A big part of why Hollywood writers and actors are striking. Of course, even if they win this battle, they’ll probably lose the war. A few years from now, some teenager in Angola could be cranking out masterpieces.
I think AI generated content will be a huge part of all types of content going forward. People will use cloud-based and open source AI systems trained by themselves to generate content tailored to their tastes. There's a ton of content I'd like to have an AI create for me for shits and giggles.
But I don't think human actors and writers will ever be completely out of a job. An AI is only capable of rehashing what humans have already produced. All masterpieces of art are borne out of the human condition. When the world changes AIs will always lag behind humans in reacting to it in (something imitating) a human way.
