[Movie] "The Time Traveler's Wife" Review

I started to watch this movie and immediately I knew I was in for a rather confusing storyline. A little boy is about to die but didn't die and he's back in the future as an older guy, naked. My cousin and I had a bit of a hard time understanding what was going on few minutes into the story but it got better as the story continues.

I'll say I'm a fan of fantasy stories because I can only get to see most of them in the movies, not real life. So I liked the idea of what I'll find in this story when I came across the title as a recommendation. I was also curious to see more of Rachel McAdams after I saw her in "The Vow", I'll be seeing another of her movie soon.

"The Time Traveler's Wife" obviously, is a time travel, fantasy and romance movie released in the year 2009 starring Eric Bana as Henry Rachel McAdams as Clare and the story plays for 1 hour 47 minutes. The story explores the life of a traveler but more of the wife who have to live with a man that randomly travels.

Henry, a librarian guy with a special gene to time travel involuntarily, meets Claire who knows him but he doesn't know her. She introduces herself as his wife and tells him how they met, he falls in love with her as she loves him and he began to travel involuntarily to the places the wife have been with him, past and future.

They get married in the present and he is sent to another time as they were about to spend their wedding night together, leaving the wife alone on her bed, sad and wondering how she would cope with her reality. They continue to manage through to live as husband and wife, Claire gets pregnant and had a miscarriage.

The child time travelled out of her stomach, was the conclusion of the miscarriage meant. Henry decides to make himself impotent but even that plan failed as his wife could meet his past self sometimes, she got pregnant for his past self again and they managed to carry the baby to term. Alba is born a time traveler.

My personal thoughts on the movie.

Aside that the story got confusing at first, it began to explain itself in a very simple way that the story got very clear as time progresses. Whenever he time travels, there's always something that told the viewers where he is or how come he's there so it was more like the viewers were carried along in his random adventures.

I also like the part that the daughter got the gene of the father but not the involuntary aspect of it, she could control hers and that makes it more of a gift than a curse as it turned out for the father later. Overall, it is an interesting movie to see with family.
