The White Queen: Blythe Doll Style Pixel Art | La Reina Blanca: Estilo muñeca Blythe - Pixel Art [Eng-Esp]

Hi everyone! I know I've been away for about a month due to some personal matters. However, I still logged into my account every day for a little bit to read some of your posts.

Even so, despite the problems, stress, and day-to-day anxiety, I never stopped doing what I love, which is drawing and creating new things.

That's why today I want to share with you my most recent Pixel Art illustration.

It's inspired by a fairy tale character called The White Queen, from a 2010 Disney movie directed by Tim Burton called Alice in Wonderland"

¡Hola a todos! Se que estuve ausente alrededor de un mes, debido a algunos asuntos personales, sin embargo, entraba un ratito todos los días a mi cuenta y a leer algunos de sus posts.

Pero aun así, a pesar de los problemas, el estrés y la ansiedad del día a dia, nunca dejé de hacer lo que me gusta, que es dibujar y crear cosas nuevas.

Por eso, el día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la más reciente de mis ilustraciones en Pixel Art.

Inspirándome en un personaje de cuentos de hadas, llamado La Reina Blanca, de una película de Disney dirigida por Tim Burton en el año 2010, llamada Alicia en el pais de las maravillas

Creative Process 🎨 Proceso Creativo

To design this character, I wanted to create a fusion of gothic and sweet styles, so I took the elegance of the White Queen and combined it with the unique, stylized aesthetic of a Blythe doll.

With this idea in mind, I started bringing the illustration to life, beginning with a sketch made on a 203x203 pixel canvas.

On it, I traced the doll's main lines using a symmetry ruler to make sure everything looked even and harmonious, which also made the work easier and saved me some time.

As I mentioned before, this illustration is inspired by Blythe dolls; therefore, I decided to give this character a prominent head and huge, eye-catching eyes, along with extremely long hair. For the outfit, I made a Victorian dress that fits the White Queen's style perfectly.

Para diseñar a este personaje quise hacer una fusión entre lo gótico y lo dulce, así que tomé la elegancia de la reina blanca y la uni con la estética tan única y estilizada de una muñeca Blythe.

Con esta idea en mente empecé a darle vida a la ilustración, partiendo con la creación de un boceto hecho en un lienzo de 203x203 pixeles de dimensión.

En el cual tracé las líneas principales de la muñeca, usé una regla simétrica, para asegurarme de que todo luciera muy parejo y armónico, además de facilitarme el trabajo y ahorrar algo de tiempo.

Como mencioné antes, esta ilustración está inspirada en las muñecas Blythe, por lo tanto a este personaje, decidí darle una cabeza prominente y unos ojos enormes y completamente llamativos, también un cabello sumamente largo y para el atuendo, hice un vestido victoriano que encaja perfectamente con el estilo de la reina blanca.

Once the sketch was ready, I proceeded with the coloring, for which I used a very soft color palette.

I started by coloring the face, using a very light pink tone as a base. I applied very soft shadows under the hair and around the eyes, and once the shadows were well defined, I added some pink blush to her cheeks and a very soft highlight to certain areas of the face.

For those small lips, I used a deep, dark red tone that contrasts perfectly with her skin tone.

Then I got to the eyes, where I used grey tones. I started with a medium shade and gradually added gradients toward the center of the pupil, using black for the iris.

However, the most important part—and what truly brought those big eyes to life—was the touch of white highlight.

Una vez listo el boceto procedi con el coloreado, para el cual utilicé una paleta de colores muy suaves.

Comencé trabajando el coloreado del rostro, para el cual usé como base un tono rosado muy claro, apliqué sombras muy suaves debajo del cabello y alrededor de los ojos y una vez que las sombras estaban bien definidas, apliqué algo de rubor rosado en sus mejillas y algo de iluminación muy suave en algunas zonas de la cara.

Para esos labios pequeños usé un tono rojo oscuro y profundo, que contrasta perfectamente con el tono de piel.

Luego llegue a la parte de los ojos, para la cual usé tonos grises, empecé con un tono medio y fui añadiendo degradados hacia el centro de la pupila y usando negro para el iris, pero lo mas importante y lo que le dió vida a esos ojos grandes fue el toque de luz blanco.

I colored the long, wavy hair in cream tones, with very soft shadows and a very pale, almost white highlight, keeping with the White Queen's aesthetic.

El cabello largo y ondulado lo coloree en tonos crema, con sombras muy suaves y una iluminación muy palida, casi blanca, manteniendo la estética de la reina blanca.

Lastly, to finish the doll's structure, I colored the dress with a very soft off-white tone to give it a gothic paleness feel and a softer, more vintage vibe.

I added shadows to the folds of the skirt, using darker tones in the inner creases and white for the highlights.

Once that was done, I drew the heart she is holding in her hands, which I colored with a muted pink tone.

Por último y para terminar la estructura de la muñeca, coloree el vestido con un tono hueso muy suave, para dar una sensación de palidez gótica y una vibra más antigua y suave.

Agregué sombras en los pliegues de la falda, usando tonos más oscuros en los pliegues internos y blancos para las luces.

Y una vez hecho esto, dibuje el corazón que sostiene entre sus manos, el cual coloree con un tono rosado apagado.

I surrounded this illustration with heart-shaped trees and added a completely black background, which gives a very strong contrast to the doll's entire structure, making it pop enormously.

A esta ilustración la rodee con árboles en forma de corazones y añadí un fondo completamente negro, el cual le da un contraste bastante fuerte a toda estructura de la muñeca, haciendo resaltar enormemente.
