Can anything good come out of a gangster? This is that movie that shows you that even the biggest killer, is also human, and has a very big heart. Sometimes they know they're wrong and want the best for you, and they don't want you to follow in their path.

A Bronx Tale is a story of a boy Colgero who lives in the Bronx.

Sunny was a gangster, he taught Colgero only the good things, and how to live life without being feared.

Lorenzo wanted the best for his son Colgero, because he knew associating with those types of people would lead him nowhere. He always told Colgero " The saddest thing in life is wasted talent"

This movie talks about life, how a young boy who lived in the Bronx with his mum and dad.
In the neighborhood, there was this man Sunny who was like an idol to him.
Most days, he and his friends would sit outside their stoop and watch Sunny with his friends and try to imitate him. He always wanted Sunny to notice him even from a very young age.

It's also about his experiences in the Bronx and how his father Lorenzo who is a bus driver, and man Sunny who's a gangster and feared in the Bronx, both want the best for him

I saw a clip of this movie on TikTok, and I was so bent on watching it. I had to look for sites where I could watch it for free but couldn't find any. It's not even on YouTube.
I later remembered someone recommended a site for me where I could watch any movies for free. I streamed this movie online last night and I must say I was impressed. I would rate this movie a solid 8/10, because of the life lessons, and also the casts did a very good job.

Movie name: A Bronx Tale
Release date: Oct 1, 1993
Runtime: 2hours 1min

Eight-year-old Colgero saw Sunny kill a man and was in total shock. Some minutes later, some cops came around and asked Colgero to help identify the killer. Colgero lied that Sunny wasn't the one who killed the man.
Sunny was his Idol and he couldn't bear to see Sunny Rot in prison. And right there in the Bronx ratting someone out is a no-no!
Sunny was impressed by the little boy and asked to see him.

Because of what Colgero did, Sunny wanted to help Colgero's dad by giving him a job, but Colgero's father was bent on the idea that genuine money is the best. The guy who goes out every day to hustle genuinely is the tough guy Colgero's dad reminded Sunny of this every day. but Colgero didn't buy that idea, because he saw that Sunny had a lot of money and he was a gangster.

Ever since Colgero was little, he always wanted to hang by the bar because his idol was always there, which was a dream come true for him.
He would go to the bar where Sunny spent almost all his day and serve coffee to people and receive tips.

One day his dad finds the money he had been saving, which was way bigger than even his dad's bank account. Lorenzo was so furious he dragged Cologero to where Sunny was and warned him to stay away from his son.
Colgero was so stubborn he never listened to his dad, all he did was get closer to Sunny. Sunny loved him a lot like a son and Colgero did the same.

Fast forward to eight years later when Colgero is now sixteen and now a man, where he hangs out with his friends every day and smokes. he thinks his dad doesn't earn enough, and is just a mere bus driver, and also thinks his dad doesn't want to see the good in Sunny.

One day he decided to ride with his dad on the bus, and he saw a beautiful black girl Jane
Dating a black girl was a no for them and dating a white guy was also a big no for the blacks.
The white guys hated the blacks so much, but Colgero felt he had fallen in love with her already. Luckily for him, they attended the same school. One day he mustered up courage and talked to her. He was so happy he finally talked to her and they decided to go out for a date.
On the same day, Janes's brother and some of his friends were riding a bike around the white neighborhood, and Colgero's friends beat them up to a pulp.

On the day of the date, Jane was furious when she met Colgero and told him what they did to her brother, Colgero said he had nothing to do with it, but Jane's brother insisted that he was the one that beat her up.
They didn't go on the date again which made Colgero sad.

Colgero went back home and met his friends who asked him to join them to destroy the black neighborhood. Colgero had no choice but to follow them because he felt they would think he was a chicken if he bailed out.
On their way, Sunny drove and followed their car and forced Colgero to get out of the car which he did. His friends continued the journey to destroy the blacks' property. Sunny was so mad at Colgero telling him the only way those boys would end up is either by getting killed or ending up in a prison cell. He warned Colgero that those boys were a bad influence on him.

Did he end up together with Jane or did he end up dead with his friends?
Watch the movie to find out!

The great thing about this film is that it shows the humanity and complexity of characters who, at first glance, could easily be labeled and judged.

Moreover, its themes remain relevant today, especially regarding the problematic decisions young people must make as they navigate a world of moral and social contrasts.

It is a cult film, almost mandatory to enjoy.

I remember this movie. I liked it a lot. I thought it was a good directorial debut for De Niro and I've always liked mafia stories.
