Midnight Letters Prompt #4:The Exorcist

It's already midnight, my night owl friends. A hug and a kiss full of stars to everyone.

Today I'll be telling you about the scariest horror movie I've ever seen, the one that doesn't even let me blink for a second. "The Exorcist." Here are some images for your enjoyment, and maybe you'll even be motivated to watch it with your family. Yes, I say with your family because I honestly don't like watching it alone.

This movie tells the story of a twelve-year-old girl who is the victim of paranormal phenomena. Her mother, terrified, goes to a priest with a degree in psychiatry. He's convinced that the girl is a victim of demonic possession. So, with the help of another priest, he decides to perform an exorcism.

The Exorcist became the first horror film to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture (winning two, for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Sound). Its release caused a furor and hysteria among the public.

According to reports at the theaters, when it was released, fainting, vomiting, and viewers were walking out of the theaters. Theaters had to hire emergency personnel to treat those affected. Can you imagine that?

This is a film considered emotionally devastating and tense, as well as deeply disturbing, as it examines the fragility of the mind, body, and spirit. It is a must-see not only for horror lovers, but for anyone interested in classic cinema. This last part is very important to mention, as it elevated horror cinema to a new level of seriousness and critical respect. It also paved the way for future horror films to explore darker and more controversial themes with a greater degree of graphic realism. It marked an extraordinary beginning for films in this genre.

Without further ado, I wish you a lovely evening. I'll be watching the movie right now, if you'd like to join me from home.
