It is that time of year again!

Time for us all to bust out our lightsabers and dawn our cloaks and be one with the force. Whether your an OT person, sequel, or prequel person, there's something to be had now for every Star Wars fan. Not gonna lie; I totally forget that the Bad Batch was dropping its first episode today on the 4th. This isn't a review for the show, although if you liked Clone Wars, I'm sure you'll like it. In this post, I am just gonna reflect on Star Wars content for a while.

A long time ago

When I was real little, around five or six years is when I first remembered watching a Star Wars film, and it was episode one. That was my first exposure when I was at my uncle's. Naturally, being a kid, I liked Anakin and the Jesus-looking guy and POD RACING (and it's still cool). Of course, looking back, episode one has a lot of flaws, but it was my first experience, and it really wasn't the worst thing, just the worst thing before episode two ha.

The Originals

What's really weird to me is that I don't remember watching episode two the first time. I remember the first animated Clone Wars series coming out while my grandmother was in the hospital with cancer but not actually seeing the movie.

Anyways, I got put into foster care shortly after losing my grandmother, and the first family was ultra-religious and only allowed us to watch a movie a night or an episode of a show. Strangely, they loved star wars. So, trading cards (Yugioh and magic), devil games, space wizard that uses magic, good.

Then I got to finally experience the prequels in a way that looking back, I really liked. We didn't binge them (I took it one episode a week), so it set up suspense, and I got to speculate on what will happen next because they were no internet access for me at that time since that was all regulated for school or worship forums.

So long story fell in love with the originals over episodes two and one. I will not forget, though, that one of my foster brothers at that time told me that Luke becomes Vader by the end. He kept saying all week that he becomes a bad guy referencing the Yoda's trial, and then during episode 6, he paused and showed me that Luke was choking a dude! I still use this as an argument on why Luke is the best. He's not afraid to tap into his dark side for the greater good. Alright, enough gushing over the originals. Next is episode three.

Revenge of the prequels

Things didn't work with that family; I was angsty. I was with a new family; I was a preteenager and couldn't see the new Star Wars. So being in between families and living out in the country, I had to wait for the DVD to come out. We got it, and I watched it over and over and over again. My brother at that time and I analyzed the fight choreography of each fight (which still holds up, far beyond what the sequels did) and practiced with sticks and on the trampoline. It felt liberating to watch Star Wars on my own time and do whatever living with a more open-minded family.

The Games

With Battlefront 2 especially, my brother and I played that about as much as when Halo 3 came out. Even though the new Battlefront 2 had a good end, I still have more nostalgia for the original. Loved the Force unleashed even if I skipped the sequel. Bounty Hunter was great on the Ps2, which is a shame that it crashes my emulator since I don't own it anymore (maybe something I should try when I upgrade to PCMR?). Unfortunately, with Squadrons haven't been able to get into it because of internet issues, but then there is Fallen Jedi for that single-player experience.

I never got the chance to play Knights of the Old Republic games since I was a Nintendo kid, so I am either waiting to get a good pc to really play with some enchantment mods or just wait for this remaster; that's coming around.

Animated Stuff

Not much I can add that everyone else has already said. Clone Wars, amazing. Rebels, it's alright by like season three. Resistance, skip it. It isn't worth it. Clone Wars movie was actually the first Star Wars film I saw in the theater.... it sucks, and I thought Ashoka was going to die at the end of the series. Oh boy, was I wrong about one thing!

The Holiday Special

It is still on Youtube. I suggest finding a friend, doing some things, and watching that because they had to have been on some space things when they made that.

The Sequels

I was in college when these started coming out, and I was all Hyped. Then, they happened.... they were definitely a thing that happened....

Star Wars Stories

I was too busy in college when Rogue One came out, forgot about it, and didn't see it until years later. I regret that decision immensely because that is for sure up there in the top 4 favorite Star Wars movies. Then you have the Solo movie, which with everyone being hurt over the Last Jedi, nobody wanted to see it. If I'm being candid, it isn't a bad movie, even kinda fun at times, but it was a slap in the face to fans though that read the 'legends'.

##Speaking of Legends
After the sequels were a thing and Disney let Dave Filoni do his little 'one-off' series titled the Mandalorian, Disney began to realize that they should just let him run basically everything. I don't need to go over those. You clicked on this. You probably love his stuff. If not, let me know how wrong I am, anyways. It blows my mind how Disney made two acceptable movies, one of which was awesome. Then, they fumbled the rest of a saga, a story, made some mediocre animated series, canceled games, and animated series before they realized they needed an actual plan and not sideline Filoni.

Hey, though, it is looking good for now, and I still happy to say I am a Star Wars Fan. If you guys want to talk about Star Wars below, be my guest. What are your favorite things, and what are you looking forward to?

I also might just make a post each day for Star Wars Week if you guys liked this, because why not? I can bust out some small hot takes.

Until then,
May the Force be with you all!

I don't know if it is released worldwide, but Disney+ launched a new animated series on May the 4th called bad batch. Its about a group of rebel storm troopers at the end of the clone wars. Great new addition to the starwars universe. And good on Disney for launching on May the 4th!
