Friends, how are you all? I hope you are well wherever you are. Today I will tell you the story of a movie that I couldn't get out of my head after watching it. I mean, it's like I didn't just watch the movie, it was like a different conversation with myself. The name of the movie is 'Lifeline, I was thinking that if I don't talk about such a story, my mind might not be at peace.

A shock at the beginning: What was the attraction of this 'Lifeline'?
Let's get to the point. For those of us who live alone at night, when a thought suddenly comes to mind, then our mobile phone is our only hope, right? The main character of this movie is a man who runs a suicide prevention helpline. Just think about his job? Talking to strangers at night, who are trying to turn their backs on life, and bringing them back to the light. Although it sounds easy, the job is actually as difficult as pushing a mountain.
One night, a call came to his phone. And this call turned the movie around. Someone on the other end of the phone was claiming, "I am you." How does it feel to hear that? I mean, this is a complete bullshit story! But no, the man wasn't just making claims, he was telling personal things, giving information that no other living person in the world should know, except our operator himself. I was thinking, "Oh my God! Is this a ghost movie or a psychological thriller?" I felt like something like this was happening to me.
The next part was even more terrifying. The mysterious voice on the other end of the phone threatened, "Only one more hour. In this one hour, I will end my life." Since he was saying that he was the operator, it became clear that the operator would have to unravel all the mysteries in order to save 'himself' in this one hour. Time was running at that time, and I was also looking at the clock with the operator. Every minute, every second seemed to increase the beating in my chest.
Director's craftsmanship and actors' magic:
Director Feras Alfuqaha, to be honest, did a great job. The entire movie is about an operator's phone conversation and his mental battle. But believe me, it didn't feel boring or monotonous for a moment. He created tension in such a way, hiding secrets in the story in such a way that you can't get up from your chair. You'll feel like, "Hey! What will happen next?"
And what can I say about the acting! Josh Stewart was so immersed in the main character that his fear, his restlessness, his pain seemed to affect me. He portrayed the state of mind of a person who suffers from his existential crisis, faces his inner demons very beautifully. Judah Lewis, August Maturo, Charlene Amoia, Jill Aubrey, Jocelyn Ayanna, Nicole Santiago – all have made a great impression in their small roles, which added depth to the story.
This movie is actually not just a mystery-solving story. It is a great mix of psychological drama and thriller. There are no fights, no flashy action. There is only an inner struggle, there is extreme mental stress. This issue of saving 'yourself' made me think a lot. How many times in life do we fight with our own negative thoughts, fears or past mistakes, right? This movie is a symbolic form of that difficult fight.
My thoughts: Why should I watch this movie?
After watching the movie, I felt that life is actually a huge 'lifeline'. We are all its operators, who are constantly talking to the 'other me' inside us. Sometimes that 'other me' pushes us in the wrong direction, and sometimes it gives us courage. This movie may make you ask yourself questions that you have never asked yourself before.
For example, why do people think about suicide? How can a phone call change a person's life? Can we really run away from our fears? Or do we have to face them at some point? These kinds of questions were swirling in my mind after watching the movie.
The movie may not have the hype or big budget like many commercial movies, but its story, acting, and suspense will keep you hooked. The IMDb rating of 6.8 may not seem like much to many, but I would say that it is a good enough rating for this kind of story. Because, this movie doesn't just tell a story, it evokes a feeling, gives food for thought.
If you want to watch a movie that will not only keep you glued to the screen, but also plant a new thought in your brain, then 'Lifeline' is perfect for you. It may teach you that the biggest struggle in life is actually with yourself, and how important it is to know yourself to win that struggle.
Everyone stay well, stay healthy, and don't forget to experience watching different kinds of movies!
