This time, I’d like to introduce the film Parasite, which depicts various elements of Korean culture. I want to highlight a few aspects that caught my attention—specifically social class. The film showcases the magnificent home of the Park family to represent social hierarchy, contrasting it with the semi-basement apartment where the Kim family lives, a setting associated with the working class.

The presence of a secret bunker in the house also struck a chord with me; the housekeeper explains that these were originally built as shelters in the event of an invasion by North Korea.

Another recurring theme I’ve noticed in Korean movies and series is the importance of academic credentials; in South Korean culture, formal education and prestige are fundamental to achieving high social status.

Regarding the culinary aspect, there is a scene involving the preparation of a typical Korean dish called Chapaguri—a blend of Chapagetti and Neoguri instant noodles topped with Hanwoo beef fillets.
Thanks to this film, I learned about several things: social status, the prestige associated with academic credentials, and the preparation of a specific dish. Although the movie took an unexpected turn at the end, it was fascinating; I recommend watching it and forming your own perspective.

En esta ocasión, les presento la película parásito, es una película que describe elementos culturales de los coreanos, les voy a resaltar algunos aspectos que llamaron mi atención en esta película, cómo son las clases sociales, muestra una casa magnífica que le pertenece a la familia Park para representar la jerarquía social y el contraste de la familia Kim que viven en un apartamento semisótano asociada a la clase trabajadora.

Me hizo resonar también el hecho que había un búnker secreto en la casa, la ama de llave relata que estos se usaban como refugio en caso de una invasión de Corea del Norte.

Otra cosa que he visto en las películas o series coreanas es la importancia de un título ya que en la cultura surcoreana la educación formal y el prestigio son fundamentales para un buen estatus social.

En la parte de gastronomía mire una escena donde requería preparar un plato típico de corea un Chapaguri, la cual es una mezcla de fideos instantáneos Chapagetti y Neoguri, al cuál se le añade filetes de carne Hanwoo.
Así que gracias a esta película aprendí varias cosas, el estatus social, el prestigio de un título y la preparación de un plato. Aunque la película tomo un giro inesperado al final, estuvo interesante, recomendada para mirarla y sacar tu perspectiva.
