Movie review : “The Marvels” (2023)

I recently watched the highly anticipated Marvel movie "The Marvels" and while I had high expectations, the film left me somewhat disappointed. Despite knowing the plot and characters from the trailer and title, I was curious to see how the story would unfold on the big screen. Unfortunately, the film fails to deliver on its potential, leaving me with a sense of incompleteness.

The movie's plot revolves around Kamla Khan's mysterious bangles, which seem to be connected to the villain's source of power. This premise initially intrigued me, as it suggested a unique and complex narrative. However, the film's editing fell short, leaving the story underdeveloped and confusing. The connection between Kamala, Monica and the villains felt vague and the overall plot lacked a cohesive structure. One of the strengths of the film lies in Kamala Khan's character. Iman Velani delivers an engaging and engaging performance that captures the essence of Kamala's youthful exuberance and steadfast spirit. He undoubtedly carries the film, making him the most compelling character to watch.

However, other characters fail to reach the same level of depth. Monica Rambeau's story arc feels disjointed and lacks a clear direction. His interactions with Kamala are inconsistent, and his actions have no real consequences. Likewise, the villain's motivations and backstory remain underdeveloped, making him a rather forgettable antagonist.

The film's pacing also proved problematic. The opening scenes effectively lay the groundwork and introduce the characters in an entertaining way. However, the film loses momentum halfway through, as the plot lags and the characters' interactions become less engaging. The conclusion feels rushed and unsatisfying, leaving the audience with more questions than answers. Overall, "The Marvels" falls short of its potential, failing to deliver a compelling and rounded narrative. Although the film boasts of a charming portrayal by Kamala Khan, the underdeveloped plot, disjointed characters and rushed ending ultimately detract from the viewing experience.

And when Karel goes to the Prince's planet, from which only water is being sucked. Events jump from there to the other side. He concluded by saying that what was taken away from the planets is returned. You can do everything in a superhero movie. My issue is that the movie is shown half-heartedly. Movies never show the whole thing.

Now that villain and his whole character arc didn't feel that important in itself, so these people brought the goos and made his children to the space station but where did the goos children come from? Here children of goos were swallowing everyone but Kamla's mother and father why not play? However, writing more of this will only lead to more questions. The most interesting thing is that one of the most popular characters of X-Man, Beast, is shown at the very end.

So overall, I would just say that Marveles was a decent movie for me, with a good run for the first 22-25 minutes. And it held my interest until the moment that whole entanglement scene happened but at that point they just let the story go so fast that they didn't have any back stories. However, of course, I wouldn't put it at the highest level, but it was a combination, but what I said here was my own opinion. If you have time and are a big fan of Marvel you can watch this movie and I want to know what you think about this movie?

I don't feel too enticed to watch this one, maybe after (when arrives in Disney Plus).

PD: it's nice to have the X-Men back 🤔

I am not very eager to watch this movie even if the protagonists are all female and when I read this review it made me less interested.
