I will avenge you, father.
I will save you, mother.
I will kill you, Fjölnir.

These three lines tell us what the movie is about, revenge! Alexander Skarsgård as Amelth in his boyhood character, rowing the boat and chanting these three lines, from then my ears were whispering it again and again. I also thought of starting with these three lines and here I am, finished watching "The Northman"

There is a hype going on after the release of this one, so why not taste it. So, The Northman is a historical film directed by Robert Eggers. After watching the Vikings series, I started loving movies related to Vikings, their ways, or the battles, not that I wanna be a savage like them, hehe. Here the main story is about revenge, Amleth a boy who sets out to take revenge for the murder of his dad by his own uncle Fjolnir who took away the kingdom making him an orphan.

The plot starts presenting our hero as a kid and there the King, I mean his dad returns from conquests and soon gets killed by his own brother. Before that he was wounded and realized he might die soon so did some traditional rituals, usually in Viking movies we often see such unusual rituals, here is one. Amelth somehow escapes after witnessing his father's death and leaves the kingdom. And then the story is fast-forwarded as a grown-up man.

He was raised in a Vikings group and somehow gets to find out about his uncle for whom a group of slaves was to send. For revenge, he disguised himself as a slave and starts his journey there. There he meets Anya Taylor-Joy as Olga, she was also being taken as a slave and somehow they joined together to help each other in their motives and freedom.

Well, this is like a plain simple story of revenge, right? Wait a minute, twists are yet to come, I won't give them to spoil the fun of watching but lemme tell you one thing, I didn't expect the story to turn out that way. I mean he was on his way to revenge and eventually he would take it, right? I forgot, hahaha. But in the midway, some characters just blew our impressions.

Usually, in Vikings, we have seen it often that after killing a king the queen is also acquired by the person who gets the throne, I mean the person who kills takes the queen for himself. The same happened, Amelth's mother was also taken away by his Uncle Fjolnir after killing his father, there lies a great truth hidden, but he couldn't hold onto the kingdom because someone else drove him away from there and he went to hiding in Iceland.

If you ask me about the overall impression then I would say the second half was more enjoyable, taking away one by one for his revenge in that village, the twist of truth we got was unexpected, also the unexpected deaths created mixed feelings within me. That ending was unexpected too but he had chosen both, love for his kinsman and the hatred for his enemies. But the dilemma is whom I should blame the most, who should I take to be the biggest villain or it was just some madness from her, don't wanna give spoilers so keeping it like this. Go for it, there is much more to enjoy than I have described, worth watching.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Hi there! What an interesting review! Vikings' lifestyle is indeed brutal, survival of the fittest!

I downloaded this movie over the weekend but I am yet to watch it. All I know is any movie with Alexander Skarsgård in it, I'm up for it! 😄
