En el día de hoy paso por acá para contarles acerca de una película, de esas que vemos en una tarde de mucho frío y sin mucho que hacer ji, ji, ji. Le hablo de la cinta "A pesar de ti". "A pesar de ti" es una película que está dirigida por Josh Boone la cual fue basada en la novela de Colleen Hoover y la misma llega a los cines en 2025 como una de las propuestas más emotivas del año, cuando al género drama romántico familiar se refiere.

La película cuenta con un reparto de lujo encabezado por Allison Williams en el papel de Morgan Grant, Mckenna Grace interpretando a Clara, además de Dave Franco y Mason Thames, la cinta tiene una duración aproximadamente de 117 minutos y la misma se estrenó en octubre del año pasado. La historia de esta entrega televisiva gira en torno a Morgan, una madre joven que sacrificó sus sueños por un embarazo y matrimonio prematuros.

Más adelante se basa la trama en la relación con su hija adolescente Clara, la cual es bastante tensa, y se ve marcada por la sobreprotección de Morgan, quien teme como es lógico que su hija repita sus mismos "errores". La película tiene un giro inesperado, dónde todo cambia drásticamente tras un trágico accidente, que cobra la vida del esposo de Morgan y a la vez padre de Clara, revelando al mismo tiempo una traición devastadora que sacude los cimientos de la familia.

Desde este mismo punto, madre e hija deben enfrentar no solo el duelo y el dolor de la perdida de un ser querido, sino también secretos familiares, resentimientos acumulados y la necesidad de redefinir el amor, el perdón y la confianza entre ellas. Por otra parte, Clara experimenta su primer amor con un chico del instituto, lo que le añade otros matices de conflicto emocional a la película.

El director en esta película equilibra momentos de drama intenso con toques de ligereza y humor sutil, y el guión por otra parte, explora temas de duelo, las segundas oportunidades, el perdón hacia los demás y hacia uno mismo y las contradicciones del amor familiar, esta es una película que no busca giros espectaculares ni innovar en el género, sino conectar con el público a través de la honestidad emocional.

Los diálogos de la peli, aunque en ocasiones pueden verse algo cursi y predecibles, transmiten verdades cotidianas que resuenan, especialmente en escenas entre madre e hija, donde el resentimiento y el cariño chocan de forma cruda pero auténtica. Sin dudas Allison Williams ofrece una Morgan contenida y compleja, transmitiendo dolor reprimido y vulnerabilidad sin exageraciones.

Por otra parte Mckenna Grace, como Clara, brilla en su transición de adolescente rebelde a alguien que madura a golpes, su química con Mason Thames en el papel de Miller es natural y tierna, convirtiendo la subtrama romántica en uno de los puntos más luminosos y creíbles de la cinta. Dave Franco aporta carisma en un rol secundario, pero clave, mientras que el resto del elenco cumple un papel importante, pero sin robar protagonismo.

En general visualmente la película nos muestra una estética cálida y con buena fotografía. La banda sonora acompaña la cinta en todo su curso, pero sin imponerse, reforzando el tono emotivo sin caer en manipulación excesiva, sin embargo, no todo es perfecto en esta cinta, pues algunos críticos señalan que el guión peca de predecible, con diálogos que por momentos suenan forzados o demasiado melodramáticos, y que la trama secundaria romántica adolescente a veces no deja ver el conflicto central madre e hija.

En general la intención de esta película, no es revolucionar el cine, sino ofrecer una experiencia, ideal para una tarde de lágrimas y suspiros. En resumen, "A pesar de ti" es una película que no pretende ganar premios, sino conquistar corazones. Funciona especialmente bien para fans del drama romántico familiar, la cual nos entrega emociones honestas, actuaciones sólidas y un mensaje esperanzador sobre sanar heridas y arriesgarse a vivir sin arrepentimientos, la verdad, amigos, vale la pena verla si buscas algo que te haga sentir, reflexionar sobre tus propias relaciones y salir con una sensación agridulce pero reconfortante.
