MOVIE REVIEW|| 🎥🎥 Priscilla

After I saw the movie trailer for the first time, I couldn't wait for it to be released. The movie posters was everywhere on IG, YouTube and I just couldn't wait.
I finally had the movie on my phone, and it took me weeks to finally see it. My younger sister saw the movie and said it was dreamy and that she watched it over and over again which made me want to watch it even more.

I would rate this movie a 5\10 . The actors did a very good job in portraying their characters, I mean who doesn't love Jacob Elordi? , but the story wasn't captivating. I was looking for something more. My honest opinion is I don't see any reason why they made a movie.

Initially I thought the movie was about a 14 year old girl who was introduced to fame, and how she couldn't handle all the pressure and wealth but it was the complete opposite of that. I felt like the movie talked more about Elvis Presley than her. The movie portrayed him in a dark light for me. It felt like she wasn't in a marriage she wanted to be.
I wouldn't want to watch this movie again, it wasn't what I had expected. The title said Priscilla so it's obvious it's about her but nope it's not really about her. It's just more of how she met Elvis and what led to their divorce if you ask me.

About the movie

Priscilla is a movie about the late Elvis Presley and his young wife Priscilla.

Priscilla is a 14yr old daughter of a Sergent. One day she was invited to Elvis Presleys house, after so many times of begging her parents to let her go , they finally agreed.
When they got to the party, she was introduced to Elvis Presley.

Elvis was instantly attracted to her because he thought she reminded him of his deceased mother. And despite their age difference, Elvis still wanted her because he thought she was young and he could groom her the way he wants.

Elvis was recruited to the US army at the age of 24 in West Germany where Priscilla and her family were stationed.
Elvis took interest in Priscilla and they started dating despite their age difference, which made her parents to worry because of his status, wealth, and also their age difference.

After serving in the army , Elvis had to go back home in the United States, which made him lose contact with her. After some years of not seeing each other, Elvis reaches out to Priscilla asking her to come to the states to spend some time with him.
During her stay in his estate at Graceland in memphis Tennessee she indulged in prescription drug abuse with Elvis, which made her act loose.

Her stay was over and she had to go home to her parents.Her parents weren't happy to see her, because of how she looked . They felt Elvis didn't take good care of her. She begged them to let her finish her high school in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis lived . Elvis promised to take good care of her and that he would make sure she graduated from high school, which she did.

Elvis decided she should change her hair colour, and also change the way she dressed. Priscilla felt like she wasn't herself again, coupled with the drugs.
Finally after graduating they got married and she got pregnant.
Elvis career just took to its peak, he would go on tour for months without coming home,and there was also dating rumours between him and his co-star,coupled with substance abuse, which made their marriage to suffer.

Priscilla later had an affair with her Karate teacher, but she still couldn't handle the pressure from her marriage so she filed for a divorce.
