Star Trek: Discovery (Season 2 : Episode 2) movie review
How are you all? Ever since I finished season one, I had a different kind of interest working inside me. Because of the way the mystery was created at the end of the first season, I could understand that something bigger was waiting ahead. But to be honest, I had a lot of trouble finding season two. I couldn't find it properly even after searching many websites. Finally, I was able to watch the episode in the English version on a free website, and after watching it, I felt that the wait was not in vain.

The second episode of the second season gives a different feeling from the beginning. Compared to the previous season, the mixture of mystery, emotion, and science fiction felt deeper here. A strange tension works throughout the entire episode, as if no one understands what is going to happen next.
I liked the character of Michael Burnham the most. As before, he seemed very strong and intelligent here. However, his inner emotions were revealed more in this episode. Especially the relationship with his brother and the memories of the past made the story very human. Not only as an officer, but also as a person, he is seen in a different way here.

And the presence of the Spock character has created a different excitement for the entire season. Although he is not fully seen in this episode, his mysterious position has made the story much more interesting. I kept wondering what really happened to him.
Captain Christopher Pike seemed to me to be the calmest but strongest character of this season. His leadership style is very different from that of previous captains. He keeps his cool even in difficult situations and manages the entire crew in such a way that everyone can rely on him. His dialogues were also very mature and deep.

The visual quality of the episode was really extraordinary. The space scenes were shown so beautifully that at some moments it felt like I was inside the Discovery ship myself. The CGI and sound design were of a very high level. Especially the mysterious signals that are shown in space made the whole environment more terrifying and mysterious.
The character of Saru also seemed very important in this episode. His fear, sense of responsibility, and care for the crew—everything makes him stand out. And Sylvia Tilly, as always, brings a little lightheartedness, which gives the viewer some relief in the midst of tension.

The best part of the story was its ability to hold a mystery. While watching the entire episode, it seemed like there was a bigger truth hidden behind each scene. Especially the “Red Angel” thing kept replaying in my head. This mystery made me even more interested in watching the next episode.
To me, this episode didn’t feel like just a part of a science fiction series. Here, family, responsibility, fear, faith and sacrifice—everything is beautifully blended. So those who are just looking for action will enjoy it, as well as those who like the depth of the story will find a lot.
Overall, the second episode of Star Trek: Discovery impressed me quite a bit. Mystery, emotion, character depth and amazing visuals—it was a really enjoyable episode. Now I just have to wait and see where the story goes next.
