Split desde que la vi por primera vez, se volvió una de mis películas favoritas de terror, recuerdo que la vi al tiempo de que salió y la vi muchas veces más porque es una película increíble.
En ella vemos la historia de Kevin, un hombre que sufre de trastorno de personalidad, con el cual se distingue con 23 personalidades, algunas de ellas un poco malvadas, así que secuestra tres adolescentes para que sirvan de “alimento” a la bestia. En ello también vemos la historia de Casey, una de las jóvenes secuestradas que se ve diferente al resto, está es muy distante, solitaria y parece saber como reaccionar frente al peligro, o por lo menos un poco más “inteligente” que sus otras dos compañeras.
Claire esta celebrando su cumpleaños en un restaurante junto a todos sus compañeros de arte, entre eso está su mejor amiga Marcia y la “rara” del salón Caesy la cual fue invitada nada más por no rechazarla más socialmente, como es de esperarse, no pasaron por ella y el Padre de Claire se ofrece a llevarla a su casa, cuando su padre anda guardando las cosas en la cajuela del auto, alguien se acerca a él, luego de eso solo vemos restos de comida en el piso (todo esto solo lo nota Caesy) y un hombre extraño se sube al auto, las jóvenes al decirle que se equivocó del carro produce a drogarlas, a casey no le hace nada porque la ve tranquila, en eso se intenta bajar del auto con mucho cuidado pero es delatada por el sensor del carro al abrir una puerta, así que también termina drogada.
Cuando despiertan están en una habitación confundidas e ideando como pueden salir de ahí, en eso entra el hombre y se lleva a Marcia, este hombre es muy fuerte, las carga a todas como si no pesaran él lo absoluto, en eso Caesy logra decirle que se Orinara para que lo le hiciera nada, ya que esto le daría asco ya que era una persona bastante compulsiva con el orden y la limpieza. Las dos amigas siguen pensando en cómo salir pero Casey parece resignada, no encuentra como realmente tendrían posibilidades de salir.
Escuchan una conversación entre el hombre y una señora, ellas gritan, para que alguien las escuche, pero para su sorpresa, cuando abre la puerta es el mismo hombre que estaba teniendo una conversación con el mismo, esto las deja aún más confundidas, al rato, llega otra persona, el mismo hombre pero ahora con una personalidad de Niño, comienza a hablar con ellos y Casey ve la oportunidad de ganárselo y sacarle información, ahí ya sabemos que es un hombre con varias personalidades, entre esos está Dennis, Patricia y Hedwing (quien es el niño de 9años).
Paralelo a todo esto vemos cómo las otras personalidades de este hombre intenta pedirle ayuda a su Psicóloga la Dra Fletcher, quien está profundamente interesada en demostrar que estas personalidades le dan cualidades a él mismo ser que las posee, es decir, una puede ser zurda y la otra diestra, una puede tener diabetes y las otras pueden estar totalmente sanas, pero nadie les cree y solo piensa que son personas locas. Es por eso que Barry, otras de las personalidades de Kevin intenta pedirle ayuda, pero no logra estar tiempo suficiente en la luz, así que Dennis simula ser Barry, pero la Doctora lo conoce bien y no es fácil de engañar.
Estas dos personalidades que son Dennis y Patricia estaban vetados de la Luz, por su personalidad malvada y acosadora, pero al parecer, tuvo un evento traumático que logró poner nuevamente estas personalidades a cargo, ellas tienen la idea de que llegará una personalidad 24 a quien apodan la “Bestia” al al cual le deben ofrecer jóvenes impuras como sacrificio.
Sin caer en más detalles porque estoy segura que es una película que se disfruta todo el tiempo y vale la pena verla, los dejo con la intriga de qué pasa para los que no la han visto y se tomen el tiempo de disfrutarla. Esta película pertenece a una trilogía de películas, pero, no es necesaria verla para entenderlas, es más, yo diría que es sumamente innecesario y que hasta la terminan dañando un poco, Estas son las películas de El Protegido (2000) y la de Glass (2019). El protegido también funciona por sí sola, es más solo lo que los une es una escena post créditos de Split y claro, en glass que ya aparecen sus personajes.
Una de las cosas admirables de esta película son las actuaciones de James McAvoy que hace un papel increíble, sus expresiones fáciles con cada personalidad es admirable, y Anya Taylor-Joy tiene un rostro de “trauma” genial para este tipo de películas.

The two friends continue thinking about how to get out but Casey seems resigned, she doesn't see how they would really have a chance to get out.
They hear a conversation between the man and a woman, they shout for someone to hear them, but to their surprise, when the door opens it is the same man who was having a conversation with the same man, this leaves them even more confused, after a while , another person arrives, the same man but now with a Child personality, he begins to talk to them and Casey sees the opportunity to win him over and get information from him, there we already know that he is a man with several personalities, among those are Dennis, Patricia and Hedwing (who is the 9 year old boy).
Parallel to all this we see how the other personalities of this man try to ask for help from his Psychologist Dr. Fletcher, who is deeply interested in demonstrating that these personalities give qualities to the very being that possesses them, that is, one can be left-handed and On the other hand, one may have diabetes and the others may be completely healthy, but no one believes them and only thinks that they are crazy people. These two personalities, Dennis and Patricia, were banned from the Light due to their evil and harassing personality, but apparently they had a traumatic event that managed to put these personalities in charge again. They have the idea that a 24th personality will come to whom They nickname the “Beast” to whom they must offer impure young women as a sacrifice.
Without going into more details because I am sure that it is a film that is enjoyed all the time and is worth seeing, I leave you with the intrigue of what happens for those who have not seen it and take the time to enjoy it. This film belongs to a trilogy of films, but it is not necessary to see it to understand them, in fact, I would say that it is extremely unnecessary and that they even end up damaging it a little. These are the films of Unbreakable (2000 ) and Glass (2019). Unbreakable also works on its own, the only thing that unites them is a post-credits scene from Split and of course, in glass their characters already appear.
One of the admirable things about this film is the performances of James McAvoy who plays an incredible role, his easy expressions with each personality is admirable, and Anya Taylor-Joy has a great “trauma” face for this type of movies.
