Siendo sincero, no conocía a este importante personaje de la música, así como tampoco recuerdo haber escuchado ninguna de sus canciones, o al menos, las que pude escuchar en la cinta. Era importante aclarar esto, pues nunca llegué a conectar realmente con la película, quedándome incluso dormido cuando la intenté ver por primera vez, tiene un ritmo que me pareció, y más allá de la interpretación actoral adecuada, el protagonista tampoco fue mucho de mi agrado.

To be honest, I wasn't familiar with this important musical figure, nor do I remember hearing any of his songs, or at least not the ones I heard on the film. It was important to clarify this, as I never really connected with the film, even falling asleep when I tried watching it for the first time. It has a rhythm that suited me, and beyond the adequate acting, I didn't really like the lead character either.

Más allá de esa desconexión por el ritmo y la personalidad fría del protagonista, si hubieron cosa positivas de la película, ya que la importancia de Bob Dylan en la música es muy importante, pues comenzó con un don nadie que buscaba la aprobación de su héroe, hasta abrirse campo en el ámbito musical gracias a su talento, con canciones que son míticas en la cultura estadounidense y del Folk en general, siendo protagonista de uno de los momentos más importantes del Rock, rompiendo los esquemas en el festival de Newport al tocar instrumentos eléctricos, desatando la locura en el público, de forma negativa, ya que lo abucharon y le lanzaron cosas al escenario.

Beyond that disconnect due to the rhythm and the cold personality of the protagonist, there were positive things about the film, since the importance of Bob Dylan in music is very important, since he started with a nobody who sought the approval of his hero, until he made his way in the musical field thanks to his talent, with songs that are legendary in American culture and Folk in general, being the protagonist of one of the most important moments in Rock, breaking the mold at the Newport festival by playing electric instruments, unleashing madness in the audience, in a negative way, since they booed him and threw things at him on stage.

Pero antes de llegar a su cúspide mediática, vemos muchos aspectos de su vida, ya que sumado a su actitud fría, inexpresibilidad y desafiante ante lo preestablecido, tema que reflejó muchas veces en sus canciones, también vemos sus relaciones personales, que terminan siendo algo tormentosas. Muchos de estos aspectos los podemos ver en diferentes escenas como la crisis de los misiles de Cuba, donde sigue imperturbable, mientras Joan Baez, su amante y una gran cantautora americana, se sumergía en la locura de la población en general.

But before reaching his peak in the media spotlight, we see many aspects of his life. In addition to his cold, inexpressive, and defiant attitude toward preconceived norms, a theme he often reflected in his songs, we also see his personal relationships, which eventually became somewhat turbulent. Many of these aspects can be seen in different scenes, such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, where he remains unperturbed while Joan Baez, his lover and a great American singer-songwriter, was immersed in the madness of the general population.

En cuanto a las actuaciones, Timothee Chalamet hace un buen trabajo en meterse en la piel de Bob Dylan, pues esa fascie inexpresiva es algo que lo caracteriza, pues el música se expresaba mejor y lograba transmitir cosas era a través de la música, pero más allá de esto tengo que decir que los que se llevaron ni aplauso fueron los personajes secundarios, Monica Barbaro estuvo genial como Joan Baez, tanto por su personificación como por su capacidad de canto. Edward Norton siento que estuvo bien, creo que con esta apariencia mas envejecida, le va bien hacer de de mentor, mientras que Elle Fanning también destacó mucho, pues siento que es muy duro sobreexponerse al lado de un personaje tan reservado como Dylan.

As for the performances, Timothee Chalamet does a good job of getting into Bob Dylan's skin, since that inexpressive face is something that characterizes him, since the musician expressed himself best and managed to convey things through music, but beyond this I have to say that those who got no applause were the secondary characters, Monica Barbaro was great as Joan Baez, both for her personification and for her singing ability. Edward Norton I feel was good, I think that with this older appearance, it suits him well to play the mentor, while Elle Fanning also stood out a lot, because I feel that it is very hard to overexpose yourself next to a character as reserved as Dylan.

Y justamente entre Dylan y Sylvie (Elle Fanning) es donde vemos otro de los puntos importantes, pues pese a que esta era el amor de la vida del cantautor, dicho por él mismo en varias entrevistas, esta no se pudo adaptar a su nueva vida llena de éxito y fama, por lo que poco a poco empieza a distanciarse, hasta que finalmente se separan, con el factor de la relación oculta a voces entre Dylan y Baez, que finalmente tampoco prosperó por la personalidad del primero.

And it is precisely between Dylan and Sylvie (Elle Fanning) where we see another of the important points, because despite the fact that she was the love of the singer-songwriter's life, as he himself said in several interviews, she could not adapt to his new life full of success and fame, so little by little she begins to distance herself, until they finally separate, with the factor of the relationship between Dylan and Baez, which ultimately did not prosper due to the personality of the first.

Pese a lo anterior, lo más importante sin duda es la música, pues mas allá de la autobiografía de este artista, se buscó resaltar su música, y hablando de las interpretaciones, Timothee Chalamet hizo un excelente trabajo representándolas, mientras que vuelvo a remarcar a Monica Barbaro, que siento que fue de lo mejor, tanto actoralmente, como en interpretación. Lo negativo, desde un punto de vista totalmente personal, es que no fueron de mi agrado, tal vez tienen mucho que ver el contexto en que fueron hechas u otros factores que verdaderamente desconozco.

Despite the above, the most important thing is undoubtedly the music, because beyond this artist's autobiography, the goal was to highlight his music, speaking of the performances, Timothee Chalamet did an excellent job portraying them, while I want to emphasize Monica Barbaro again, who I feel was one of the best, both in terms of acting and performance. The negative aspect, from a completely personal point of view, is that I didn't like them; perhaps it has a lot to do with the context in which they were made or other factors that I'm truly unaware of.

En conclusión, realmente no me pareció una mala película, tiene actuaciones muy buenas, escenografía y fotografía bien pensadas y cuidadas, llevándonos a la década de los 60's, pero como ya mencioné anteriormente, no conecté con el protagonista ni con su música, puntos centrales y fundamentales de la película, por lo que a mí personalmente, no me gustó, aunque no por eso, la puedo crucificar, pues al tratarse de un personaje tan importante de la música, que hasta un Nobel de Literatura ganó, probablemente muchas personas conecten con ella. Algo que mencionó ya para el final, es la aparición de otros personajes legendarios en la música de la época, como el talentoso y polémico Johnny Cash.

In conclusion, I really didn't think it was a bad film. It has very good acting, well-thought-out scenery and photography, taking us back to the 1960s. However, as I mentioned before, I didn't connect with the protagonist or his music, which are central and fundamental points of the film. Personally, I didn't like it. However, I can't blame it for that. Since it deals with such an important figure in music, who even won a Nobel Prize in Literature, many people probably connect with it. Something I mentioned towards the end was the appearance of other legendary figures in the music of the time, such as the talented and controversial Johnny Cash.
