Introducción a el mundo de Backyardigans:

The Backyardigans es una serie animada infantil lanzada en el 2004, Creada por Janice Burgess y co-producida por Nickelodeon Animation Studios, se estrenó el 22 de noviembre del 2004 en Nick Jr. Aunque en Latinoamérica se transmitía por Discovery kids.

Además de los casi 80 episodios a lo largo de 4 temporadas, Backyardigans contó con 3 películas que son:

1. Backyardigans: Súper Espía Internacional (2007)
2. Backyardigans: La Historia de los Poderosos Caballeros (2008)
3. Backyardigans: Los robots enloquecen (2009)

Nickelodeon Studios empezó con el desarrollo de la idea en 1998 cuando hicieron un piloto de acción real llamado "Me and My Friends" pero no fue hasta el 2001 que Nickelodeon modificó el concepto a lo que conocemos hoy en día como The Backyardigans

Premisa:

Los amigos Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, Uniqua y Austin salen a el patio a imaginar lugares y situaciones para ellos entrar en una aventura, el grupo suele presentar dilemas y obstáculos a la hora de desarrollar cada historia y obviamente las van solucionando, comúnmente cada aventura tiene un objetivo fijo, aunque cada situación es imaginaria, al espectador se le muestra como si fuese real, como si los personajes las tuviesen viviendo, ahí la magia.

The Backyardigans sigue principalmente un formato de musical, cada capítulo maneja un género musical en el cual se va a desenvolver la historia, la verdad es que la música está bastante bien, acompaña perfectamente cada situación, ya sea inquietante o un reto que se haya superado, la música cumple su objetivo, es más suelen tener buenos ganchos para que se te queden en la cabeza por un gran rato.

Al final cuando el objetivo de la misión se cumple, se desvanece la fantasía y cada uno de nuestros personajes principales entra a sus casas a merendar.

Personajes

Pablo: pablo es un pingüino azul, pablo de todos los personajes suele ser el más enérgico del grupo, es el mejor amigo de Tyrone y Uniqua, a menudo suele entrar en "Ataques de Pánico" cuando se presenta algún obstáculo, debo admitir que son bastante cómicos además de ser una de las principales características del personaje.

Tyrone: Tyrone es un alce anaranjado, Tyrone es bastante temeroso, se puede decir que es una contraparte de Pablo ya que es bastante tranquilo, es el mejor amigo de Pablo y Uniqua, además Tyrone cumple con ser el sarcástico del grupo y esto de puede notar en distintas frases que suele decir.

Uniqua: durante años se ha abierto el debate de que animal es Uniqua, y conseguir esta respuesta: "Uniqua es de una especie hormiga. Como su mismo nombre lo indica, es única, ya que su nombre deriva de la palabra "unique" en inglés; y aunque no lo sea, se podría describir como una hormiga rosada-fucsia, su característica física más relevante" link: https://aleph.org.mx/que-animal-es-uniqua

Aunque la serie utiliza el nombre Uniqua tanto como para el personaje como para su especie, pues la respuesta anterior tiene bastante sentido para mi.

Uniqua es bastante simpática pero también es buena al momento de tomar decisiones y suele ser terca en ocasiones, la creadora de ma serie Janice Burgess nos dice que Uniqua es la niña que le gustaría haber sido de pequeña.

Tasha: Tasha es una hipopótamo amarillo, es un personaje bastante simpático, aunque suele ser un poco más seria que los demás, a veces puede ser malhumorada y si no es la jefa.

Austin: Austin es un canguro púrpura, Austin es el más tímido de los personajes principales pero también puede llegar a ser muy inteligente e imaginativo, no le gusta ser el centro de atención, pero en varias ocasiones toma el mando de la situación, sino me equivoco este es el personaje principal que menos sale en la serie.

Cada personaje es muy distinto y tiene características bastantes marcadas, pero se complementan muy bien entre sí haciendo que tengan una buena dinámica y que se sientan como amigos reales.

Genialidad De The Backyardigans

Backyardigans nos muestran las aventuras que nuestros protagonistas viven, pero estas aventuras no son de todo reales, bueno aunque en la serie las aventuras son tomadas en serio, nada de lo sucedido en el capítulo afecta en el final del mismo, por lo mucho una reflexión y listo, pero los personajes siguen siendo los mismos, es plasmar en una serie la imaginación que pueden tener los niños cuando juegan, ¿por qué esto es una genialidad?, cuando se crea una serie para niños lo más importante es entretenerlos, esta serie lo hace mediante las aventuras que viven los personajes, pero como estas aventuras no tienen repercusión real en la vida de los personajes, no existe un cambio, pudiendo así mantener una estructura y solo cambiar las situaciones, además hace que cada capítulo sea independiente, es decir no existe una relación directa entre uno y otro, solo son los mismos personajes y una misma base.

Cada uno de los personajes principales tiene una actitud marcada, y esta actitud siempre está relacionada directamente con el rol que cumple cada personaje en la aventura, por ejemplo, aunque Pablo sea el Villano en una historia, sea el capitán pablo o sea el pirata pablo, sus forma de actuar siempre va a ser similar, como los personajes van rotando de roles a lo largo de los episodios es interesante ver como reaccionan todos en distintas ocasiones y situaciones.

Actualmente conocemos las series de antología que son: "Una serie de antología es una serie de radio o televisión que presenta una historia y un grupo de personajes diferente en cada episodio o temporada." algunas de las series de este estilo más famosas son Black Mirror y American Horror Story pero...

¿Es Backyardigans una seria antológica?

__Backyardigans es una serie que nos plantea una historia distinta en cada capítulos, estas historias funcionan por si solas y no existen relación entre sí, en cuanto si los personajes son distintos o no es debatible, porque los personajes podrían ser lo mismo, pero el rol que asume cada uno varía dependiendo del capítulo, pero también cada rol está ligado a la esencia de los personajes.

Curiosamente a mi parecer cumple con el factor principal que es presentar una historia distinta en cada episodio, y que no tengan relación entre sí, yo podría decir que si es una seria a antológica, también debo admitir que me da risa pensar que Backyardigans y Black Mirror son el mismo tipo de serie, así que me gusta pensar que si es antológica.

Vigencia de la serie:

La serie no envejecido muy bien en cuanto a animación (en mi opinión), pero si es bastante aceptable, se puede disfrutar sin problema, además que es una serie del 2004, entonces aunque no envejecido perfectamente, para el tiempo que tiene la serie es aceptable.

Backyardigans a agarrado fuerza actualmente debido a diferentes memes que se han hecho virales, Backyardigans hoy en día ya es de por sí un meme ya sea por las frases que dijeron los personajes en algunos capítulos o por distintas canciones de la serie y esto le ha sumado importancia, además de mantenerlo en la en el ojo público.

¿La Recomiendo?

Pienso que es una excelente serie para niños, pero yo podría ver unos capítulos sin ningún problema, solo se me hace un poco pesado como el exceso de música, ya que se siente mucho la vibra infantil, pero es un musical para niños, entonces obviamente no puedo juzgar ese factor, además después de descontruir toda la serie me di cuenta que tiene muchos puntos interesantes, uno entendiendo como funciona escribir un guión de una pelicula o una serie nos damos cuenta que Backyardigans se las ingenió para crear historias para niños sin preocuparse de tener alguna relación entre las historias. Le tengo mucho cariño a la serie y me trajo bastantes recuerdos cuando vi unos capítulos hace unos días.

Pablo: pablo is a blue penguin, pablo of all the characters is usually the most energetic of the group, he is best friends with Tyrone and Uniqua, he often tends to go into "Panic Attacks" when presented with any obstacle, I must admit they are quite comical as well as being one of the main characteristics of the character.

Tyrone: Tyrone is an orange moose, Tyrone is quite fearful, you can say that he is a counterpart of Pablo since he is quite calm, he is the best friend of Pablo and Uniqua, also Tyrone is the sarcastic one of the group and this can be noticed in different phrases he usually says.

Backyardigans show us the adventures that our main characters live, but these adventures are not quite real, well although in the series the adventures are taken seriously, nothing of what happened in the chapter affects the end of it, at most a reflection and ready, but the characters remain the same, is to capture in a series the imagination that children can have when they play, why this is a genius, when creating a series for children the most important thing is to entertain them, this series does it through the adventures that the characters live, but as these adventures have no real impact on the lives of the characters, there is no change, thus being able to maintain a structure and only change the situations, also makes each chapter is independent, ie there is no direct relationship between one and another, they are only the same characters and the same base.

Is Backyardigans an anthology series?.

Backyardigans is a series that gives us a different story in each chapter, these stories work by themselves and there is no relationship between them, as to whether the characters are different or not is debatable, because the characters could be the same, but the role assumed by each one varies depending on the chapter, but also each role is linked to the essence of the characters.

Curiously in my opinion it fulfills the main factor which is to present a different story in each episode, and that they are not related to each other, I could say that if it is a serious to anthology, I must also admit that it makes me laugh to think that Backyardigans and Black Mirror are the same type of series, so I like to think that if it is anthology.

Series' age:

The series did not age very well in terms of animation (in my opinion), but if it is quite acceptable, you can enjoy it without problem, plus it is a series of 2004, then although not aged perfectly, for the time that has the series is acceptable.

Backyardigans has gained strength nowadays due to different memes that have become viral, Backyardigans nowadays is already a meme by itself either by the phrases that the characters said in some chapters or by different songs of the series and this has added importance to it, besides keeping it in the public eye.

Do I recommend it?

I think it's an excellent series for kids, but I could watch a few episodes without any problem, I just find it a little heavy like the excess of music, since it has a childish vibe, but it's a musical for kids, so obviously I can't judge that factor, also after deconstructing the whole series I realized that it has many interesting points, understanding how it works to write a script for a movie or a series we realize that Backyardigans managed to create stories for children without worrying about having any relationship between the stories. I am very fond of the series and it brought back quite a few memories when I watched a few episodes a few days ago.
