"Kpop Demon Hunters" Review: The Best Characters Ranked

I saw the prompt focus for this week and I thought this is the sign I needed to finally review the recent cause of sensation in the movie industry, Kpop Demon Hunters. I've seen the movie for over five times but yet to write any review about it and that's simply because I've been thinking I'll have too much about it to share.

Anyone who have seen the movie will agree with me that there's so much to love about it, from the songs to the storyline to the characters and finally to the effect of the movie in the world today, everything is exciting and nice about the movie. So anyone would get why it has been kinda hard to share my thoughts on the movie.

"Kpop Demon Hunters" is a 2025 released animation movie that combines kpop (a Korean music style) with Korean culture to demon hunting, the characters are voiced by popular actors like Lee Byung-hun, Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Ahn Hyo-seop and Daniel Dae Kim. It's a movie that has top all the charts.

Honestly, I want to take my time to review every aspect of this movie to possibly bring more people who haven't seen it to go for it regardless of the hype because it is totally worth the hype. But to limit my review from being too lengthy for the read, I decided to share my thoughts on some characters I consider the best among the others.

They are the best because I enjoyed every scene they played in, they are funny, unique, beautiful designs, compelling characters and most of all, they bring out more emotions from me as a viewer which I believe is same for many other fans. Reviewing these best characters could give a good clue to anyone that the movie is worth it.

8. Baby Saja - Personality Goes Against Looks.

"Goo Goo Gaa Gaa!" still cracks me up anytime.

Baby Saja has to be the cutest rapper with a deep voice I've ever seen in an animation. He reminds so much of the kpop band member "Felix" in "Stray kids". Baby Saja has the most personality play after Jinu and he is an interesting villain who only goes along with Jinu's plan to bother huntrix. He has an innocent look but not innocent at all.

7. Healer Han - Too Creative and Accurate.

To treat the part, you must understand the whole!

I'm not sure how many viewers enjoyed the scene where Healer Han played in, I was literally cracking up at all that played out from the agreement to meet him, the meet up and the discovery after they left. Healer Han is one of the strangest and funny character with his wide eyes, accurate personality read and creative pictures.

6. Derpy Tiger - Fierce But Adorable.

It's attempt to right a fallen flower pot was lovely!

Jinu: I made it for the tiger but the bird keeps taking it. Jinu's Derpy tiger with the bird always with it gave me good sense of Korean culture in this movie. It's appearance might scare anyone off but his curiosity and mind to right things makes viewers forget it is owned by a demon lol.

5. Bobby - Stressed But Loves His Girls.

Bobby's words "I can handle this, I'm not having nervous breakdown" was so funny and reminds me so much of a particular manager in a kpop based drama series I saw years ago, "You Are Beautiful". Shocking thing was, I checked out the series because of Bobby. He loves and protects Huntrix even though he's so stressed, he's good!

4. Zoey - The Brightest Demon Hunter.

"Magicians! I mean, demons!" cracked me up too.

Her part in the song "Golden" gave away who she is, "I couldn't find my own place" but somehow Zoey is like a permanent light to the darkness of the demon hunters, a perfect example of loyalty to friends and always happy to bring solutions to anything that could cause issues among her friends. I'd say Zoey brings laughter when it's sad.

3. Mira - The Fierce Demon Hunter.

I came across a short clip that almost convinced me that Mira is a demon too. I know it's not true but her fierce side towards the demons and protecting her friends and fans with some points the clip shared, you'd almost believe she is a demon lol. Mira may seem harsh on the outside but she is only trying to stand for what is right.

2. Rumi - Part Demon With A Beautiful Voice.

I think Rumi being the leader of huntrix and is a part demon with a powerful voice speaks volume of how incredible she is and how much responsibilities she had on her shoulder. So it made sense when she did too much to keep her demon side from her friends. Rumi effortlessly demands for attention, she's a really great leader.

1. Jinu - The All-Rounder Character.

Jinu gave us so many iconic and funny moments like "Mind the face, I need it to steal your fans!", "Teady bears and choo choo trains, really? Choo Choo!" 😂 and then his heartwrecking words "You gave me my soul back and now, I give it to you"

Jinu is the most complex and developed character which makes the best out of all, he has the most tragic backstory and ending but his journey from being just an evil demon to sacrificing his soul to protect Rumi is one story arc that fans would always love. I also wish for a continuation for more of Jinu as others wish too.
