Did they just delete Spiderman from the MCU
First of all I heard great reviews of Spiderman no way home and where it was a decent film it wasn't as good as everyone had made it out to be. The joining of all previous Spidermen was pretty cool and added to the film.

I guess it was always Marvel's greatest gaping hole, multiple spidermen movies with all different lead actors and each time an attempt by Sony to restart the franchise but never really being able to.

I remember being a kid and seeing Toby McGuire swinging around which was an awesome experience as spiderman was always my favourite as a kid. I guess there was no real reason to reboot spiderman for the Avengers so he just kind of appeared at the start.

The real problem with spiderman is that he is a kid superhero quite literally a kid still in school so it's hard for people to associate with him. Now that sounds odd in films solely based around aliens with magical powers. But how many times have you left a Fast and Furious movie thinking your Dom Toretto or DK?

Spiderman works for kids and doesn't have the same attraction to adults and needs to be supported.

But still good viewing none the less.

I do want to point out one thing from the film that really struck out to me, it wasn't so much growth in the movie itself but more of a goodbye. If you notice all of spidermans achievements over the past few decades were rolled into one.

All his enemies, all his wrongs everything, brought into one big grand finale. Now it wasn't an end per say because we know venom is making his way to him so we can expect to see Spiderman again.

But the ending undid and literally erased everything of the current Avengers MCU spiderman and reset him in the old story arch but in the current MCU. He even lost his Iron Man tech.

But there are massive holes in the story line I understand that the spell deletes him from people's memories but that doesn't account for computers, video footage, photos, year books, school scores. There is a lot.

You might be thinking the spell just made people forget that Peter Parker was spiderman and that's what I thought at first too. So him leaving his friends stranded made no sense because he could have just stayed there.

But when Peter arrives to MJ's work and sees his former best friend neither of them recognise him. That means the spell also erased him and his school life because surely they would have all still be friends they would just forget he was spiderman and MJ and Peter Parker would still be a couple.

The film in my opinion is sloppy, fails to deliver and makes no sense in the grand scheme of things and looks to just set spiderman up to continue the previous storyline away from being an Avenger. Either way we can expect Spiderman and Venom to tussle in a movie in the not so distant future.

What were your thoughts on Spiderman- No way home?

Thanks for your review! I actually went back to the theater to see this movie. :) First time in a while. I enjoyed the movie, the action, the crossovers, etc. The end is frustrating and I wonder how they are going to make it work moving forward. Thanks again.

You're welcome, I think they just opened the door for a Venom and Spiderman battle and it will most likely be a stand alone film franchise. It was quite heart breaking once realising what was happening. Dr Strange though, I can't wait for that film to come out!
