"Are We In Love?" - A Korean Short Movie - Review

I can't remember the last time I saw a full movie of an hour to two hours long that's a Korean drama, I've always preferred to see the lengthy ones with 16 episodes and more. I feel those ones has more details and makes you enjoy more scenes until the end and there's more satisfaction in seeing those lengthy ones than with a short movie that seem like they were rushing some scenes.

Well, somehow I found myself downloading to see this Korean short movie I came across while downloading other episodes of some recommended ones I got.

The male lead character was actually the main attraction for me to download this movie and I felt I could make do with a short movie for a change... I've literally been seeing lengthy episodes of kdramas for months now without much breaks. So I had this movie "Are We In Love?" downloaded and I finished it to the end in what seem like a split second.

One thing I've noticed with kdramas is that they tend to rush the end of most of their dramas when it's at the last episode and then I wonder what the deal will be if they instead add one more episode and allow their viewers feel more relaxed to get to the end and every be happy. Well, that seem not to be case and I've gotten used to their style, I always look forward to how they will rush the end when I'm at the second to last episode.

"Are We In Love?" is a short drama about a young girl who bakes at a coffee shop under a Boss who she feels doesn't treat her well by always scolding her whenever she comes and go to work late. She has a crush on her Boss but didn't know it was same for her Boss, they both acted like there was nothing going on in their heart towards each other.

The main focus on the drama is a "Magic Book" that an old woman gave to the girl and it was supposed to answer all her questions about Love and she decided to have a test run on it by asking a question "Will I ever find love?" the response she got wasn't satisfactory to her but as time goes on, the book began to seem right about what it told her.

She began to get attraction from different men who seem like they are serious about being with her, all these advances made her Boss realized that he was wasting time in getting a hold of her before she gets taken by another. The scenes that follow was love confession, a confused heart thinking if it was really the time to accept the confession and other obstacles that kept trying their love.

Honestly, I didn't enjoy the drama as I do with many other kinds of drama, of course with more episodes. The drama felt like they were forcing it to be interesting and there was almost nothing humorous in the drama too, the chemistry between the characters isn't strong too. I don't think I'll be seeing any Korean short drama anytime soon again, not after this lol.

But yeah, I'll recommend it for the cake and magical touch lovers, this movie has all that and I think that was what kept me on it till the end. 7/10
