero lo que molesta es que al inicio le estaban dando un enfoque a la película, haciéndonos creer que se trataba de fantasmas y apariciones, pero después, sin dejar el terreno paranormal, nos salen con una criatura que en realidad se trata de una deidad azteca (que demás está decir n corresponde con el entorno geográfico)
But look, not everything was bad with this movie because I can really say that at the beginning it had a good handling of the horror, excellent cinematography that reflected the mixed feelings of the protagonist (that strange mix between a feeling of overcoming but also the guilt for having left everything behind), the performances were up to par and each actor conveyed the emotions of their characters very well.
Pero a ver, no todo estuvo mal con esta película porque realmente puedo decir que al inicio tuvo un buen manejo del terror, una excelente fotografía que reflejaba los sentimientos encontrados de la protagonista (esa extraña mezcla entre un sentimiento de superación pero también la culpa por haberlo dejado todo atrás) las actuaciones estuvieron a la altura y cada actor transmitió muy bien las emociones de sus personajes.
But as I said, nowadays when I go to watch horror movies I don't have the same expectations as before, but anyway this is just my opinion, thanks for letting me share it with you.
Pero tal como dije, hoy en día cuando voy a consumir cine de terror ya n tengo las mismas expectativas de antes, pero en fin esta es solo mi opinión, gracias por dejarme compartirla con ustedes .
