CineTV Contest: My all-time favorite Disney film, The Lion King..
Happy start to the week for everyone, today I'm joining the contest proposed by the CineTV team: Cine TV Contest #134 - Favorite Disney Movie, in which they invite us to talk about our favorite Disney movie. I honestly think it's really hard haha, because all or most Disney movies are great. I'm from that era, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, Mulan, and the truth is it's really hard to choose just one. But if I have my favorite, of course it's from my childhood. I grew up watching these Disney movies. It was almost always a villain, a princess, and a prince, a happy ending, like a fantasy world. Now things have changed a lot. The movies are a little more realistic, they touch on themes that children are experiencing today, and teenagers, such as bullying, emotions, empathy, among others, and it's something I think is very appropriate and necessary in these times. Now for my favorite movie.
The Lion King is and will be my favorite Disney animated film. This animated film marked a before and after in my time. It is undoubtedly a classic. Even today, it continues to make a difference, and it is well deserved. It brings us a beautiful story that combines everything: love, hate, revenge, loyalty, friendship, tragedy, and humor. It is a film that leaves us with a great message. When I saw The Lion King, I was about 12 years old. I went to the theater to see the movie with a cousin and an aunt. I remember it very well. In the scene where Mufasa dies, I couldn't stop crying. It was very unfair to me, and I think this moment is etched in my memory. I currently watch it again with my little daughter, and this event still hits me haha. This film tells the story of Simba, the future King of the jungle, who will be involved in many adventures. After a devastating event, he must learn to live despite adversity. the importance of family, and accepting who he really is, his fight will be against evil, in order to take his place in the kingdom.
What I liked most about this movie I think everything about this story was impressive: the characters, the music—today I sing Hakuna Matata with my little girl, haha—the landscapes and their colors, the messages it left us in the little phrases that appeared in different scenes, definitely everything.
This movie influenced me in a very positive way, although I was just a child when I saw it, I understood very well what to do when we feel like things are wrong, or when we want to give up because of something bad that has happened to us. We have to move forward, cry, vent and follow our path, face adversity. And if there are sad moments, there will also be happy moments.
One of the scenes I enjoyed the most was when Simba meets Timon and Pumbaa, key characters in this story. In this scene, Simba learns things different from what he was used to, but little by little he grows and enjoys every moment with his loyal friends, who, despite seeming a little crazy, are very right in every phrase they leave us. Among these phrases, the most famous, hakuna matata, a way of being.
